Sorry for taking so long. I'm not sure if I can really help you with this... Backgrounds are something I'm just getting used to myself, and I'm no good at explaining things anyway. You should probably ask someone else. So sorry!!! :( There are, of course, plently of other artists on this site, and I'm sure many of them would love to help.
