ice crept into the area sorority was, " they look so calm, too bad we're going to have to change that " she mewed in a low voice.
(( her real name is icestorm but she was exiled so you can call her ice if you want ))
OOC: FLOOD! Careful not to flood, Forest has some intense schooling, so, wait up for her
IC: Cyrill managed squeeze his oddly muscular for a kittypet body under the brush. His yellow eyes watching, he kept getting a whiff of an unknown scent. He crouched low to the ground, although his torn claw had healed, if he put weight on his foot in the wrong way, it sent little shocks and stabs up his leg, which were tolerable, but not favorable.
OOC: Heh, gratzi Ghostfoot. Though I must admit that sometimes I was just too lazy, or had lost my muse. ^^; (Gah! Another Odyssey reference, make it stop!)
Though she could not place how, multiple senses hinted at the presence of another entity, somewhere. Raw foreleg hovering gingerly above the ground, a pinto coat appeared dappled in the shade of the bushes, and icy eyes glinted with a defined sharpness. Breath wreathing around her in a ghostly fog, the she-cat stared steadily out into the open. Scenting the tabby tom, she didn't know whether to be relieved or enraged.
But an epiphany struck her just then, his smell was faint, just carried by the wind. So then why did I pick it up?... It hardly stood out over the overpowering stench of pine, and layers of fallen leaves. Something closer was drifting to her nose from behind, causing her already frazzled pelt to bristle. Deciding not to bother taking any chances, her claws had slid free from their sheaths in mere moments, and she let out a warning hiss. "Alright, you mangy little rat! Show yourself," ordered the feline. "I'm in no mood for games, unless you consider getting skinned, a game..."
Korova pricked his ears in the direction Cyrill had dissapeared into. Something was wrong, he could feel it. Hefting himself to his paws, the unusually large, black tom followed after Cyrill. Each step he took he felt more uneasy. His long and deadly ivory claws slid out, standing out startlingly against his black fur. His green eyes narrowed as he drew near to his two...what were they? Friends? He could say that, he thought. Horseflight and Cyrill were near, but Korova caught the scent of other cats. He didn't know why, but he had a bad feeling about them. The large, muscled tom made his way to his friends' sides, his long claws sinking into the ground where he stood.
And he had been hoping for a day off, a day he could go without sheding blood, a day he could go without killing or fighting. He couldn't remember a day he had gone through without violence of some sort. It was inevitable he assumed, killing was part of him. Whether it be foxes, dogs, or, granted, other cats, he knew how to kill. If his muscled form and fighting skills weren't enough, his unusally large size made it easy for him to succeed in his goals. Thinking of those goals had his fur standing up. All he needed to do was think one word, one single word, and all hell would break loose. He was sorry for the cats that were crouching hidden, but he wouldn't let his friends get hurt. "Show yourselves. We know you're there, you haven't succeeded in any surprise tactic." He meowed, his voice a low and deadly growl, icy with underlying threat.
"And such is the point. Never surprise the enemy. You want them to notice you before you attack them. It makes their shocked faces when they die just that bit sweeter." Sorority hissed, her tone sickly sweet. Before anyone could tell what had happened, she had bounded out of the bushes and was aiming to pin down Cyril. Sorority may have been small, but she was far stronger than she appeared.
((Sorority-attacking group-very hard-attacking Cyril))
Sparing no mercy for the earth, the calico's talons pierced the layer of clover on which she stood. So, she wasn't going senile. Elegant white-tipped ears poised to detect further comments, her cerulean gaze lit on a scruffy gray tabby. "Crawling back to me already..." she muttered. But why was he ducking in under the bushes like that? A pestering scent returned once again to her nostrils, causing her to turn her head around. Catching a glimpse of a lashing tortie tail, the form was followed by a scrawny-looking slim she-cat. Figuring that she could take this tortie house pet reject any day, Horseflight stalked free from the brambles. Trying to steal my job, are we? Well then...
