Does a she-cat have to be pregnant in order to adopt a kit? the thread im interested in is down below, and im a little confused by it.

Not if the kit can get milk from another source and, if the kit is over 5 to 6 weeks old they can be weaned to all freshkill, though it is generally not healthy to do so soon. So then it'd just be parenting without giving milk.
but generally a queen needs to have been bred in order to be producing milk.
If you mean OOC adoptions, that person looks like they're just trying to fill ready-made family roles in their storyline, by the look of the first post.
