  • The sun had finally left it's highest point in the sky to move above the treetops, casting amazing shades of the raest colors across the sky, though there was still stime before the forest would be engulfed by darkness. A lean figure took advantage of the perfect time to cut it's way through the undergrowth which seperated one terriotry from the next. The patrols had gone by, and so there was no one left to stop her.

A tiny figure broke free of the undergrowth at last, her silver pelt ruffled from the light brush of the ferns and bushes against her pelt. Wide eyes glared blindly across the moore, though her ears perked high as she tried to at least pick up the sound of another cat, or at worst the scent. Yet luckily the last fresh scent was fading. Her tiny body heaved a sigh of relief as she focused her attention on other things, she needed to eat for she had been very unsuccesful in the last two terriotries. There was far to much undergrowth and tree's for her taste. Now she could feel the wind traveling across the open mooreland, ruffling her fur the slightest bit more, she knew there was no place for her to hide out here in the open, yet there was also no need to stay hidden any longer.

At last she made her way forwards quickly, staying close to the scent of the border knowing that at very least if she was caught she could race into the undergrowth.

    { Sorry for the bland post, I'm very full of muse, but to tired to think of how to start off }

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0]ooc| No it's perfectly fine!

ic| An almost scrawny tom skidded easily through his homeland, very much used to the environment. Unlike this oncoming border hopper, he had vision. The look in his eyes, though, didn't seem to be alive. No, the look was distant; but he was very much here. Axis was just wandering aimlessly, not expecting company of anyone.

Axis wasn't even paying attention to his environment, wasn't responding all that much to the warning signs that could have given Rain's location away. He didn't smell the air for danger or grow cautions; he thought he was safe and alone. No one would bother asking if he needed the medicine cat or anything, or stare at his runny nose that seemed to leak like a faucet sometimes.

So, Axis was nearing the border of which Rain was near. His footsteps were light and soundless, breath a bit heavy. The black tom's lungs ached from the hard air that irritated them, but he paid little to no attention to that. He slowed down and panted, growing out of breath.

Axis pricked one ear, then the other; finally getting a grip. He sniffed the air and twitched his left ear, thinking he smelled another cat. That cat just so happened to be Rain, but he obviously didn't know. Axis crept closer to the scent, but broke the silence with a very loud sneeze.

  • Her lean silver figure lowered into a crouch as she heard the sound of a small rabbit a few fox lengths before her. Shocked not only by her luck, but by the fact that the rabbit hadn't dashed of yet, she took her chance. Scenting the air closely to try to pinpoint the rabbit.

She had been concentrating so hard that the sound behind her was so unexpected even she jumped. She heard the rabbit dash off and new she had not only lost her prey, but her cover. She seemed to hesitate a long moment, as if trying to size up whoever was behind her, of course it was a windclanner and she could also guess it was a tom. As far as size went she had no clue what she was facing, though whoever her was, he was sick.

Finally turning to face the tom, she let her silver eyes widen as if she were surprised to see him, yet her blind eyes could only blankly meet his. "Who are you?" she asked suddenly, knwoing the sound of his voice would help her determine more. It was obvious she hadn't expected a cat such as Axis to be here at this time, he had caught her.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][size=8]Axis waited a few moments before actually visually revealing himself; he had done so when she jumped out and onto the opening. The tomcat pushed through the leaves and unmasked his identity [not that Rain could even see anyway]. He allowed her to see him, but it took her a few moments to realize her visual disability.

"I don't have to tell you my name," Axis smoothly meowed in an even tone, but he was actually panicking on the inside. He had never dealt with a border crosser, and he could very easily just blow away his pride if something went wrong. The sick boy tried to hold in his breath so the stench of illness wouldn't act as a smog in the air.

  • Rain hesitated, all her senses alert for any movement he made, any sound, any thing. She had never actually been caught across any border before and the fact that this tom had caught her was a surprise. Standing her ground, she looked blindly at the tom, though for a split second it looked as though she were studying him.

