-Viper has handed over the Flock of Striking Lightning to me, Autobotschic.
-The flock's valient and bold female leader, Syriana, has died of a broken neck and an illness, leaving Odessa to lead the flock.
-Odessa is taking the flock to The Beyond after they hold a ceromony for the late Syriana.

About:
The Flock of Striking Lightning(FoSL) is an owl flock that was made by Journey and Viper. The owls in this flock are nomadic, and travel with one another throughout the Owl Kingdoms. Yes, this does take place in the world of Guardians of Ga'hoole, but you don't need to read or be a fan of the books to join. Also, this is a semi-advanced RP. This means that all of your posts must have proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Ranks:
Leader: The leader of the flock are in charge of the flock. They guide it and keep a simple, but essential order. (HP)
Deputy: This owl keeps the flock in check when the leaders aren't around. If one leader dies, the deputy will takes it's place and a new deputy chosen. The Deputy is also the Head of the Elites. (HP)
Heads: These owls head all of the divisions(jobs) in the flock. Also teaches the Scouts to predict the weather. (HP)
Guardians: This portion takes up the main part of the flock. Each guardian is in a division.
Recruits: These are adult owls that have just joined the flock, and need to be trained in the lifestyle and divisions.
Trainees: These are owlets that have just learned how to fly and hunt, making them eligible to train to become a guardian and get selected for a division.
Owlets: These are baby owls that have not yet learned to fly or hunt.
Nurses: These are female owls that have eggs or are raising owlets. Though the flock is nomadic, there are special, hidden camps made for the nurses and the owls that guard them.
Maps:
The Southern Kingdoms: This is where the flock stays most of the time.

The Northern Kingdoms: The flock rarely travels here, due to the harsh climate and cold winds.

The Beyond: The flock rarely travels here also. It is a harsh climate, but not as harsh as the Northern Kingdoms.

Rules:
1. Follow the WCRPG rules and guidelines! (common sense)
2. No spamming! (Posting more than once in a row, advertising, using completely OOC posts with no RP. Click Here for the Chat and Planning Thread
3. From your first post and on, put a number on it to keep track of your posts. This will help you get privileges and get promoted faster. You do not have to if you only want to have one character.
4. Keep your owls realistic! One thing that is good to know is about owl eye colors. Any owl in the family of Tytonidae(Barn owls, grass owls, masked owls, etc.) MUST have pure black eyes. Other than Tytos, most owls either have amber, brown, orange, or yellow eyes, not red, blue, purple. etc.
IC Rules:
1. All owls must obey the leader.
2. No owls may travel to another kingdom without getting the leader or deputy's permission.
3. All guardians must respect the head of their division.
4. All interfering loners and free-flyers must be taken to one of the leaders.
Privileges:
Roleplaying any kind of animal other than an owl is based on post counts and rank. As I said before, you may have up to three charries, but a fourth one that is not an owl is permitted. For some of these, you must PM me. But for most, just post that you want one in this thread and once you're approved, you may make a bio for it. All of these counts are subject to change any time for any reason. :)
1. Blind Nest-maid snake: 35 posts
2. Seagull: 40 posts
3. Wolf(may only be RPed in the Beyond): 55 posts
4. Kielian snake:(must have had at least one trip to the Northern Kingdoms with the flock) 60 posts
5. Ability to hold two non owl charries: 50 posts
6. Hawk: 50 posts
7. Falcon: 50 posts
8. Eagle: 60 posts (Expensive because they are the strongest bird known in Hoole)
9. Bat: 35 posts
10. Crow: 50 posts (this may be a friendly crow that is part of the flock, or a hostile loner crow)
11. Flying Venomous Snake: 70 posts
12. Scroom: 85 posts (A Scroom is an owl's spirit, much like a Starclan cat. The only thing is that all scrooms are owl spirits with unfinished business on earth, and can talk to an owl that they had a connection with in the past. They can barely finish a thought, so it's not always a clear conversation. They usually disappear after their business is finished. You MUST PM me(Autobotschic) to get approval/disapproval. :) )
13. Bear: 135 posts (Expensive because they are one of the strongest animals, only used in the Beyond.)
14. If you have any other suggestions, please PM me!
Divisions:
Scouts: Owls in this division scout out ahead of the flock and report to their head, the leader, or the deputy about anything strange, unusual, or if all is fine. They learn to predict the weather, taught by the Heads, as well, to let the flock know if severe weather is coming.
Guards: These owls fly on the outer edges of the flock to guard the owls inside. They are also posted at camps where the Nurses raise their young. They are often the best fighters of the divisions.
Colliers: These owls are told by the scouts if a forest fire is near. If so, they collect coals and embers from the fires to trade with Rogue Smiths for battle claws, roosting places, food, etc.
Healers: Owls in this small division are good at spotting and carrying certain herbs and insects that can be used to heal an owl's wounds. You may not be in this division automatically. A Trainee or Recruit must be chosen for it.
Crafting: The owls of the crafting division craft weapons and tools out of bones, wood, or anything they can get their talons on. Note: This is NOT smithing(crafting metals and rocks), but crafting(crafting wood and bones).
Elites: This is the rarest division to be chosen for. It means that a trainee was so good at everything that they qualified to be in such a high division. Also, if a guard or scout proves very good at his job, he/she might be transferred to this division. (You may not ask to be in this division. If your character proves very skilled and you are active, you might be offered this ;) )
Hunters: This essential division is good at finding food and hunting for the flock. (You most likely would get this division for second or third characters, since it is the smallest)
If you have a suggestion for a division, please PM me for us to discuss it! ![]()
