Tribe Of Lights That Dance In The Sky
[img width=510 height=468]http://www.artcountrycanada.co…_island-lake-temagami.jpg[/img]
In northern Ontario,
Deep within canada's boreal forest,
Lies a tribe of cats who bury themselves in seclusion.
Not many reach their paradise,
And those who do are strong and brave.
Are you up to the challenge of reaching their island home?
History
[fancypost bgcolor=white; border: 2px navy dashed; border-radius: 30px; width: 450px]
In a time of new beginnings there were only travellers and a few TallOne-pets. Travelers and TallOne-pets a like joined groups, seeking companionship and called themselves 'clans' or 'tribes'. Then a tribe who had lived in peace for a long time, hidden from TallOnes and other cats. But then a great drought came to their forests, their kits and elders died, and they fled to the mountains. They fell in love with a mountain territory, lived in caves inside the mountain itself. For moons they lived in more peace, finally safe from the dangers of the valleys below. Then cats began to go missing, and it was later found out that a wolf pack was hunting them. The tribe was in dispare- the safe house they thought was perfect, wasn't safe after all. The tribe fled, and hid so no more cats could go missing due to the wolves attacks. After weeks of searching for safety they hid on a TallOne's floating machine, thinking they would be safe for the night on the side of a vast lake. When they awoke in the morning the Floating TallOne Land, as they began to call it, had drifted away from the shore, and landed on a vast uninhabited island. The leader could find no way on - or off - the island, and he thought this was a place the tribe could finally be safe from the hazards of the outside world.

Religion
[fancypost bgcolor=white; border: 2px navy dashed; border-radius: 30px; width: 450px]
The tribe believes in The Ancestors, The Ancients and The Land Beyond.
The Ancestors: The cats of the past, cats that have past on to live in the sky light. When a cat passes on their spirit leaves their body, climbing the stars until they reached The Land Beyond. The Ancestors watch over the cats and can lend living cats their skills- swift speed, battle moves- skills that will help take care of the tribe.
The Land Beyond: The Land Beyond the stars, where the noble tribe members go when they pass on. This is heaven for the tribe cats.
The Ancients: The leaders of the past, they send prophecies to the leader and send punishment to cats that deserve it. They oversee the clan, and keep it safe. They are the equivalent of Starclan leaders.
When The Lights Dance: This is a time of sacred peace. When the lights in the sky dance, the tribe cats feast on prey, and fast the next day. This is a time when the Ancients are closer to the tribe, and it is a time of great celebration. When the lights dance it is a show of the Ancient's approval, and the leader often speakers to the leader.
Most cats in the tribe believe in The Ancestors and The Ancients, though some loners that have found their way onto the island don't believe in them.

Teritory
[fancypost bgcolor=white; border: 2px navy dashed; border-radius: 30px; width: 450px]
The tribe lives on a large island, with a base of rock. There is little soil on the Island, and is normally made up of rotten moss and pine nettles. The island is covered in pine trees, firs and spruce, with few birch and aspen. There are many good hunting spots, but there are also barren spots where there are only a few trees, and mainly just bushes and moss. The island is completely surrounded by water- as it is an island- but there is a smaller island across a narrow channel called destiny-island, and a beach on it called destiny beach. The island is parallel to the water on one half of the island, gently sloping upwards, but the other drops off in a sheer cliff. The island is cut in two by a small river, where fish like to spawn in the season of snow-melt, creating a good source of food. There is a log to cross the river, to get to the other side of the island. The river ends over a waterfall, falling off of the high cliffs that border the eastern shore. Here are places in the territory:
Dark Spruce Forest:
Dense forest filled with dark pines, like Black Pine, Hemlock, and Yew . Pine needles litter the floor, while pine cones grow over head. The sun's light has a hard time reaching the ground, and it is usually dark and cool under the thick branches.
Forest of Light:
The exact opposite of Dark Spruce Forest, Filled with bright green trees like Eastern White pine and a few birch trees and aspen trees.
GrassyMeadow:
A large grassy plain, filled with shrubs and few trees. This is the grassiest part of the island, as there is actually little grass anywhere else on the island.
BrambleBarrier/SharpCliff:
The Sharpcliff is on the eastern side of the island, a full tree-length from the top of the cliff to the sharp rocks below. This is one of the most dangerous places in the island, because a cat could easily misjudge how close the cliff was and fall to their death. The Bramble Barrier, as it's name suggests, is a barrier of bramble and blueberry bushes circling the Sharpcliff. It would never be recommended to enter these bushes, because the ground drops sharply beneath their branches.
RushingFalls
At the highest point of Sharpcliffs there is a large waterfall, that pours over the side. The small river that cuts the island in half increases in speed, until it falls over the cliffs in a small waterfall. No cat would dare go swimming in the Smallriver when it begins to get narrower, and deeper, nearing the Rushingfalls.
PreyIsland
PreyIsland is a small island across a narrow straight of water. Cats can reach the island after a long swim, but the island is sacred and you need permission to go over. Every new moon, and in times of need, the Lightwatcher swims the straight to receive messages from the Ancients.

