  • Rain pattered on the ground as thunder rolled and lightning split through the sky, lighting it up with the horrifying sounds. Raindrops hit puddles and the wind blew edead leaves that seemed to have fell off of trees in the blazing heat the greenleaf had brought. They hadn't made it to this day, the day of the rain that would have kept them alive and well. Healthy. In the distance, a young, black to-be splashed through big puddles, jumping from to another in big leaps, and making her paws get really muddy. Her one white leg was now covered in brown, sticky stuff, the same as the rest of her black ones. She didn't care, though, for she was having fun. The best fun she has had in a very long time. Giggling, she then leapt on a leaf, smashing it into a puddle and rubbing it against the mud. Hey, it was already dead, why just leave it there to flutter in the breeze?

She was aware she had come out to hunt, to make up for her big, cowardly mistake in the battle she did not participate in. She was well aware that she was scaring off any prey that dared to come out in the cold rain. She didn't mind, though. Having fun was better than hunting. Especially when it was pouring rain. Night's ears perked at the sound of hooves thudding at the ground and she heard bushes ruffle as a deer dashed off, making the she-cat's fur bristle in fright. She had never saw such a big creature before and it was scary looking. "Woah..I wonder if someone can kill it.." she muttered, not wanting it to come into the camp and destroy it.

She got out of the puddle and left the leaf alone, looking around the trail in astonishment. Did she scare the deer away? Or did someone else?

  • Wild froze as the sound of deer hooves took off in his direction. He rolled out of the way as the deer bounded past him, his red and white tabby fur turning slightly brown from the mud he'd rolled through. Pulling himself to his paws, breathing coming fast and slightly uneven. He loved to be scared- he'd only pulled out in front of the deer at the last moment. But he was about to turn and go back the way he'd come when he spotted a black she-cat, standing near a puddle.

Padding out confidently, the eight-moon-old tomcat introduced himself. "What's up- my name's Wild. Yours is?" Wild wasn't the type for speaking proper English, he preferred to appear 'hood', if you will. Just a habit.

  • Night perked her ears up at the sound of more pawsteps and turned around at a voice, eyes wide with curiosity. She didn't think another cat would be out here, in this weather, so it was quite surprising to her. "Um, my name is Night. Nice to meet you, Wild," she replied with a dip of her head. She glanced at her fur, now muddied, and moaned. Well, nice appearance for someone you just met, she thought, shuffling her paws as she looked at his pelt.

"..And I'm just trying to hunt." As in, jumping from puddle to puddle like a little kit she's not supposed to be. Trying to prove it, she started to scent the air, her eyes getting shifty.

  • Wild stifled a snort of amusement. "Are you sure you're not fishing?" he guffawed, looking up and down at Night's mud-slicked fur. The red tabby tom shook his pelt, trying to remove the moisture that seemed to stick and hang there. He'd offer his help, but it seemed like Night would just be embarrassed and refuse.

  • Night giggled and went over to another puddle, peering at her reflection. "I didn't know you can catch fish in puddles." She took her paws and splashed at the relfection, watching the water ripple in excitement. The rain had stopped finally and the sun was shining, much to her disappointment. She didn't want the puddles to go away. She was having fun. "But I'm probably scaring the prey. Got too caught up in my play." She backed away from the water and looked around, a smirk playing at her face. Hunting was boring.

  • Wild shook his head, snorting with contained laughter. "You're probably right," he mewed, flicking his tail in amusement. The sun had come out, and it was warming his chilled fur, removing unwanted moisture. The red and white tom didn't like to hunt, he'd rather be battle training, but he had no mentor at the moment, so he was forced to sit around and hunt for queens and kits.

  • Night cocked her head to the side a bit, confused as to why he was laughing. She didn't say anything funny, did she? "I probably am. I never saw fish in puddles before." She shook her pelt to get the water left behind off, and then began to groom the mud off her one white leg.

