    "It doesn't matter, I suppose. I'll end up dying, anyway. Why not have some fun along the way?"

    "Thank you." He smiled smugly. "Will you marry me?" He asked out of the blue.

    He shrugged, which was difficult for someone pinned underneath someone else. "Worth a try. I always wanted to marry before I died. At least now I can say I put forth a good effort. Wouldn't you agree?"

    "Yeah, I was human once, you know. God." He rolls his eyes. "I also have feelings and dreams and anything else a human boy would have."

    "Good. I'm glad you care so much." He tilted his head a little. "Will you kiss me, then hunter?"

    "Hey, I'm going to die soon. I'm just going through my bucket list: 1. Marry someone. 2. Kiss a hunter, 3. Don't die, 4. Convince hunter with vvampire mojo to let me live... Really, I'm just making this up as I go."

    Starley couldn't help it; she laughed. "Convince a hunter with vampire mojo to let you live? Wow you must be desperate..."

    "Isn't everyone? No one wants to die, sweetheart. So yeah, I'll ues my vamp powers to convince you." He smiled sweetly up at her and adopted a hypnotic voice, "Oh mighty Vampire Hunter, let me live and I shall make it worth your while."

    Starley's eyes went blank for a moment, but then she shook her head sharply, narrowing her eyes to slits. "Sorry, not gonna happen."

    "Okay, okay! Easy." He crossed his eyes to look down at the knife. "So, what's stopping you?"
