Sorry if I just missed it somewhere, but...

  • Well, I wanna make a kit character ready to be apprenticed, but I don't really wanna go through the hassle of making the kit's father and mother and littermates, too...Heh, you know? Is there a way I can do that?

  • I believe that you can make up parents and littermates for biographies. =3 I'm not a hundred percent if they can be said as alive, though, as all of my characters have had deceased families.

... I should know this. Seriously. -facepalm- I'll go and try to find out for ya.

  • You can post up a thread in one of the requests boards asking people if they will create cats for your cat's family, if that is what you mean. But your character doesn't have to have a family that is being played in the game.

If that's not what you mean, just let us know.

  • Well, I don't care so much for him having a family (aww, I sound so mean now XD), I just want to be able to play him...and...I didn't know if I was allowed to without having legitimate reasons for his existence, or in other words, his mother and father.

  • *late due to warnings* You can make a kit and ask people if their charrie can adopt it as its own. I did that with my first character. =)

  • You don't have to have the rest of the family in the game in order to make a kit. You simply would fill out the bio form, make your kit six months old, and then go forth with the ceremony immediately. OR you can make a six month old apprentice who has just been made one.

The parents do not need to be in the game, regardless of the age of the cat. The exception is if it is a kit less than four months old (it might be five, but my first character slipped in at four, so there you go!). And even in those cases you can do what the others suggested above :)

  • Yes. You could always make up a history as to how his parents died, and he could be an only kit, or have a littermate who died. Etc, etc. ^^

  • Okay. Thank you all very, very much. I'm glad to know I can already count on the people here to help me if I need it^^

And now I can make my bio =D

  • And I shall attempt to accept that bio before Celegra. Hurrhurr.

Oh, and you're welcome! It's our job to help, after all. ^^

It's also fully legit to have them living and not involved in the life of the character, like Otterpaw was originally. Sealpaw is in action now under Fading's name, but it didn't start out that way. So they don't *have* to be dead.

Just letting you know since you go the promotion I totally missed (congrats, by the way!).

  • Erm...One more question.

In the bio, can I just refer to them as "parents" or "mother" and "father"? I don't want to put down names in case I want to play other characters later XD

  • It's not a good idea to put names down -- they might already be played. xD So, yeah, refer to them as "parents" or "mother" or "father."

  • I put names down on one of mine and wound up playing them! LOL I didn't understand at first and thought that you had to. So yeah, I put the names down and then I wound up playing them and adopting out the siblings. Now there's a huge family plot. Same thing with Otterpaw. I gave her family members names, and with Evensong, but at least her family is all gone now.
