Four year old Selena played in the sand box happily, her raven hair falling in front of her emerald green eyes. She giggled as she built a sand castle, her mother watching her lovingly. She then heard the familiar jingle of the ice cream truck, and immediatly dashed to her mother, bouncing up and down like a kangaroo. "Mommy! Can we gets a icecweam!" she said, "Pwease?" her mother laughed, and said she would and told Selena to wait there. She did what she was told, at least for a few minutes, before getting up and wandering off after a yellow butterfly with black and white spots. When she lost sight of it, she looked around, and saw she had no idea where she, or her mother, was. Her eyes brimmed with tears as she immediatly began calling her mothers name.

Bump!

-
Eighteen year old Lilly walked along the streets with her chihuahua - Piper. Piper noticed Selena and immediately ran to her, Lilly loosing her grip on the leash. "Piper! Come back!" she yelled. Piper jumped on Selena and licked her fingers. Her tail wagged happily. "Piper! Where are you?!?"
-
Selena whimpered, backing away from Piper and leaning against the tree, shaking as her eyes brimmed with tears, "Mommy..." she whimpered
-
Lilly ran to Piper. "Bad girl!" she yelled. Piper whimpered. Lilly bent down to Selena's height. "I'm so sorry sweetie. Where's your mother?" she spoke softly and gentle.
-
She looked down and shook her head, "I don't know" she sniffled, not daring to look Lilly in the eye
-
"Okay, I'll help you find her. Do you know her name?" She had her hand gently on Selena's shoulder. Piper tilted her head.
-
She shook her head, "No..." she whimpered, a lone tear running down her cheek
-
Lilly sighed. "Do you know your adress? Your phone number?" she sounded worried, tired, and frustrated.
-
She shook her head, backing away a bit when she heard the frustration in her voice, she kept looking down at the ground.
-
"Where did you last see her?" she gently pulled the child forward. She brushed the child's raven hair out of her face.
-
"At the pawk" she told her
-
"Which park?" she asked gently. She brushed sone sand off of Selena's shirt.
-
"The Aiwpwane pawk" she said, talking about 'Great Ledge Park', where airplanes would fly really close every so often
-
"Are you talking about Great Ledge Park?" she pleaded that Selena said yes. She couldn't quit college to take care of a little girl.
-
"I think so..." she said with uncertainty in her voice
-
"Come on, that's an hour away... How did you get here?" her eye twitched.
-
She stumbled back, afraid, "I, I was walking and.." she sniffled, not saying anything else, continuing to back away
-
She burst out laughing. "I was just as adventurous as a child, come on. My cars nearby." she smiled and picked Piper up, putting her in her white purse. Piper fell asleep in the purse.
-
She stayed where she was, not following, her mother had always told her never to go with strangers