The pinto feline stiffened as the rogue rushed the tom she had come to know as her friend. Or perhaps more... Crystal eyes flashing with blue fire, a protective instinct surged within. Silky tail whipping around furiously, the she-cat charged ahead in an attempt to intercede. "Outta' my way, fleabag!"
icestorm walked out of the bushes with a smirk on her face then quickly leaped at the nearest cat. korova
Luxx paused a moment, glancing back over his shoulder to ensure Lola and Brightstar were still behind him. His pause had him focusing on his surroundings instead of walking slow enough to not leave the young cats behind. His ears pricked, his nose wrinkled he turned in the direction he had heard the noise. It sounded like...creeping cats. He breathed in a gulp of air, almost laughing when he recognized the scent of some of the cats. It hadn't been too long ago since his brush with Horseflight and the others. Thinking about them had his mind on that big, black tom who had been with them. A slight shudder went through him, that cat just made him uneasy. He took a few steps further, coming into earshot to hear the words being spoken ahaead. Attack? He paused, turning abruptly to Lola and Brightstar. "You two, get under a bush or something okay? Just please, trust me." He meowed, motioning to a slightly prickly-looking plant a little ways away. It would be easy for the smaller cats to get under, but difficult for full-grown cats to. They would be safe at least. "Please." He repeated. "And don't come out untill I tell you too." He added before turning back to the scene that was unfolding before him. The large bengal tom unsheathed his claws and was about to leap towards the cats, muscles rippling under his golden, spotted fur when a twig snapping to his side had him turning.
~~
Stormshadow stopped, cursing his clumsyness as the twig snapped under his weight. He couldn't help it though, all RiverClan cats were large in size, it was their nature he guessed. He looked up to see if he had alerted anything to his presence...and froze. He hadn't thought about crossing paths with other cats when he had decided to talk his walk. he had just wanted to get away from clan life for a bit and now here he was. His eyes narrowed and claws unsheathed, he took a step forward towards the large bengal loner before him. The other tom looked slightly distracted for some reason. Stormshadow stopped his advance, ears pricking in the direction the bengal had been facing. The golden swirled tabby turned his attention back to the bengal, a questioning look on his face. "What's going on?" He asked quietly, claws still unsheathed.
~
Luxx took in the sight of the tom before him. He was close in size to him, possibly a bit larger in the shoulders if possible, and he smelled...like fish. He wrinkled his nose a bit. What was a clan cat doing out here? It didn't matter, Luxx could use his help. "There's no time to explain, some of my...friends" He paused a moment, the word sounding weird to him, Horseflight definately wouldn't consider him a friend, but he continued anyways. "Well, some cats I know are in trouble right through here. Will you help?" He asked, keeping his voice low. He turned back to the front, not waiting for an answer and lept forward into view. He landed right in front of the large, black tom that creeped him out. He turned to see a cat leaping toward them. He twisted out of the way at the same time Korova, the large black tom, did.
~~~
Korova stared at the bengal tom. "Luxx?" He meowed, he remembered his name from earlier. He couldn't help the stab of anger he felt at first, but he was distracted by the cat leaping towards them. he twisted out of the way, perfectly in time with the bengal tom. "Well, I must say this is a pleasant surprise." He meowed, narrowing his eyes slightly.
~
Luxx shook his head quickly. "Look, sorry about earlier, but I'm here to help..." He trailed off as the tom he had encountered in the woods moments before cam leaping towards them just as he had. He stopped, landing a few feet away and turning to glare at the she-cat that had first tried to leap at Korova.
~~
Stormshadow hesitated only a moment before following after the bengal tom. Something about the urgency in his voice when had had asked for help had convinced the Riverclanner to do just that. He whirled, landing to glare at the she-cat who had just leapt towards the bengal and a large black tom. He nodded once to the bengal as he stood his ground. "I'm here to help too. The name's Stormshadow." He meowed, still shooting daggers at the she-cat.
~~~
Korova was surprised all over again. They went from a fighting force numbered at three, to five with the addition of Luxx, the large bengal tom who had a bit of an attitude problem, and Stormshadow, the large tom who smelled like RiverClan. What a clan cat was doing out here, Korova didn't know, but at the moment he didn't care either. He was glad they were willing to help. They had a good force. Cyrill could fight and he had strength, Horseflight was a wrath from hell when angry, Luxx was huge as was Korova himself, and both had grown up in the wild, both knew how to kill. And then there was Stormshadow. Korova turned his attention to the clan cat a moment. The Riverclanner was huge, just like Luxx and himself, though all RiverClan cats had size advantages, but there was an air about him. He knew what he was doing. A small smirk slipped into place as Korova turned back to the she-cat. "This should be interesting. You're outnumbered, if you haven't already noticed." He meowed, his voice still held the icy note of threat.
Bouncing along at Luxx’s side the small cream she-kit couldn’t contain her excitement at all of the new plants and smells she was encountering. After being a kittypet, cooped up with her nasty twolegs for the first moons of her life she loved her freedom but was apparently oblivious to the dangers that came with it. She had bee lucky enough to come across Luxx who had half volunteered to take care of her until she was older.
