  • Wildsong
    [br]

A lovely black arabian mare galloped across the island, glad that the herd she was born into had no other herds living with them or even near them. She tossed her head as she leapt over the fallen log before she stopped just a little bit outside the herd itself. Wildsong shook her mane out and lowered her head to graze. She had never really been one to be with the herd when she ate or did anything else. She was like this especially when it was mating season. Let's face it. I'll never find love. She thought as she munched on the grass, lifting her head to watch all the other couples within the herd. The mare's stallions were keeping their mate's scent at bay, making sure only they could mate with them. "That's only because most of them had been mated with by a different stallion in the past. Those foals were kicked out of the herd as soon as they grew their mane." She said out loud, bending her neck down to take another mouthful of grass.

  • Reno, a 4 year old stallion, 16hh and a black Mustang slowly grazed out of the circle of the herd. He was glad that most other horses were in couples. It was basically him all alone. He grazed some more then walked over to a river near Wildsong.

"Hello, Wildsong." He whinnied to her before bending down his neck to take a sip of the cool water.

  • Wildsong

The mare lifted her head and smiled at the stallion. "Hello, Reno." She whinnied back, bending her head toward the cool water. It tasted so good, so clean and pure. (sorry, low muse today)

  • ( It's fine )

"Some weather, huh?" Reno motions to the sky and watching the sky go into a gray overcast.

  • Wildsong

The mare nodded and looked at the sky. "It's going to rain soon." She mumbled softly, flicking her tail to rid herself of a fly.

  • Reno smelled the ocean breeze and sighed. He loved that smell. A little breeze sent his mane to the other side of his neck and waved like streamers.

"You think the others know?" Reno said, talking about he storm.

  • Wildsong

The mare shook her mane out and flicked an ear. "I doubt it. The leader is sort of blind to that fact. He relies too much on others to find out whether or not there's a storm coming." She said with a stomp of her hoof.

  • He chuckles and nods his head.

"I say we just head to shelter. They'll find some place eventually, and some will probably still be in heat." Reno shudders deme bing when he was stuck in a cave with 2 mares that were in heat.

  • (yea, well he's talking to one right now. -_-)

    Wildsong

The mare lowered her head for a moment. "Then it's probably best if you don't go with the herd into the cave. I know you too well, Reno." She said, giving his shoulder a nuzzle.

  • "That's not what I meant," he ducks his head in embarrassment. "I mean a large cave, Wildsong. Not a claustrophobic one. Like one you can get cornered in easily. AND, you're barely even showing it." He licks her ear and takes one last huge gulp of grass. "Coming or not?" Reno says with a happy smile.

  • (no mare barely shows it)

    Wildsong

The mare inhaled the breeze and sighed, turning to follow him to the herd. He's just so sure of himself. She thought with some admiration.

  • "I'm not telling the herd. You can if you absolutely need to. They'll figure it out soon enough." He says with a mischievous smile and starts walking towards the tree line.

  • ( Wildsong turned to walk towards the herd. Reno said that he wasn't going to tell the herd, that the herd would find out soon enough. Meaning, the storm was about to happen. He was just goiter to stay away from the herd until the storm passes. And what I meant by she was barely showing it, some mares DO barely show it. I mean, it's obviously they are in heat, but my old horse didn't try to get attention by it like other horses.)

  • (Ik. It's not like they're instantly going to become mates. That'd just be awkward.)

Reno walks to the treeline and starting heading towards caves he found last year.

  • (if stallions in real life mate with every mare they see, then it's not awkward XD)

    Wildsong

She watched him go and smiled to herself when she saw his dark coat gleaming in the half light the incoming thunder clouds provided. He's a good stallion. She thought, looking over her shoulder and watching him disappear.

  • (True, but still. What would you do if you met a guy and he instantly wanted to be your mate?)

Reno trotted to the caves, resting inside. The storm instantly hit, strings winds and gallons of rain. He sighed, but instantly thought of Wildsong. He paced. She's going to be stuck with the herd!

  • (toushe XD)

    Wildsong

The mare pushed her way into the cave, her mane plastered to her neck and her dark coat sparkling with drops of water. "I thought I'd keep you company. Father had me help get the herd to the cave they always use to shelter from storms." She said, shaking her mane and sending drops of water flying everywhere.

  • Reno stopped pacing, and instantly sighed in relief. He went by her side to warm her up.

    (Awwhs! <3)
