Wolfpaw looked away. Her brother died in the battle of BloodClan by her father, Scourge. It had always been a touchy subject for her. "Well, Dewdrop said I did excellent hunting my bird." She pulled a plump thrush from the pile.

Goldpaw glanced at the thrush "nice going, Wolfpaw!" he said cheerfully munching on his beast rabbit...

"Yeah..." She chewed on her thrush half-heartedly. "I'm going for a walk." She meowed simply.

Goldpaw shrugged and kept eating his rabbit...

Wolfpaw ran through the forest. She had to see her mother. She had so many questions... Wolfpaw reached the Twolegplace. "Mother!"

Pumpkinpaw turned to Goldpaw. "How did you even find a rabbit this big?" she asked. "It's bigger than half the kits in the nursery!"

"found it stuffing itself with tansy, the big brute couldn't even smell me, it was the easiest catch ever..." said Goldpaw and the awed Pumpkinpaw...

Pumpkinpaw's eyes widened. "Wow, that's so lucky! Usually rabbits are so fast!" she mewed.

"well this one was dumb..." said Goldpaw flatly, he huffed and beckoned Pumpkinpaw to have some...

Pumpkinpaw took a bite of rabbit and fell silent. She stared off into space as she ate.

Wolfpaw ran back to ThunderClan camp. She had heard something, and wasn't good.

Pumpkinpaw saw Wolfpaw come running into camp and came over. "Did something happen?" she asked.

Wolfpaw panted, every one of her body parts were screaming. "Yes. Hawktail's dead." Hawktail was one of the most popular and kind warriors, and he was killed in cold blood.

"W-what?! Hawktail is...dead?!" she exclaimed. "How? Why? Who killed him?" she asked. I can't believe it, she thought. "Who would kill Hawktail?"

"I don't know, but ShadowClan stink was all over him." She meowed.

"Shadowclan." she hissed. "We have to tell someone about this!"

"Yes, yes, but who?" Would anybody believe two newly apprenticed she-cats?

"We should tell the leader, and if they're not there then we should probaby tell the deputy." she said.

deputy is hawktails brother, Eagletalon and leader is Bright star (she-cat)
