  • Leafsong awoke. Her deep willow green eyes gazed across the full nursery. Littlefur was sleeping soundly, Brakenkit and Mothkit were curled up beside her. Featherwing was snoreing softly. A distant screech of and owl was the only noise. The silent camp was dark and warm. Only a slight breeeze drifted in carrying a small leaf. Leafsong scanned the nursey to make sure all was still. Sunkit, Mosskit and Breezekit were nestled tightly by her flank. The kits soft breathing slowly made her heart break even more. Crickets began to sing and chirp sadly. Her heart felt crushed. She slowly got up, And made sure her kits were not disturbed. She silently made her way out. She stood there in the light of the moon. Her soft calico fur was gently ruffled by the breeze. She silently padded into the leaders den. She saw Thistlestars dark brown fur moveing up and down. He was sleeping. She moved closer. She licked his soft strong head. "Good bye, My love" she said chokeing on a purr. Thistlestar stirred but still slept on. Gentle rain began to drizzle down. Leafsong went into the nursery and sadly padded to the kits. "Remember I will always love you" she meowed, heartbroken. Then she looked one last time at the kits before padding off. She came to the Medicene Den and looked at Cloudwish. "Good bye, remember the queens will take care of my kits" she purred to her sister. Cloudwish looked up at her sister "You will be strong, Just like your tiny kits, you are amazing my sister And remember Sunkit, Mosskit and Breezekit will not forget you, they have Thistlestars courage, Be free" she purred. She licked her head and left. She padded out of camp. She only looked back once. "good bye" she meowed. She walked out to start her new life.
