I woke up at 6 o' clock in the morning. "Why can't I ever wake up later!" I yelled in agony. Hello, my name is Brian van Pelt, and I'm a wilderness survivor. I met a girl in the wilderness, and now she is my best friend. We finally got help, but I was sick in the hospital for months. The girl's name was Sarah. Sarah Foster. Heck, why don't I give her a call?
I grabbed my phone and dialed her number. It ringed a couple times, but she didn't pick up. I sat down on my bed, hoping to fall asleep again. I love to sleep. Plus, I live alone, so no one can tell me what to do, or when to wake up, or when to go to bed. I go to bed at like 1. Despising what happened to me in the wilderness two years ago. Here's the story.
I got bit by a black widow. That's it, really. But, I was in the hospital for a year, so. Stay away from black widows!

  • I groaned as my phone rang. I looked at the phone. It was Brian. I smiled and answered it, "I was hoping to sleep a little later..." I told him and I smiled. He is my best friend and helped my dad stop smoking. He was the best thing that happened to me. I had a crush on him after that but I never mentioned it to anyone. I got out of bed and put it on speaker as I cleaned my room. We talked for a bit. Today was my birthday. I'm now sixteen. My dad was out to work so me and Brian had nothing to do. Maybe we could go to the lake today.

  • "Want to go to the lake?" I asked. I always loved the lake. I remember when I held her underwater for a while. She was really mad at me. But, I was just playing. Over the years I have noticed how much of a help she is in my life. A help to be a friend. A help to make someone survive. If only I can pay her back. I wish I could do something for her. I grabbed my whiteboard. I wrote, "What can I do for Sarah?" I asked. No, this is stupid. If it comes along, I will pay her back. But what if the time doesn't come? This is ridiculous.

  • I smiled, "Sure! Let me just get some stuff....hey guess what?" I told him, "I'm getting my driver's licence tomarrow!" I told him. I fixed my bed and I grabbed some stuff from under my bed. I made sure my phone was charged and got some food as I talked to him, "So...how are you doing?" I asked him.

  • [align=center]"Good. How about you?" I questioned. I got out of my aquamarine colored bed. I took of my clothes and hopped into my shower. I live alone, now. When I was in the wilderness there was some kind of virus going around the town. I guess it killed my parents. My new house is small, and Sarah lend me the money. I finally made up the money for her, and I'm going to bring it to the lake today. What if it fell in the river? I laughed at my absurdity. I'm not that callow!

  • I pulled my phone away from my ear and looked at it weirdly. Either it was water or static. I hung up and got my stuff. I got my bathing suit and a change of clothes. I also got a towel and some sunscreen. I put it all in a beach bag and put on some sunglasses. I walked out the door and waited outside on the porch. I called him.

  • "Hello?" I asked. "Should I pick you up in my car? Or should we meet eachother at Eerie?" I questioned. I wonder why she called me. I just called her 5 minutes ago. Oh my god, I didn't have enough to get out of the shower and put on my clothes. "Hey, Sarah, can I call you back? I forgot to put on my clothes. Better put them on now, instead of when we're at the lake." I laughed.

  • I laughed, "I think that would be a good idea....also, my dad took the truck....can you pick me up?" I asked him. I smiled, "Hey, I gotta go before I run my battery down...bye!" I hung up and put on my sunglasses. I waited for him.

  • [align=center]"Of course!" I yelped to Sarah. I chuckled a bit. I felt like I was going out on a date. But,I know I wasn't. But, if I did go out with Sarah, it would be no surprise. She saved my life two years ago. We were in the wilderness for a week. She basically saved me. When I got bit by a black widow she found a helicopter. I was happy with her for doing that. I walked out of my house, and into my car. I started to drive away. Sarah lives about 45 minutes away. Wow! I haven't even noticed it was 7:00 in the morning!

  • I yawned a little and felt my eyes droop. I sighed and rested my head against the glass of the table. I was so tired. I stayed up way too late last night with my sister. First we were talking about the Avengers and Thor...then around three in the morning we were talking about Snow White and the Grimm Brothers when we finally passed out. She's still inside, sleeping like a rock...when she didn't snore. She sounded like a wheezing elephant. I sighed and covered any light in my face with my bag. I would only sleep for only four minutes....four minutes tops. I finally dozed off.

