Phantom took another pace back. "If you think I'm telling you what, you have another thing coming. I'm already in to much trouble."

"What kind of clan do you belong to?" Ambershine asked. She knew for certain that he was not from one of the forest clans.

"I don't." Phantom said evenly.

Stormstrike nodded "So, your a loner, who knows about the clans' ancestors?" he questioned.

Phantom sighed, and hesitated a long time before saying, "I've given away to much anyway, so I will continue. Not only do I believe in Starclan, but I keep a secret." Moon had trotted away to let Phantom deal with them, he knew this was Phantoms choice, he couldn't influence it. He hesitated some more, searching the other cats eyes.

Ambershine looked back into the loner's eyes, her own eyes carefully hiding any trace of emotion, only betraying faint interest at the tom's words.

Stormstrike flicked his tail in curiosity "A secret?" he repeated.

Phantom doubled back, his ears flattened and his tail whisking the bushes he was considering fleeing into. "I've been hunted for this secret, cats claim I'm insane. I can't tell you!"

Stormstrike noticed the loner might plan to flee in a bush."You can't flee.I know this forest more than any else." then he corrected himself "Well right next to Waterstorms, my mentor." he said flicking his tail, pointing to the bush.

Phantom met his gaze for a long time, and then quietly finally said, "I have a spirit guide."

Stormstrike narrowed his eyes "A spirit guide.Like one of your ancestors is guiding you?"

"Yes." he muttered, his paws tense.

Stormstrike shook his head "At ALL times?"

"We separate." Phantom said. "But ya, basically."

"Fascinating," Ambershine murmured. She had never heard of a spirit guide before, but it intrigued her.

"Can I go now?" he muttered.

Stormstrike wasn't sure what to answer "It's Ambershine's decision." he meowed quickly.

He just grunted. "Why do I bother asking."
