Adam was 18, and German. He had moved next door to her from Germany last fall. He was very serious, and quiet.

"Come on Farley," he called his dog, "I have school tomorrow, this is the only day we can go for a walk!"

Adam looked at the sky, clouds were gathering overhead. "Come on boy, he have to get home. I don't want to be stuck in a storm."