’Hey look at tha…’ She was stopped in her tracks as Luxx suddenly became more serious, ordering her and her friend Brightstar under a nearby bush. Her blue eyes grew wide as she was a little shocked, but she could see that as much as she wanted to, arguing was not a good option right now.
Lola pushed herself into the bush, letting out little squeaks as the twigs snagged her fur and hurt her. ’Are you coming back?’ She whispered urgently, she was worried that the tom was just going to leave her there. She had grown to admire him almost as family in the short time they had been together and she would be very hurt if he were to vanish on her.
OOC: So you brought reinforcements? Ha, Luxx... x3
In the thick confusion, the pinto she-cat could hear a fierce yowl coming from the undergrowth flanking her left. Turning to snuff out the skinny female, a white blur flashed in front of her face- "Eh- Korova!", she mewed anxiously, but the impressive black tom avoided the new threat quite easily. She could now smell several other cats, and her muscles tensed- ready for an intense fight. As a familiar face- a muscular bengal tomcat- appeared on the scene, the female simply stood lock-jawed. Teeth grinding together, she hissed to warn him off. So the vulture's looking for scraps...
Suddenly, another tom sprang from cover, causing the she-cat to straighten up in surprise. A tang of fish drifted to the calico's nose, and her brows furrowed as her senses were exposed to this strange smell. She had to admit that the fellow was rather attractive, but she was no fool either. Was he friend, or foe? Flashing the coal black Korova a questioning look, Horseflight kept one eye trained on the location where she last spotted the malevolent tortoiseshell. Claws unsheathing tentatively, a foreleg was outstretched in the direction of the paler enemy cat.
Brightstar bounded happily along after Luxx, trying to keep his pace to match Lola's. He was too big to be considered a kit anymore, and his pelt was no longer kitten soft. His family in WindClan no doubt would find it hard to recognize him with a new name, smelling like a loner, and having grown so much since his kidnapping. Green eyes took in his surroundings with excitement, tail tip twitching with happiness.
He froze when Luxx told Lola and him to go hide, and though he felt confused the young tom scampered off after Lola, squeesing his half grown body underneath the space between the cold ground and the itchy bush that scraped at his red tabby pelt as he wriggled to the safe spot. From his position crouched down next to Lola, he watched the fight with a mixture of apprehension and excitement.
"I want to fight." He sighed, and sunk his claws into the soft, wet dirt underneath his paws. This new change in atmosphere reminded Brightstar of something he was missing-fighting skills. The tom would have to ask Luxx how to fight properly after this was all over.
"He'll beat 'em, don't worry." He meowed to Lola confidently. He thought of the older tom as a cat to look up to, and one that would protect them from danger. Emerald colored eyes narrowed slightly as he watched the fighting cats, wanting to be able to learn something from this, and not just wait for it to end.
Lola smiled as her new friend squeezed in beside her. He was bigger than she was and she felt sorry for him. The bush had scratched her even at her small kitten size, Brightstar must have been scratched more.
When Brightstar sounded excited about fighting alongside Luxx Lola felt like she was going to be left in the bush by herself, the big cats fighting in front of her. She inched a little closer to the older tom and looked at him, her blue eyes showing her worry. 'Your not going to leave me here are you!' She mewed desperately, clinging to the hope that he wouldn't go. She had never had a fight in her life. Sure she had had play fights with her siblings when they were kits, but nothing for real.
She turned her head to watch the larger cats as they clawed and bit each other with aggression. She was finding herself cowering lower and lower to the ground in utter terror. She had no idea why she had thought this would be better than her twoleg nest, but she was worried about Luxx now. 'Maybe we should help Luxx...' She whispered from her spot close to the ground, barely audible through the noises around her.
Brightstar turned to face her and shook his head slightly, only to have pine needles from the bush rain down on his head from where it shook a branch. He wasn't about to charge off into the fray without letting her know, and all the adult cats were much bigger than him still.
It was tempting to lunge out of his safe spot and claw at a cat's muzzle or feel his teeth sink into another's flesh, if only to rid himself of feeling hopeless. He didn't doubt Luxx's skills as a fighter, but not any one cat was infalliable against injury.
"We could sneak up behind the cat he's attacking?" The tom whispered quickly, excited at the thought of going into battle. I know neither of us are that big yet that we could face a cat singlehandely, but with you, Luxx, and me attacking that cat..." Brightstar trailed off, imagining in his mind an easy victory.
