The tom grinned, nodding in understanding. He sniffed the air again, and the sudden, musky scent of rabbit drifted towards his sensitive nose. Memoirpaw smiled crookedly to himself, then immediately darted off, following the smell as best as he could. Soon enough, he spotted the rabbit contentedly munching on a leaf. The lilac-point crouched down, slinking forward a little bit, until he was confident the rabbit was in jumping distance. The breeze picked up, as the young apprentice leaped! But the rabbit had caught the tom's smell on the breeze and had darted off. Memoirpaw growled, racing after the hopefully-soon-to-be-prey, paws pounding furiously on the ground. He leaped again, but the rabbit pushed off with it's hind paws and leaped away as the lilac-point belly-flopped onto the ground.

Illuminatedmind was glad to have such a good apprentice. He really focused, and that was all she could ever ask for. A focused, hard working apprentice and this tom seemed to really enjoy learning.
Unlike Illuminatedmind. When she was known as Illuminatedpaw, that last thing she wanted to do was learn. Whether it be hunting or fighting she was never fond of learning anything, even when she first became an apprentice. She was glad that Memoirpaw wasn't like her.
-
ooc; uh-oh, is Memoirpaw too much of a Kitty-Sue? o.O
ic; The young apprentice struggled to his paws, his belly stinging from the branches he had cracked and the leaves that he crackled on his ultimately failed belly-flop. He winced, bending his head to lick his stomach. "Darn rabbit...though I guess I couldn't have caught some prey for my Clan on my first try..." Memoirpaw sighed, then sniffed the air again, trying to catch the now comforting scent of his mentor. A faint thread caught his nose, and the tom raced off, following the smell. Soon he had caught up to his mentor, and sighed, meowing, "I'm sorry, Illuminatedmind, I couldn't get the rabbit..."
-
OOC. That's just Illuminatedmind's vision ^^
She thinks everybody is nicer and better than herIC. Illuminatedmind frowned slightly, but he didn't know much so she couldn't take it out on him, could she? Shaking her head she attempted to replace the frown. "It's fine. Just.. we'll try again tomorrow. Honestly I think you need to get some rest. I know I do."
-
ooc; oh okay.

ic; Memoirpaw's ears flattened, he could see the disappointment in his mentor's face. "Okay..." he meowed quietly, turning around to head back to camp. The tom's head was down, and his tail drooping as he continued to pad through the forest.
-
"Lighten up, Memoirpaw. You just need some rest, I believe." Illuminatedmind forced a small, warm smile as she padded along side the apprentice.
-
The small tom lifted his head to smile weakly up at his mentor. "Maybe, but I still feel like I failed you, which I did." he sighed, dropping his head again.
-
"You didn't fail me. I completely understand." She gave a reassuring nod. "C'mon. Let's just rest." Stopping to sit under a tree, she flicked her tail over her paws.
-
The tom smiled a little, but this time for real. He walked over to his mentor and sat down heavily next to her, then pulled his paws together and quickly curled his tail over his paws neatly. Memoirpaw's ears twitched suddenly, and they swiveled. "Squirrel?" he muttered questioningly to himself.
-
Illuminatedmind, who didn't hear him, curled herself up and pressed her face into her fur.
-
The lilac-point glanced at his mentor, determined to impress her, then sneaked off quietly, towards the sound of squirrel. Soon the tom had caught sight of the squirrel, and he crouched down, quietly sneaking up on it. He leaped, and missed, then darted after the squirrel, although it leaped into a hole in a tree that was too small for Memoirpaw to fit through.
He sniffed the air again, smelling a bird this time-sparrow! He darted towards the smell, like the other times, and crouched down once more, sneaking up quietly upon the bird. He pushed all of his energy into his hind legs, and leaped off, ready to leap again in case the bird flew off. The bird fluttered only a few inches away from the tom, and he-once again-belly-flopped onto the ground, except luckily this time onto ferns. The apprentice growled, seeing the bird fly off, way too high for him to catch it, with its prize, a caterpillar.
Memoirpaw struggled onto his paws, and sniffed the air again, dispirited. He smelled mouse, except it was a faint scent. He sighed, and began to walk towards the smell.
After a while, the tom finally arrived at the place where the mouse was eating seeds. Well, there sure are a lot of prey here, and I failed three of them...oh, I hope Illuminatedmind isn't worried...I really want to make her proud, but, I'm such a failure at hunting... The apprentice thought, almost sighing heavily, but catching himself before doing it. His ears pricked as the tom crouched down, and he crept forward a few steps, tail held completely still, unless he felt some grass or something in the path of his tail-then he'd shift it, carefully. Memoirpaw's sky blue eyes narrowed, but tiredly. He glared at the mouse, again pushed the few remaining energy left in his tired body into his hind legs, and then leaped, once more.
The mouse, with its cheeks full, had glanced up at the tom, beady black eyes widening.
The apprentice sighed on his way down, expecting a hard belly-flop. But when he landed squarely on the mouse, he started, surprised. His ears pricked, and the tom was so shocked that the mouse almost got away, but, energized, the tom lashed out with his claws and caught the rodent again, quickly killing it with a swift bite to its neck. Memoirpaw grinned tiredly, but triumphantly, and picked up the dead prey, and began to trot back to his mentor.ooc; now this is a winner in muse!

/Outstanding
IC. Illuminatedmind flicked her tail.
OOC. Haha, my muse compared to yours xD
-
ooc; haha, but not every post I have muse like that D:
then I'd kill everyone that reads the posts I make XDic; The young tom dragged the plump mouse towards the tree where Illuminatedmind was curled up under. "Look! Illuminatedmind! I caught a mouse!" the apprenitce announced proudly. He pulled the mouse towards his mentor and dropped it, panting heavily from his hunts and dragging the mouse all this way.
-
"Great!" His mentor exclaimed, smiling as she looked at the large mouse near her.
-
The tom grinned, feeling great that he had made his mentor proud. "Should we go back to camp now? Or should I keep hunting?" Memoirpaw asked, purring slightly.
-
"It's your choice, Memoirpaw. Would you like to hunt or go back to camp?" Illuminatedmind asked softly, and sweetly.
OOC; Might get her a temp. Virtually no muse ;___;
-
ooc; aw D:
ic; "Mm.." The young tom tilted his head, turning it and glancing back at the forest, weighing his choices. "Well...I'll go try and catch some more prey..." Memoirpaw stood up.
-
Illuminatedmind nodded. "I'll meet you back at camp."
-
The young tom nodded, and then dashed off into the forest, sniffing the air to catch any smell of prey. He soon caught the scent of sparrow and began to follow the trail.
-
Illuminatedmind began journeying back to camp, slowly strolling there as there was no time limit she had to get there.
