"WOOO!" Shouted a black and white cat as she fell out of the tree. Fly blinked, then jumped right back up. "Mmkay...let's try this again!!!!" She raced up the tree, the started jumping from branch to branch. "I beleive I can Fl-" She hit a branch, the grabbed ahold of it and scrabbled on. "Whew, THAT knocked the breath outta me! That'll be enough for a while. Just as she was about to jump to another branch, a bird flew right past her, and she fell to the ground. She jump up, wobbled a little bit, then started running towards camp. She had a couple cuts on her pelt, along with leaves stuck on her. At least I didn't break or sprain myself...That hurt.

Oak padded forward and scented the air, he was suppossed to be hunting, but hadn't caught anything as of yet. He looked up as he heard a rustling in the trees to see Fly doing whatever she did. Sitting down to watch, he curled his thick brown tail around his large forepaws. A great yawn escaped his jaws as he watched the scene above him. As she began to race back to camp, he followed her, his tail held high in the air. "Hey, Fly!" He called out to her, trying to catch his breath as he ran. "Grown any wings yet?" Oak smirked at his joke and continued to run. This'll be my work-out for the day.
-
Fly stopped dead, and whipped around. "Excuse me?" she hissed, "I don't see YOU getting as much exercise as ME!!" She ran past Oak, then ran up a tree onto a branch. "I bet you can't even catch me!!"
-
Paperclip trotted lightly through the thick grass, her whiskers bouncing up and down at each step.
Fly's sudden yell startled her, and she bounced over to the tree Fly had clambered up.
"Oooh, fun!" she meowed in delight. "Got any air yet? I did yesterday...at least I think I did..." She sat back, furrowing her brow in thought. "Hmm..." She bit her lip, confused. Had she or not? It was too overloading for her mind to take, so she started batting at her tail, twirling round and round.
"Don't give up!" she giggled in a rather muffled voice, her thick fluffy tail wedged in her mouth. -
"Fly!" The excited cry, almost squeal, came from a brown-and-black she-cat. It was none other than Ellen, in one of her bubbly cheerful moods. "How's it goin', buddy? Still working on flying?" She glanced up, a wistful expression in her brown eyes. "I would join you, except I'm not sure I'll ever achieve your level of skill. And it'll be kinda embarassing to die because I jumped out of a tree from a too-high height..."
She trailed off, and shrugged apologetically.
-
Oak smiled, not at all fazed by the she-cat's hostility. He looked up at Paperclip and Fly, wondering for just a moment if they really could fly. 'Course they can't! He told himself, shaking his head to clear the absurd thoughts from his mind, though his eyes continued to gleam with interest.
Cherrypaw bounded forward, she loved games and all that crashing about sounded like the best of games! "Fly! Paperclip!" She gasped, looked at the two cats sitting upon the branch and ignoring her father who sat safely on the ground. "Can I come up?" Her eyes danced with unhidded enthusiasm.
Oak grunted and padded back to camp, tired out from his long run.
-
Paperclip clawed her way up onto a higher branch, swaying perilously as her mottled fur rippled in the light breeze. Sending leaves spiralling down among the small group of cats gathered at the foot of the tree, she grinned down at them. "Come on up! You can catch some real air here!" She tried to demonstrate how much air there was up among the branches, waving her forepaws this way and that. The branch swayed perilously, so she wrapped her thick tail around it. Suddenly a particularly violent gust of wind swept her off her paws.
She was hanging upside-down, her tail tightly curled around the branch. Unfazed, she meowed to the seemingly upside-down group of cats, "What are you all doing the wrong way up? Get some sense into your heads and come up here!" She giggled, swinging back and forth, shaking yet more leaves from the long-suffering tree. -
Fly laughed, then started to jump around. "Watch me fly to that tree!!!" she meowed happily. The determined cat started at the beginning of the branch, then ran towards the end. She jumped, landed on the next branch perfectly. She jumped down, landing on her paws. It's okay, Ellen! Me and Paperclip will help you if you're stuck." She smiled and put her two front paws on the tree.
-
Cherrypaw grinned and cautiously clawed her way up the thick bark of the tree. "I made it..." She sighed with relief as she stepped on to the lowest branch, looking down at the forest floor. Feeling a bit dizzy, she wrapped her tail around the branch, copying Paperclip who seemed to know what she was doing. To stop her legs from shaking, she sat down on the branch, still gazing at the land below her. "I didn't realise how scary this was..."
-
OOC- I'm not sure Cherrypaw should copy what Paperclip does...Right now she's swinging upside down from the tree!
lolPaperclip giggled even louder as she swung back and forth upside-down like a pendulum.
