I kept flying forward silently. And tried to keep Avi and Cammie out of my mind.

Reidar flew right next to her, wingtip-to-wingtip. "It shouldn't take too long to get there." he said, though it would be about another hour or two before they got there. "Are you hungry?"
-
I nodded. "Starved. But... we don't have money, spent it all on this cheapo." I held up the pistol I'd bought earlier.
-
"Ah, but I got money. They didn't take it from me when they captured me." said Reidar, patting a bulging pocket of a pair of cargo shorts he now sported. "I have enough to take care of us for a while."
-
"That's a really good thing." I nodded, grateful for the money.
-
"Don't worry. We'll be fine. It'll be about dark when we get there. We can sleep in the park or something and then get going tomorrow morning." said Reidar. "Unless you want to stick around a couple days."
-
"Either way is good." I said. "But that's not what I'm worried about."
-
What's wrong then?" he asked, cocking his head to one side.
-
"Just wondering how the other's are coping..." I replied. It was part of the truth, not the whole.
-
"They'll be fine. Fang and Iggy won't let anything happen to them." said Reidar reassuringly
-
I shook my head. "Thats not it. Just forget I said anything."
-
"Oh come on, now you're starting to worry me. What's really eating you?" he asked, flipping upside down so he could stare into her eyes as he flew below her
-
"I'm just hoping none of them, or Airi, aren't going crazy because of what happened." I looked down at him.
-
Reidar was quiet for a moment. "Well there's nothing we can really do about it anyway. Who knows where they are right now? It'll be easiest to just not think about it."
-
"Yea..." I agreed softly.
-
"Sure isn't much down there." he said, indicating the random fields and forests below. "Farms mostly, some strip mining and logging. Looks like a boring place to live."
-
"A lot of open space to fly..." I shrugged.
-
"There is that. And at least its not burning hot like back home is." observed Reidar, watching the countryside below.
-
"That just makes it all the better that I'm still wearing long sleeves." I grumbled.
-
"I kinda prefer colder weather. I've discovered that my body gives off an excess amount of heat." said Reidar with a shrug. "So I'm always warmer than most people."