It was hard to stop his tail from lashing against the trunk of the bush-he felt his blood pumping faster than usual at the prospect of his first fight. But, he also wouldn't want to leave Lola all by herself if she didn't want to come along. "I'll stay here if you don't like the idea, I mean, it's only a thought."
OOC: Sorry, my internet was turned off :x
IC: Cyrill was in a bit of a panic, he had no idea as why he had not sensed them before entering the forest. He spotted a she cat, "I suggest you leave before you get hurt, she-trash." He grimaced and growled at her, his large muscular build and overgrown claws supporting his statements.
From her position under the bush with Brightstar Lola felt a little overwhelmed by the thought of attacking a fully grown cat. She was barely out of her home nursery, a kittypet too. She had no idea what the big wide world was about. Yet, she was naive and playful and just wanted some fun with her new friends. So, as the pine needles rained on her little cream head she looked from the tom beside her to the cats battling out side of her shelter.
'Ok, I'll come fight with you.' She mewed, she wasn't very confident, but something about the idea made her rise awkwardly to a sitting position, her head being a little scratched by the branches of the bush. 'Who do we attack first though?' She asked curiously, hoping that Brightstar would know the answer. She hoped Luxx wouldn't mind them helping him even though he had told them to wait there.
Though the snake-tongued filly was not necessarily on good terms with her bluffing tom, the brindled one's bravado never ceased to amuse her. "Humph, not bad Cyrill. But, just leave the talking to me- okay honey?" Twisting to face the bristling tabby, she mused her words with a gleam of mock affection. Reverting her expression back to a cool, blank stare, the calico rotated her attention to the mysterious female with an armed forepaw outstretched. Averting her gaze briefly to scan the surrounding brush, she started off addressing her civilly. But of course, this wasn't Horseflight's style. "So- Care to tell us where your accomplice is, you little maggot?!"
Distracted by the indisputable ambiance of disturbed foliage, blue eyes fired a frosty glare into the shadows. Flexing her claws, the black dorsal stripe upon her coat twinged, sending dark hairs into a tensed ridge. A raw throbbing plagued her paw, the sensitive coverings beneath her feet burned by the bramble still embedded within.
Luxx smirked at Horseflight a moment, the hiss amusing him. "I see you missed me, darling." He meowed to the calico, though his green eyes stayed locked on the current threat. He couldn't help it, he hadn't let himself be himself since he had came across the kits. Thinking about them sent a little wave of worry through him, his smirk faltered a bit, but was soon back in place. Just because he had a soft spot though, didn't mean he couldn't still be himself. He could still be himself, just a bit more modestly.
Trinity had been walking along through the trees, enjoying the quiet, the peacefulness. It was the complete opposite of her and her life, that's why she liked it and probably why she liked staring up at the stars at night. Reguardless, she was still annoyed when the silence that surrounded her was broken. She scented a lot of cats and it seemed like a fight might break out. The brown and white splotched she-cat followed the scent, coming into earshot. Her suspicions were solidified when she heard the word attack. She was about to step into the clearing to see what exactly was going on and to see if she could be of assistance, but she paused. She turned, seeing a bush a little ways off that gave the slightest shudder. She crept towards it, picking up the scent of cats again. But there was something different about this scent. She peered quietly under the bush, too big herself to slide under it. She saw a couple of young kits, one older than the other, but still young. They hadn't noticed her yet, but they seemed to be about to emerge from their hiding spot. "I would stay there if I were you." She meowed, betraying her presence at last. "It looks like a fight may be possible and two little ones like you wouldn't want to be there if it does." She added, her blue eyes serious.
Lola almost jumped out of her skin as a cat suddenly arrived at the side of their hiding bush. Her cream fur had fluffed up making her look twice the size and actually quite silly for a little kit. She hissed trying to make herself seem fierce, but really it had no affect and she stopped when she heard what the cat was saying to them. Letting her fur relax on her shoulders again she didn't move her blue gaze away from the she-cat in case she was not to be trusted. She had never had this instinct until seeing the fight in front of them, she had trusted everyone she came across until now. She was happy and safe to be with Brightstar and Luxx. 'But I need to practice my fighting skills.' She mewed flicking her tail and flexing her claws as if she was raring for the fight in front. She really had no idea how dangerous it would be, too young and naive to realise.
Sorority unsheathed sharp claws, the blood still on them for her recent kills. "I would recommend you don't talk that way."
((WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON HERE?! :o))