Camp
Camp is on the southwest end of the island, on high ground and in the Forest of Light. Near camp you can leave the forest and find yourself on the end of the island, the rocky ground sloping gently into the water. The camp is surrounded by thick bushes, and a few boulders stacked up to create the only easy access into the camp, the entrance. The cam entrance is a pile of boulders with a gap through them just big enough to fit to fit a cat.
Lightwatcher's den
The Lightwatcher lives near the entrance of camp, inside the pile of boulders. The boulders were said to have been put there by the Ancients themselves, but nobody knows. There is a small tunnel leading into a secretive den, that is has a sandy floor. The Lightwatcher rarely shares his den, but once he has chosen a Lightwatcher Heir, they will sleep in the same den once the Lightwatcher Heir changes from Kit to Learner.
Starreader's Den
Starreader and Starreader Learner share a den. The den is outside of camp, found on the edge of the island, near camp, outside of the Forest of Light. There is a small cave, with a bush above the entrance, It's roots hanging in front of the entrance. The den is big enough for two cat's to make nests in it, perfect for the Starreader and their Learner. The Starreaders prefer to sleep outside of the den, used to sleeping outside and under the light of the stars, unless it is cold, or rainy.
Herbhealer's den
The Herbhealers den dwells beneath a pile of rocks with a log hanging over top. The rocks create perfect shelves where the Herbhealer can store their stalk of herbs. There is a separate, larger area where sick and injured cats can rest and recuperate, and there is a small pool of water so they have easy access to a drink. Away from the sick cat area, there is a small tunnel, and if you go down this tunnel you can find the nests of the Herbhealer, and the Herbhealer Learner.
Multi dens
Under a series of bushes, near the Herbhealer's den, there is a hole large enough to fit two cats, but below that, and through a series of tunnels you can find the Preyfinder's den, Tribeguard's den, and their Learner's den. If you take the route to the far left, you will be in Tribeguard sleeping quarters, one tunnel right of that is the Preyfinder's den. The Preyfinder Learners and the Tribeguard Learners are on the far right, sharing a den.
Nursery
The nursery is placed away from the rest of the camp, surrounded by dense bushes. Under a certain thorny bush you will find the Milkgivers and their kits, and they are completely protected from the elements even in winter when the bush is weighed down by snow, because of a large pine tree that hovers above of the bush protects it from the falling snow.
Storyteller's den
Right next to the Multi dens, is a large clump of bushes, that create the comfy home of the Storytellers. They are close to the fresh kill pile, and are within sight of the Herbhealer's den, making this the choice place for the Storytellers to live out the rest of their peaceful lives.

The Lightwatcher has 9 lives, given to him by the Ancients. The Lightwatcher speaks to the Ancients often, and has a very special bond with them. He can choose to tell the Starreader the vision the Ancients give him, but he/she doesn't have to.
Lightwatcher Heir
The Lightwatcher Heir is picked by the Lightwatcher to train and eventually become the leader of the tribe. The leader is given a sign by the Ancients, telling him which kit will be the next Lightwatcher. The heir is usually picked the when the Lightwatcher is on his/her 7th life or so, knowing that end of his/her life would be arriving sooner or later. They must learn how to read the lights that dance in the sky, learn to interpret the will of the Ancients, as well as the stars, plus some healing skills making them have to learn the most skills in the tribe.
Starreader
The Starreader is a cat who reads the stars for messages from the Ancestors and Ancients. The Starreader normally gets signs from the Ancestors, as they give out prophecies, but sometimes he/she receives signs from the Ancients as well. The Starreader has to inform the Lightwatcher of their vision, unless they are directly instructed not to by the Ancestors. Starreaders also know how to hunt, and a small bit of fighting, to be able to serve their clan in the best ways possible. Starreaders normally sleep in until sun-high, and stay up past moon-high reading the stars most of the night. Starreaders are forbidden to have kits.
Starreader Learner

Tribeguard
The Tribeguards are cats that have been taught how to fight and take care of their tribe. They are taught how to fend off eagle attacks as well as attacks from foxes, badgers, wolverines, and other predators. Tribeguards protect the Preyfinders while they hunt, and also guard the entrance to camp. Tribeguards are normally quite bulky, and strong.
Tribeguard Learner
Cats that are picked as kittens, by the Lightwatcher to become the next generation of Tribeguards. They are assigned a mentor, an experienced Tribeguard, who teaches them how to protect their tribe.
Preyfinder
Preyfinders hunt for the clan, feeding all others before themselves. Their main goal is to provide food for the tribe, and teach Preyfinder Learners to hunt. They know few fighting moves, and are usually protected by Tribeguards as they hunt in case of trouble. They are usually the longest legged cats of the tribe, and are by far the best trackers.
Preyfinder Learner
Cats who is picked at birth by the Lightwatcher to become the next generation of Preyfinders. They are taught by a single Preyfinder how to hunt and scent.
Milkgivers
Milkgivers are Queens expecting or nursing kits. They will return to their regular duties when the kits turn 7 moons. If a Starreader has kits, they are taken care of by another cat- the Starreader is forbidden to have kits, or care for them if they do have kits.
Kits
Kits are to young to begin training. Once they reach 7 moons they will begin to train as a Learner. The Lightwatcher picks if a cat will be a Preyfinder or Tribeguard, or the Starreader will pick them to be the next Starreader, or the Herbhealer will pick them to be the next Herbhealer when the kits are first born.
Storytellers
Storytellers are elderly cats that have served the clan until they cannot, whether from old age or injury. They are to be treated with respect, and if you do you may get to hear one of their legendary stories!
