  • She put her head in her hands, not wanting him to see her. "God, please make me thin and beautiful." She muttered under her breath, then stared at her wrist, "Why is it still bleeding?"

  • "I think we should wash it, before it gets infected, then bandage it up." her told her.

  • She turned, "Um....I-I-" She couldn't lie to him, "It hurts." She burst out crying, seeming pathetic. Her facade fell, her act fading in seconds

  • For some reason he had a first aid kit with him, so he grabbed the anesthetic wipes and wiped her wrist, knowing that it hurts. Then he wrapped the bandage around her wrist. "I'm Eathan, by the way." he told her.

  • She smiled, wincing, "Tanyia." She screamed as the wound ran too deep to not be agony. She fell to the ground, "STOP!"

  • By the time she had screamed, he had finished anyway. "It's OK, Tanyia." he told her, pushing the wholemeal ham sandwich towards her, in the hope that she would eat it.

  • She dropped it, staring at him, "No. It's not okay Eathen!"

  • "Why not? Please tell me what's going on, or I can't help." he pleaded.

  • She shivered, "Eathen......" she muttered, "have you seen my scars? My cuts? Have you seen they way everyone looks at me like I'm a disease? Have you heard the comments they make? No-one CARES about me Eathen. NOBODY!"

  • "I care. Please tell me what happened to you." he begged again. "Only then can I truely understand you."

  • "You don't want to understand." She said, fiddling with her hair, "Even I don't want to understand." But her voice was weak, she'd have done anything he asked her to. Just because he cared

  • "Eat while you tell me, you'll feel much better for it." he promised her. "It will be like letting a weight off your shoulders."

  • She shook her head, "Food = bad. Blood = good. Pain = what I deserve." She told him slowly, picking the crusts of the sandwich. It was the first thing she'd eaten in five days, and she loved it. But she wouldn't admit it- she couldn't let herself put on MORE weight

  • "See what I see. I see a very skinny girl who is trying not to eat anything. I also see a girl who doesn't understand life. This girl to me, seems like a pessimist. Do you want to be that girl? The girl who dies because she was to weak to see the truth?" he told her, hoping that she would understand him.

  • Her eyes welled up, "That's exactly how I see myself sometimes. That's why the knife is my best friend." She said, gesturing to her arm

  • "The knife also shows you are weak. The only way to help yourself is to eat and to stop cutting yourself." he told her. He didn't want her to go. "People should like you, but you think that people hate you. Don't think like that."

  • She looked at him, "All I've ever known is hate. Why should that change?" She wanted to be wrapped in his arms, safe, secure. But she knew that was wrong.....she shouldn't feel like that, should she?

  • "Because no one deserves that." he told her. He nervously put his arms around her, trying to comfort her.

  • She lent into him, "nobody but me."

  • "What have you done to think you deserve it?" Eathen asked her gently.
