  • Rosemary's ears perked up at hearing the kit's names. She didn't know them- but it was just the sort of thing she wanted to help with. "What do they look like? I could help you look for them." Her pure bred abyssinian sides weren't yet heavy with kits.

  • Shinepaw left of splashing-fighting with Firekit and bounded up to the others, face full of dismay. How could he have failed so horribly already? Gratitude flooded his face as he looked to Rosemary. Why couldn't Aquapaw, their own mother, show that sort of side? "Thanks - Cherrykit looks a lot like me but smaller obviously. Wonderkit is mainly white with a bit of cream on his paws and face." Not for a second did he think about Ginsengkit who he'd left safely sleeping in the nursery.

  • Fireflight in the meanwhile had nudged Troubledkit. "Stay close - we don't want to loose you too." He cautioned her, then stood quite still, the wind blowing his long red fur about, and parted his jaws. He knew both cats better and worse at tracking than he was, but neither would stop him trying now. Shinepaw's family was his family, as important to him as his own. "This way!" He called suddenly. It wasn't hard to catch the scent, because Wonderkit seemed to have been following Cherrykit. Fireflight felt a flicker of admiration such a young kit could follow a scent - but he was determined to find them. He set off slowly, trying not to loose the trail, and Shinepaw quickly caught up and tried to follow the same scent.

  • Orchidblood followed after the scent on the wind, occasionally smelling the ground. She was no dog, though, and was going mostly on other sighs like the imprints left by a young cat in the grass stems when they moved through them recently.

  • Troubledkit nodded at Fireflight's warning and scampered over to the safety of the nursery while the others went off in search of her missing siblings. She felt a rush of jealousy; disgruntled by the fact that they got to have all the fun while she had to stay here because of their actions. But that resentfulness disappeared when she noticed that her sister was also gone, no longer sleeping in the nursery as they'd left her. Without a moment's hesitation, the young kit bounded out after the older cats, yelling "Wait!" at the top of her lungs.

  • Rosemary scrambled after Fireflgiht, looking for traces as Orchidblood was. She wasn't the best tracker that was. Though she tried hard she didn't really excel at anything.

  • They weren't stopping. "Wait . . . Ginsengkit . . . She . . . " Troubledkit was out of breath, struggling to catch up to her much faster Clanmates.

  • Firekit had no clue what to do so he just walked beside Magickit. The red tabby made sure they were close to the others and Hailkit, though because he didn't want to get lost, too.

  • Why weren't they stopping to listen to her! Angry that she was being ignored, Troubledkit forced her short legs to keep moving, despite the burn in her muscles and her shortness of breath. "Shinepaw! Fireflight! Wait for me!"

  • Glad that someone had finally decided to hear what she had to say, Troubledkit hurried over to the black she-cat. "No. But I thought you guys should know that Ginsengkit is missing too."

  • "She was in the nursery, sleeping. And now she's not." Tears threatened in Troubledkit's eyes as she thought of all the terrible fates that might have befallen them.

  • "No. I'll go look before I tell Scarredstar about them. Thanks, Orchidblood." Troubledkit gave the warrior a quick nuzzle in return before scurrying off in search of her sister.

  • Fireflight started after her. "I'll go with her." Shinepaw stopped him, agony in his eyes. "You're a better tracker than me." He admitted, looking up at his mentor. "I'll go. You and the others- find the kits." He begged, then turned and dashed after Troubledkit.

Fireflight nodded, trying hard not to let his worry show, and he carried on his slow pace after the scent trails. Presently he stopped and drew his lips back in a deep growl. "Loner scent. There's at least four, maybe more... all mixed up with the kit's scent." By now they were close to the border with the farmland to the east, and the scent was difficult for Fireflight to track any further because the smell of sheep and dog were both in this area as well. "This doesn't look good. It looks like a small group of loners have trespassed, and for some reason - taken the kits. Everyone, spread out a bit, look for anything that might help us - tracks, scent, anything!"

  • The cinnamon ticked she-cat nodded, then set off a little distance away from them. Rosemary kept an eye out for any scraps of fur that may have been left behind. Her nose wasn't the best- she'd have to get Fireflight on it if she crossed anything.
