The next day Sandkit woke up and ran around the nursery, jumping over the sleeping cats.
(Can we say it's the day of their apprenticeships? )

Shadepelt woke up and yawned.

hawkkit bounded around, waiting to be an apprentice.

Shadepelt sat up and sighed. "Hawkkit come over here." She scolded. "Your fur is messed up. You can't go out there like this." She said.

hawkkit frowned, but went over.

She licked her fur till it was straight and nice.

Sandkit kept running around, jumping over other cats in her way.

"Sandkit you fur is messed up to come ehre." She scolded.

She quickly padded over to her mother.

She licked her pelt clean and nice.

Sandkit couldn't wait until the leader called out for the clan meeting. I wonder who my mentor will be, I wonder what it's like actually sleeping in the apprentice's den! She thought to herself as she waited.

SHadepelt finished and sighed. 'Don't get your fur dirty."

"Ok...I won't..." She meowed and looked out of the den to see if the other cats were gathering around already.

"It will be a while darling." Shadepelt said.