  • I was in the car, and I drove down the street. This street is probably the most busiest street in Missouri, where I live. There was about 10 diffrent lanes, and so many other ways to go. I know if I had to go to Eerie Lake, I have to take a right, and keep going straight. Oh no! I drove over a red light! I was thinking about how to get there so bad that I couldn't pay attention to the road. A cop car was chasing me. I pulled over.

"I'm so sorry, cop. But I have places to be. My friend and I are going to the Eerie Lake." I said. I drove two inches. "Now, the fine just went up!" The cop snapped. "Fine. How much do I owe?" I asked. "100 dollars." He said. I spit out the water in my mouth. It splattered all over the wheel. "Can I make a phone call?" I asked the cop. He replied, "Fine. Make it quick." He demanded.

I called Sarah. I was going to feel really awkward about asking for money. But now I have even more of her to pay back. Oy.

  • I tried not to be greedy, but it was quite a fiasco. "Can I borrow a hundred dollars?" I canvassed. "Look, I'm really sorry, it's just a cop pulled me over and I need to pay a huge fine. I promise I will pay you back every single dime." I annotated. The cop was looking in to my eyes like he just saw an alien. What did I do wrong? Hundreds of people get pulled over everyday. I suspired heavily, which made the cop think I was mad at him. "If you don't get me one hundred dollars, I'm going to call my superviser." The cop ulutated. I gloomed.

  • I sighed. He still owed me money from the house, but he was still my friend. This would have to come out of my whole week's salary, "Sure...I guess...I'll pay." I told him. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. "I'll give you more money when you get here...okay?" I walked inside with my stuff and plopped on the couch. I kept the door unlocked so he could come in. "Now just pay him and come on.." I told him.

  • "Fine, I'll pay. I feel like I take advantage of you sometimes." I said, giving the cop the hundred dollars I owed. I drove away with no permission or dismission. Whatever that means. Oh, man. I hate paying for stuff. Sarah's house is right here! I got out of my car and rang her doorbell.

  • I jumped at the sound of the door bell and fell off the couch. I jumped up and nearly fell trying to keep my balance. I stumbled to the door and my sister poked her head in, "Who's that?" she asked.
I rolled my eyes, "It's Brian...don't embarrass me..." I told her and I opened the door. I smiled brightly, "Hi Brian!" I fumbled around in my wallet looking for my money. My whole week's salary was gone. I glared at Racheal and she smiled. I got my stuff and pulled out the money and held it out to Brian, "Here you go.."

  • "Thanks." I said, waving the money in my face like a two year old. I traversed her to my car, and I slammed the door on my finger while I was closing it. "Ow!" I yelped, wavering in the ear. My finger was as indigo as a purple crayon. "Do you have an icepack?" I interrogated, showing her my nearly broken finger. "I think it's swolen." I droned.

  • I sighed and pulled him inside. I got an icepack for him and my sister smiled. I skipped over to him and sat on the counter top. "Off." I told her.
"No. You can't boss me around," said the fifteen-year-old. She leaned on her elbows and rested her chin in her hands. She looked at Brian and smiled, "Are you okay?" She batted her eyelashes ridiciously and smiled at him. "I don't want your pretty hand getting hurt..." Bleck. Lovey dovey this and lovey dovey that. Sick.
"If you excuse me I'm going to go barf my brains out." I told the two. Rachael glared at me.

  • I flicked my finger at Rachael. It hurt my finger. "Scooch along now." I divulged. Who does she think she is? Trying to get me to like her. What ludicrousness! Wow, I see why Sarah antipathies her. "So, Sarah, you excited?" I catechized, shoving my elbow onto her arm. "I know I am." I jived. My eyes crossed, out of no where. I put my arm around the opening in her arm, like as we were going out on a date. I didn't mind doing this, it's not like I have never met her. I mean she is my best friend. She saved my life. "Let's go." I retorted.

  • I smiled, "Okay!" We hopped into the car and drove towards the lake. It was about a hour from my house. I mostly chatted about the stuff we could do there. I finally shut my mouth after twenty minutes of talking and stayed silent. I looked at my phone and put in some earphones. I turned on my music and hummed to it. I could still hear him if he were to talk, but I could also hear the music too. I have tons of songs in this little thing. Don't even get my started on my favorite. We stayed silent for about another ten minutes when we were slowed down my traffic. I rolled down my window and asked a cop what was going on.
"Some teens crashed on the train tracks racing...." was all he said. I nodded my thanks and sunk into my seat as I rolled up the window. I felt a chill run up my spine as we sat there waiting for the traffic to continue.