She was unsure of what he should do right now, she had no clue who stood before her and what they were capable of. She only knew his clan and gender. Hearing his comment, she was snapped from her sudden thoughts, tilting her head slightly as she considered her own response. "And why is that?" she asked at last narrowing her eyes slightly. her claws dug into the ground as she prayed she would not be forced to fight tonight.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][size=8]Axis' gaze grew softer, feeling a bit pity for her blindness now. He decided not to be so tough on her, but he was still firm with his voice. His ears twitched, making sure no one else was around before he picked up speech again. "Because you're apart of the other clan, right? Why would I give my information out to you?"

Axis shifted his weight and looked to the side, not giving her a chance to reply right away. "Look, if you pick up the pace I'll let you go with a warning. But if I catch you around here again, you'll be sorry." Axis tried to sound threatening, but he was failing miserably.

  • Listening carefully to the toms word she picked up on his pity, not only that but the fact that his threats were failing miserably at the moment. Ignoring his words, she sat right in front of him, it was obvious she wasn't planning on going anywhere yet. She seemed to look away as she responded to him. " Well whoever you are, I really don't need your pity" she muttered, and it was obvious she was biting back a sigh.

Turning to look at him again, or at least to face him she hesitated again. "I don't have a clan, i'm surprised you don't recognize the smell of a loner" she explained though it was obvious she was hiding something. ust a little over a moon ago she had been a part of a clan, though she had grown thinner and weaker since then.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][size=8]Axis visibly flinched, instantly thinking that the blind she-cat read his mind. He didn't know the pity weighed down his actions or voice, and he still didn't even realize it after she had pointed it out. At first the tomcat was speechless, but he regained his composure and carried on his part of the conversation.

"Well, you smelled a bit like clan.." Was all Axis meowed. Honestly, his sense of smell wasn't at its greatest in the moment. It was blocked off by disgusting snot that [for some reason] managed to stay in his nose for this long. Odd, isn't it?

  • She sighed on fought to not let her shoulders slump, she was blind. She didn't need to look any weaker before him. " I was from a clan" she admitted, immediatly regreting her words, but she just simply shrugged and moved on. "I thought i'd been out here long enough the scent would have fade, but i guess it hasn't been that long" she added sighing as she remembered the past moon or so. She honeslty couldn't remeber how long it had been.

"And I was kind of hoping you wouldn't recognize the smell through that stuffy nose of yours" she added, looking back at the tom. She was blind, but she could still smell just fine, maybe even better then most. She was use to searching for these signs by now to describe a cat, and so far she was learning a lot about this one, whoever he was.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][size=8]Confusion mopped up Axis' brain and clogged his vision. What could a blind cat possibly do to get kicked out of her own home? That was a mystery that Axis didn't really wanna solve, but hey. Curiosity killed the cat. "What do you mean you used to be in a clan?" Were the words that flew out of Axis' mouth.

The she-cat's next words were embarrassing. He shyly looked down and blushed underneath his fur, glad she couldn't see him. He might have looked even weaker than her, or a coward.. whichever is worse. The black cat just shut up from there on, waiting for a reply that he was silently praying to not come.

  • She chuckled slightly, looking at him in blind eyes which were clouded over with surprise. "Hey I don't even know your name and now you want to know my history?" she joked, trying to ease the tension between them. She wished she could see him now, for she knew she had surprised him quiet a bit, in fact she was use to doing that to most cats by now. But she still didn't like standing before someone without even knowing their height.

She shook those thoughts away, she would probably be out of here soon anyways. Most clan cats would have sent her away as soon as they saw her clouded eyes, though somehow she had been fortunate to cross one who wouldn't chase her off, or at least he hadn't yet, but the day was still young.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][size=8]Axis cleared his throat before speaking, breaking up the flem that felt like rising out of his throat. "Erm, yes it is my business.. You're on my clan's territory.." He didn't sense that she was joking until it was too late, and gave a very delayed &nervous chuckle. He hid his face with one paw, even more embarrassed.

  • She chuckled tilting her head slightly as she did so, she could tell the tom was embarasses just by his tone. She simply shrugged at his response, her fluffy tail wrapping around her small paws as she did so. For a moment it looked as though she could see the tom, and with how much she knew about him already it was like she could, that is if she knew what his appearance even was. "Let's just say im not from this forest and leave it at that" she replied at last, looking blindly down at her own paws for a moment as she thought.
