    Shadow padded through the rocky woods, he was followed by his best friend. He stopped and turned to face her, "Are you ready for this?" He grinned, he knew that he wouldn't want to be anywhere else, now that he knew what was going to happen to his forest. He didn't want to be a part of it, and he knew neither did his friend.

    Kira nodded to Shadow, "I've always been ready." Her voice like a song and her fur shining gold and tan. She was anxious to go to where they are journeying, it was so beautiful, quiet and big.

    Shadow started to run, as he heard the pack calling for him and Kira, trying to find them. He never liked his pack anyway, they always fought each other for power and food. They can die in the ash for all he cares, he cared about Kira though, she was his only friend and the only one who could ever understand.

    Kira ran at his side, her fur just touching his by the tip. She too didn't want the torture of the pack. She wasn't even born in it, she just had nowhere else to go. She was just a pup when she was taken in, she had no control of it, but now she is free.

    Shadow noticed their fur touching, but he didn't mind it. The truth is he's always loved Kira, he didn't want anything to happen to her. He had never confessed how he felt and never wanted to leave her side. He hoped that she felt the same.

    ooc: Let's skip to when it's night


    Kira stopped running and hopped onto a boulder with a flat top, she lied down and started to groom. "I feel like we're pups again, and we're playing around." She loved the memories that they spent together as pups, she never wanted to let them go.

    OOC: Ok


    Shadow nodded, "Same here." He lied down next to Kira and gave her a friendly lick, "Just think, we'll be where we have dreamed about ever since we were pups." He smiled at the thought. Nothing could beat being with Kira and being in the wonderful place. Lots of food, water, plants, shade, lots of everything!

    Kira returned the lick and set her head on her paws, she closed her eyes and fell asleep. She dreamed that her and Shadow were in the wonderful place and she had confessed her love for him, he did just the same.

    Shadow muttered in his sleep, "No! No! NO!!" He then opened his eyes. He lifted his head, "Just a dream." He said partly to himself and partly to Kira.

    Shadow got up and ran next to her, closer this time than last. His flank pressed against hers and his neck just a small amount away from hers. He started to see the rocky hills, "We need to climb over those hills, then pass the raging river to get where we want to go." He explained.

    Kira nodded, "So when we get in the middle of those hills we're half way there?" She could probably guess the answer was yes, but she wanted to make sure. Kira brought her neck closer to his, they've never been so close, but she felt like they've never been so far apart.

    "Yes, but the hills are very long, you have to pass a lot to get to the river." He brought his neck so that it touches hers. "Oh! Kira, I almost forgot, beware; there is bears that rummage through the hills." His voice was solemn, but it had a hint of protection. He didn't want Kira to run into a bear and get hurt.

    ooc: i'm skipping to when we're at the hills, k?


    Kira looked all around at the rocky, misty hills, she separated from Shadow and now she couldn't find him, it was too foggy to see anything. "Shadow!? Shadow, where are you?!" She cried desperately for him.

    ooc: ok


    Shadow looked around in the fog, his blue eyes straining to see through the fog, his ear twitched as he heard Kira call him, "Kira! I'm over here, follow the sound of my voice!!" He yelled. He heard a "roar" in the distance, "Hurry!" He cried.

    Kira called over to him, "Ok, I'm coming!" she didn't hear the "roar" so she didn't know the urgency, when she was just about at Shadow she heard a loud "ROAR" she ran and "Let's get out of here, now!"

    "Follow me!" He yelled as he soared through the hills until the fog cleared up, he had never run so fast in his life. He saw the moon in the sky and yawned, still panting, "We can't rest, not when there's so many bears." He said as he padded tiredly through the hills.