"Yep, so scary!" she yowled excitedly. She wondered why Cherrypaw seemed so cautious about climbing trees. It was our gift! "It's great how all cats can escape danger by climbing!
Except those poor pregnant she-cats," she added after a pause. "They need to understand that eating so much that their bellies drag down upon the ground isn't gonna help with their depression!" She nodded forcefully, and the branch groaned slightly in reply. -
Fly ran up the tree, jumping onto a couple branches above Cherrypaw. "It's also really fun, good, exercise!!!" She added cheerfully. "It's okay, Cherrypaw. You'll get the hang of it!" After she said that, she leaped gracefully from branch to branch.
-
Ellen looked up, a rather apprehensive expression on her face. She immediately snapped at herself. She'd fought and killed warriors before, put up with the incessant whining of kittypets, fetched tuna for Elliefang, only to be daunted by a large tree?! No way!
Padding up to the tree, Ellen stood on her hind legs, front paws resting lightly against the tree. She unsheathed her claws, digging them deep into the bark. What had her mentor taught her about tree climbing? Oh wait. She never had a mentor.
Deciding to just count on her luck, Ellen pulled herself up quickly, her claws gripping the bark. This was harder than it looked.
-
Fly looked down at the struggling cat. She jumped down a couple branches, just enough to reach Ellen. "D'ya think you'll need some help? I don't want you to fall down and die. That would be...really bad." She beckoned with her paw.
-
"NO!" Ellen all but roared, obviously incensed by the thought that she needed help. Oh well. She was just proud/dumb like that.....when she was in the mood. A resolute expression on her face, she dug her claws in harder, and launched herself up, paw by paw, until she reached the first branch.
"This is kinda fun...." She remarked.
-
"And, once you get the hang of it-" Fly jumped up andother branch, then jumped to another tree, and other, and then back to where she was,"-you can battle more easily! Using the trees as an advantage is amazing!"
Fly looked up at Paperclip, wondering how she'll be able to get back up. -
"Yeah, thanks for the pointers Fly!" Ellen exclaimed, scrambling agilely up the trunk, and to another branch. Then her face fell. "But, WindClan territory has so little trees! And some others as well!" She meowed, dismayed.
Deciding she was high enough, with plenty of branches to catch hold of if she fell, Ellen balanced on her current branch, and leapt to another one. "This is great!" She yowled.
-
"Yea, when your really high, just don't look dow-ahh!" She fell off her branch, but grabbed another one before she hit the ground. "And....ALWAYS be prepared when you fall." She scrabbled back onto the branch, and jumped up. A bird was sleeping in it's nest on a thick branch. I could do a bit of hunting now, she thought. Sneaking carefully along the branch, Fly got closer and closer. The bird awakened, and flew off. But Fly jumped up and bit it. As she fell, she grabbed onto a another branch on a tree and spat out the bird. PLOP! It fell to the ground. "That was close..." she gasped.
-
Ellen looked down. And gulped.
She was....so....high....UP!
This was frightening. No wait. She wasn't that high up, was she?
Her long tail twirled uneasily, claws gripping the branch. At least this was a good runaway tactic. Especially from dogs. Not that there were any dogs here, or anywhere in the forest. Except that small annoying scrap she saw once, and it was tied up to its twolegs.
"Nice catch Fly!" She called, scrambling to another, higher, branch.
-
"Th-thanks." Pulling herself up, she looked at the ground where the bird fell. I wonder how birds feel when we attack them... Fly always longed to be like birds, but alot of cats thought it was a silly idea. Who needs them? I bet I can jump higher and farther than them! After climbing down the tree, she buried her bird. "Hunting while in the tree can be dangerous, but fun!!!" she shouted to Ellen.
OOC: Lol we should get a dog in this thread :P
-
((Okay! I have Fishystick/Sticks! Only, he's supposed to be attacking a kit....elsewhere. Still in SunClan.....Er, time paradox? *weak laugh*))
"Yes, well, I think the birds were frightened off...." Ellen meowed dryly. Tensing her muscles, she sprang to an even higher branch, then to a totally different tree. "Wow Fly! I can't believe why I never did this!" She yowled.
Unfortunately, the two cat's yowls and shouts had attracted the attention of something rather dangerous. The scent for fresh-kill also helped.
Sticks wasn't in a good mood. Not that he had ever been in a good mood since those pesky little critters, also known as cats, had ruined his life and caused him to be parted from his first, loving owners. The rabies problem he had didn't help matters any.
Tired and annoyed, he sniffed the air for any whiff of those hated felines. What he smelt wasn't as good, but still fine. A bird, just dead, and waiting for him to come and pick it up.
With a loud bark, he raced towards the Tree Filled Lot.
