Troubledkit was too far away to hear Orchidblood call after her, skidding to a stop in front of the nursery. She peered into the dim den, her eyes raking over the space, scouring the area for a glimpse of Ginsengkit's pelt, so similar to her own, or her familiar bright eyes glinting in the darkness. But the nursery was empty save for a weary queen and the three sleeping bundles of fur at her side. Troubledkit's heart fell as she turned her back on the nursery and padded over to the elder's den, hoping that Ginsengkit was in there, enraptured by some well-spun tale.

"Wouldn't the kits have cried out?" said Orchidblood. "We were right here. We'd have heard them."
-
Magickit looked around. "Well I know when I was younger I always wanted to go out exploring. I don't think they were taken against will. They probably thought it was just a fun adventure," the tortie point mewed.
-
"We smelt loner and there's a clump of one's fur," said Orchidblood. "And the scent just ends. Then only more loner."
-
Scarredstar breathed in the scent, grateful to know that it was not the same loner who had kitnapped the first kit. Why were loners messing with them? It was time that they drew some blood and showed WindClan was not to be messed with. "There is only one thing to do, follow this scent." The brown tabby padded forward, trying to make out exactly what was loner and what wasn't.
-
The loner scent. Orchidblood nodded and was following as well.
"I should stay back here to make sure my family's okay," said Waterskipper. "This must've shaken them up. Scarredstar, Orchidblood...be safe. I love you."
"Love you too Grandma." Orchidblood parted with a brush of faces, but wondered had her grandmother told them both she loved them?
-
Troubledkit cautiously entered the elder's den, not wanting to disturb any of the grouchy older cats. Her eyes quickly glanced around the den, but her sister was not here, and by tasting the air, she could tell that Ginsengkit hadn't been here all day. Head low and tail drooping, the tortie left the den, padding over to the leader's den. She sat down in front of the entrance, waiting for Shinepaw to meet her there, hoping that he had found her elsewhere.
-
Magickit decided she was old enough to go on an expedition with Scarredstar and Orchidblood. It was her friends after all and she was around six moons, too. The she-kit padded after the two sniffing the loner smell. "Wait, what'll happen when we get to loner lands and everything smells that way?"
-
"We worry about that when we get there," said Orchidblood. "Besides if it leads off that way they probably went to a colony. That always smells."
-
Scorchingpaw nuzzled Waterskipper, how come she didn't want to go? Well, Scorchingpaw wasn't going to miss this. Quickly picking up the same scent Scarredstar picked up he followed Orchidblood and let the warrior and the WindClan leader trail infront of him. Walking alongside Magickit, Scorchingpaw smiled. "Will this be your first time out of WindClan?" He mewed to the kit. She seemed old enough, she was about the same age when Scorchingpaw ran away, but that was all in the past now.
-
Magickit, yet another kit who was closer to warrior age than kit age. Oh well, thought Orchidblood as she walked along what she hoped was the trail, not like it really mattered.
-
"Well, when I was younger we used to go to the Riverclan border sometimes to talk to one of Bridgefall's friends. Other then that, no," Magickit mewed.
ooc: Also, there will be the smell of Snowclan and Thunderclan mixed in. One of the kidnappers is a full time Snowclan resident and just comes to help Deadleap out.
-
Scorchingpaw smiled at Magickit. "Then you'll like it. The terrain is rather different then RiverClan.. Well the way it looks like we are headed at least.." Scorchingpaw said sniffing the air and keeping track of the faint scent.
OOC:: Thread for Orchidblood, Scarredstar, Magickit, and Scorchingpaw?
-
Troubledkit waited and waited, but Shinepaw was nowhere to be seen. She started to pace, muttering angrily under her breath. He should have been here by now!
-
ooc: Sure, but where? Are the kits going to be recovered/tracked down, or not?
ic: Orchidblood was stopping and starting as the trail grew harder to track. she was going mostly on trampled grass, footprints in dust, and so on. Every so often she saw a sign and caught a faint scent. It was touch and go.
-
OOC: I dunno.. I guess it depends on who rp's the kits...
Great. Everytime Scorchingpaw found a scent he would loose it sooner or later. Right when he was about to give up he would find it again. The scent was getting really thin. They couldn't rely on it for to long.
-
OOC: Froggy? Is there a thread to put 'em in?
Scarredstar turned when Waterskipper said she was going to stay back for her family. It would be better than having her along, where he would worry about her. They had just gotten together, though, how was it fair that he was called off on business so quickly? He padded forward to press his cheek against of Waterskipper’s. ”We’ll be back soon, with the kits.”
With that, the strong brown tabby padded off to trail the scent. It was more than just a scent, because that was not something they could rely on. The last hunt he'd been on, for a kit in a situation just like this, the scent had gone dry from rain and ThunderClan interference. It may very well be that way for them now - as ThunderClan and traces of SnowClan were there. Where did they try first? The crushed grass, the paw prints all pointed in the direction of SnowClan...but how long until the terrain didn't offer them any more help? Maybe they needed to speak to Puddlestar. "It seems we're heading toward SnowClan, guys."
-
"I love you," whispered Waterskipper to the tom that she knew was the right one. And it took a lot to convince her after all she had been through. She watched him head off, with her granddaughter and grandson in tow. They had just better come back safe.
"Why would Snowclan kidnap Windclan kits?" said Orchidblood.
-
Scorchingpaw smiled at Waterskipper. Maybe his reaction was quite the opposite of what his family would think, but Scorchingpaw was happy for the couple. Scarredstar seemed in a happier mood, and Waterskipper wasn't lost anymore. There is so much death in her life, Scorchingpaw was glad to see her happy again.
-
"I don't know, maybe they've gone rabid or something," Magickit suggested with a wide playful smile.