  • Wild was having some trouble holding in his amusement. "I've never either. But there's always a first time for everything." The red and white tom moved over by Night, sitting down across from her. He may have been a little pushy, but he was entertaining and a nice guy, if a little reckless.

  • As Wild moved over in front of her, a smile lit up on her mostly face. "Well, if we find a fish in a puddle of water, there'll probably be talk! Ya know, because who would expect that? or maybe they won't believe us..." She stopped her grooming to think about that, daydream actually finding one.

  • Wild raised one hypothetical eyebrow as Night started to babble. She seemed almost more kit-like than he, who was younger and far less mature than he'd have thought the she-cat was. "But we didn't find one yet," Wild commented, flicking his tail toward the puddles. In the sun they would soon evaporate. "If we're gonna look, we'd better do it now."

  • Night nodded, feeling a bit awkward that she was being talkative, which was highly unnatural for her quiet spirit. She usually kept away from a lot people, staying only close to those she had been with as a kit. She had just met this tom. "Um, yeah. You're right," she replied as she got to her paws, looking around for more puddles other than the one she was now standing next to. She had already checked that one, and there was no sign of fish. "If there are any, it'll probably be really tiny. We'll have to look closely in the water if we want to find one."

  • Following after the she-cat, Wild shrugged his shoulders. There wouldn't be fish in there, unless they fell from the sky. This was in the middle of an area with no water- fish inhabiting the area was impossible. But he would humor her, he had nothing else to do today. "You let me know if you find one," he said, amusement thinly veiled in his voice.

  • Night nodded, pouncing into the puddle she was near anyways. She was aware that she wouldn't find a fish in a puddle, but she wanted to have some fun. Up until now, she was accompanied by a cat who had a bad attitude, ruining her fun and making her angry. This was the only time she would probably be away from the to-be..knowing Bright, she'll find a way to torture her behind Lightrain's back. The she-cat stepped out of the puddle, then, and flicked her paw to get the water off of it. Silently, she searched for another small pool, her eyes narrowed against the sunlight shining in them, and making her fur grow hot against the heat.

  • Wild shrugged his shoulders amiably and jumped into the fun, diving into a rather large puddle, kept around by the shade of a wide-branched oak tree. Drops of water flew everywhere, glistening shards of glass clinging to his coat and reflecting the sunlight. It was like he was coated in thousands of little diamonds, that is until he shook himself, ridding his red and white fur of the moisture. He quickly grew warm underneath his thicker-than-average pelt, and flopped down in the shade, watching Night play with an amused expression. "Having fun?"

  • Night shrank back as drops of water flew off of Wild's pelt, one landing on her nose. Ears perked in surprise, she rubbed her nose against her shoulder fur to get rid of it, tail falling carelessly to the ground, the tip of it into the water. When she thought the droplet was gone, as it felt like it was, she turned her gaze towards the tom when he asked her a question. "Yeah, I am," she muttered, nodding as she did so. "But I'll stop...I need to hunt. Seriously, this time." With a heavy sigh, she stepped closer to the trees, scenting the bushes and ground for signs of squirrels or something she could bring back home. She started to feel stupid, though, when she found nothing. Her childish play probably scared the prey away and hide until they found it safe again. Wo knows when that'll be?

Her legs were again sticky with the mud. She'll have to clean it again before she got home with whatever prey she found. She didn't want to look like a fool once back. She probably already did to those who caught her hiding in fear at RiverClan camp. There has to be some prey, though. Maybe Wild can help.. Her gaze flickered back to the to-be, eyes still narrowed.

  • Wild shrugged his already broad shoulders, following the she-cat into the more densely wooded area. The red and white tabby felt like he should probably at least attempt to help Night hunt, so when he finally scented a rather plump squirrel he signaled her silently with his tail. It wouldn't be good to be prideful and attempt to take it down himself- she had seniority over him, he would let her take the kill.
