The young tom tried to mimic his mentor, but his legs wouldn't fold neatly the right way, and he toppled over onto his back. The lilac-point clawed at the air, trying to flip over onto his stomach again. His sky-blue eyes looked over at Illuminatedmind, embarrassment written all over his face. "Uh...help?" Memoirpaw muttered.

The warrior couldn't help but giggle slightly as she nudged him, aiming to roll him over so he could get up. "Good attempt. We'll have to work on it though. I don't want you getting hurt." Illuminatedmind said. "Now.. let's try again."
-
The tom landed on his paws, ears flattened against his head. He nodded and crouched down again. Although his legs still felt awkward, he didn't topple over this time. Memoirpaw looked up triumphantly at Illuminatedmind. "Like this?" The lilac-point asked, a grin already stretching across his maw, although his mentor hadn't confirmed whether he did it right or not.
ooc; burst of small muse :P

"Yes, that's good. Try walking forward before leaping as if trying to land on some creature that's there." Of course there wasn't anything there, but it was just practice so that didn't matter right now. Memoirpaw had to learn this before they got to the actual hunting part.
-
The young apprentice flattened his ears, licking his lips, while imagining a small, furry brown creature in front of him. Mmm..so tempting..so juicy... The tom thought, then quickly shook his head, clearing it of the distracting thoughts. He wobbled forward a little bit, then...leaped!
...
And toppled onto his back.
Again.
"This is getting old," Memoirpaw grumbled quietly, trying to flip onto his paws again. He looked up at his mentor apologetically. "Uh...sorry..." The lilac-point muttered. "Can you, um, help me up again?" -
"It's fine. You're just learning after all." Illuminatedmind said with a reassuring smile as she stepped over to him, attempting to help him back onto a fight. "I wouldn't make you go through this, but better to practice than mess up with the actual prey. Right?"
-
The tom ducked his head, nodding.
ooc; sorry if it seems annoying to make him get it wrong over and over, I don't want to have a Kitty-Sue/Mary-Sue/Gary-Sue on my hands. :P
ic; He crouched down once again, sky blue eyes narrowed and lilac-furred ears flattened. Memoirpaw wriggled his rump and focused on a single leaf, once again. He tried to push all his power into his hind legs, like what SkyClan cats are supposed to be good at doing. The young tom gritted his teeth, and then pushed off again! This time, he actually managed to land on a leaf, although not one that he was aiming for, and also managed to not fall over. The lilac-point blinked, sky blue eyes staring disbelievingly at the leaf between his paws. "I-i...I sort-of did it?" the tom gasped, muscles slack now.

IC. "Great job! Would you like to try actually hunting something, now, or would you like to continue practice?" It was his decision. She wanted him to be able to have a fun apprenticeship that wasn't full of boring instructions.
-
The young tom tilted his head, licking his lips at the sound of actually hunting. "Well...um, I'd really like to hunt...but, I think I should probably still practice a little, cause I don't want to scare off all of the prey!" Memoirpaw sighed, glancing at a nearby leaf.
-
Illuminatedmind nodded. "Don't be down! You're learning." He was, and that was a great thing.
-
The tom grinned, and crouched down, determined to impress his mentor. He focused on the leaf again, and tensed his muscles, again pushing his power down to his hind legs, trying to mimic what he had done before. Memoirpaw tensed his shoulders, and wiggled his tail, then leaped! And this time, he landed only inches away from the leaf! The lilac-point's face broke out into a wide smile, and yelled in happiness, "I did it! I almost reached my target!" before realizing that he probably would scare off all the prey in the forest unless he stopped yelling.
-
"Great job!" Seeing how good he was getting she smiled, getting into her own crouch before stalking towards a leaf that laid a couple tail lengths away. Staying quiet on paws, stomach skimming the ground, she got ready to leap. Pushing down on her back legs she sprang up into the air, just landing on the leaf.
-
Memoirpaw's sky blue eyes widened and he meowed, "Wow, you're a really good hunter, Illuminatedmind!"
-
She shrugged. "Yea, I guess. Honestly I bet you'll be as good ad me!"
-
The lilac-point shook his head, eyes still open with adoration. "I doubt it.."
-
[align=center][sub]"Aw, come on. Yes you will be. You're great for a beginner!" She stated encouragingly, giving a smile.
-
Memoirpaw smiled a little. "Well, maybe...I guess I do want to be as good as you, but I doubt I'll ever best you." he meowed. "Should we go hunt now?" The tom suggested.
-
Illuminatedmind nodded, brown tabby head bobbing up and down as she turned and began walking towards a place were she had scented prey earlier.
-
The tom followed, nose up in the air to scent any traces of the delicious smell of rabbit, vole, shrew, mouse or...mmm....the one delight that made all SkyClan cats' mouths water-bird! His ears swiveled, catching noises that might lead to some prey, and his sky blue eyes darted around as he followed his mentor, in case some foolish prey came darting near.
-
"If you smell something, don't hesitate. Go after it, just return back here." Illuminatedmind stated, smiling as she spoke.
