Time is running out!

    Dragon lay there; feeling depressed. Then he looked over at Dawn. He knew those cats would be back and looking for him and he didnt want anything to happen to Dawn. Dragon dragged himself to his paws and slowly walked over toward Dawn's sleeping form. "Thank you." he whispered; bending over and licking her on the ear. The tom groomed her fur for a bit, knowing that he may not come back. After a while; Dragon got to his paws and headed out into the forest. His chest felt heavy and he had to force his paws to leave the she-cat behind and to not look back. I have to finish this once and for all.

    Dawn woke up at dawn. She looked around and couldn't see the night black Dragon anywhere to be found! After all i did for him... he does THIS! Dawn wondered. She started to have feelings over the compassionate cat, but he abandoned her. She sighed angrily and didnt know what to do with herself for a while, intill she decided to look for him.

    It was dawn and Dragon knew Dawn would be awake by now. He hoped that he was doing the right thing. He kept telling himself it was to keep her safe; but on the inside, his heart didnt agree. The black tom turned a corner into a narrow alley way. "Well, well, well. Who do we have here?" Dragon turned at the voice. "Come back for more? Im suprised you even lived. But im afraid that wont be the case this time." Another cat bounded foward from behind a trash can. "Yeah. You were lucky last time. But this time... Not so lucky." Dragon just stood his ground; his eyes dark. "You remind me of your father. You know, he was easy to kill. You probably will be too." Now many cats were surrounding him. "Haha! I bet he wants his mommy!" one called. "What mommy? She left him moons back!" said another. "No she didnt." said Dragon in a low voice. "What was that?" "She didnt leave me! You killed her! Dont act like im stupid or something! I was there! I may have been a kit, but i remember!"

    Dawn has beenn looking for hours, she kept on following his scent trail, but it just didn't add up! She sighed and a lump in her gut hoped he was ok. She kept on searching for a few more hours, but she wouldnt give up.

    Dragon was then tackled by a much larger tom. "Now im going to get rid of you too." Dragon didnt even fight back. "Why are you doing this?" he asked. "I loved your mother but she chose your father over me! I told them they would pay! Did i keep my word, or what?"

    Dawn trotted by a trash-can, and heard voices. She hid behind the trash can, and eavesdropped. She heard a thud and she heard someone say,"Now im going to get rid of you too!" She heard a different voice,"Why are you doing this? I loved your mother but she chose your father over me! I told them I would pay! Did i keep my word or what?" Dawn gasped, but she did her best to control her self from stepping out in the clearing.

    Pain pierced through Dragon as claws raked down his chest. Hot sticky blood and the smell of copper was everywhere. Crimson splattered the ground and dark red liquid covered his eyes; making it hard to see. Fur flew everywhere as more cats gathered around to join in on the fun. "Just kill me! Get it over with and kill me now!" yowled Dragon. "Now where would be the fun in that?" Dragon said no more. It was no use. Everything was going black and he felt dizzy. But the black tom wouldnt give up that easily. Dragon dug his claws into the cat's flesh and flung him off. More cats lunged at him but he dodged. There is no way im going down without a fight! He clawed and bit at more cats; but in the end, he wouldnt be the victor. This he knew. "Good-bye, Dawn."

    Dawn heard a splatter of blood and some went in her eyes and she cursed under her breath. "Just kill me! Get it over with and kill me now!" She heard a cat say. "Now where would be the fun in that? another cat sneered as he heard teeth,claws,growls, and blood splatters, the one that reached her voice, that screamed loudly over all the noises. "Good-bye Dawn" The cat said. From this, he knew that was Dragon dieing out there. In less than a heartbeat, she flung herself in the clearing, and hissed at all the cats, who were stunned for a heartbeat.

    Dragon's heart-beat seemed to stop. "Dawn..." The fighting stopped for a moment. But only a moment. The large tom from earlier lunged at and tackled Dawn. "So... This she-cat is speacial to you... Is she not?" Dragon dared to take a step forward. "I wouldnt do that if i were you." The larger tom lifted a paw; showing of his long claws and holding close to her throat. "Before i kill you, i want you to have the pain i had when your mother chose another over me." His claws got closer to Dawn's throat. "The pain of losing the one you love."

    Dawn was surprised at the husky tom's weight, and he was talking about a love affair...? That wasn't important now, because the claws of the tom were touching her neck, daring to come yet ever so closer. Dawn's eyes gleamed at Dragon with worry, and she mouthed,"Please..." Her legs felt uncomfertable under the tom's weight, but she shrugged it off and gulped. The only thing Dawn could hear was the rapid broken beating of her heart.

    Without thinking; Dragon lunged at the tom and bowled him over. There was a yowl and a hiss and claws and fur were everywhere. Dragon bit down hard into the tom's throat. The larger tom stuggled then fell still. Dragon let go and looked back at Dawn. "I did it." he said; then he started to get dizzy and the world went black.

    Was Dawn dreaming? She didnt know, and she almost swooned as he saved her life, but instead she gawked at his unconcious body. The other cats fleed, there leader was dead as a doornail, and if Dragon could take down the tom with one paw, he could take the others down with no paws. She thought wisely for a moment, then made a little den surrounding Dragon and her. She gather moss and herbs just in case anything went wrong. She smiled at her unconcious hero, and as night fell, she curled up in a ball and slept.

    "Good job, son" said a very dark brown tom. "Father?" asked Dragon. The tom nodded. Then a black she-cat came into view. "We are very proud of you." Dragon stared at his mother. "I miss you both so much!" breathed Dragon. "We miss you too." said his father. "And one day, you will be a father who can be proud of his son too." Dragon blinked at them. "So im not dead?" He heard his father chuckle. "No, my son. You are not dead. Now go back to Dawn." Dragon diped his head as his parents started to fade.
    Dragon blinked open his eyes. Everything was still a bit blurry and his head hurt more than anything. The dizzy black tom then looked over and saw Dawn. "Dawn...?"

    Dawn woke up to the sound of her name. "Oh, your awake." she purred. "How are you doing?" She asked with worry.

    "Amazed!" she meowed. "You were Bruce Lee out there!" she praised. Then she asked,"You hungry or thirsty?"

    Dragon shook his head. "Niether. I just need some rest." As he said this; Dragon's eyes started to close as he dozed off.

    Dawn shrugged, and watched him sleep. She couldnt stand the urge to sleep, so she eventuallly slept again.

    Dragon woke and his eyes flew to Dawn. He saw she was sleeping so he got to his paws as silently as he could. The black tom stalked down the alley and sniffed the trash cans but found nothing. His stomach growled. With a sigh; Dragon made his way back toward Dawn.

    Dawn shifted posistions, and started dreaming.


    Oh, Splash! I'll name her... Dawn! She will be so determined and happy when she grows up! 6 years later... Dragon, do you know where Twilight went? No Dawn, i dont know where our kit went, I haven't seen him all morning!! 5 years later.... Don't die mother... your the only parent I have left! "Ahh!" Dawn woke up startled.
