He stared into the bushes but got tired of looking and turned back to Ander.

"Nothing?" Ander asked, "Alright. I'll stay here with you tonight, kay?"

The dragon leaped into a branch, content.

Ander found a strong branch he was not likely to fall off of and laid down on it.

Laniel watched him, making sure nothing happened to him.

Ander smiled at him. "Just go to sleep, little guy."

He didn't move at all, just flicked his tail once.

Ander slowly fell asleep.

He turned his head to scan the area around the tree.

Hikai tried to stay as still as she could but she was too tired and she fell over into the pile of crisp autumn leaves she had been trying so hard to avoid.

He jumped down and bared his teeth but didn't know where to look.

Ander continued sleeping.

Safaia quickly flew over to her trainer, whining anxiously.

The crunching of the leaves woke Hikai up as fast as she'd fallen asleep 'We'd better go, that dragon is too young to speak to its rider through their thoughts,' jumping on to Safaia's back.

Safaia snorted in agreement. You got that right. She flapped her wings and took off.

Ander heard the flapping and got up. "Laniel? Is that you?"

He squeaked and turned to look at him.

"Was someone there?" Ander asked.

He squealed and tilted his head.

Ander held out his hand. "Looks like I'm not going home anytime soon."
