  • It was raining. Sheets of chilling droplets fell from the overcast sky, and down onto the rolling hills below. Two lonely cats darted across the open field side by side, towards the barn on the horizon. Their matching white pelts made them stand out is the see of swaying grass, like clouds against a clear sky. The only difference between the two was the spots of color that dotted their pelts; one, a young she cat, had grey patches with darker tabby stripes. The other, a large tom, had ginger patches. Together, they sprinted through the empty grazing land and through a gap in the side of the barn, safe from the downpour.
"Good thing we found this place in time, Koi," the lithe she cat mewed, settling herself down in a pile of hay to groom out her damp fur.
"Sure is, Pebble. It looked like it might start thundering soon," Koi muttered. Just as he spoke, a low rumble shot through the air, and the dark shadows of the barn were temporarily lit up by a flash of light from outside the shelter. Pebble jumped slightly, her fur ruffling up.
"Seems you were right. Let's stay here for a while," she sighed, resting her head down on her paws. Koi nodded and laid down beside his sister. He let out a loud sneeze as a cloud of dust rose up from the hay.

  • Hello said a skinny she-cat with a long scar down her shoulder and light brown dusky fur my name is Dusk you are welcome her who are you she looked at them as she jumped out from the hay

  • At first, Koi's fur stood on end, and he opened his mouth to speak. "We-" He started, but was cut off as Pebble slapped her tail over her brother's mouth. "Thank you for being so welcoming." She shot Koi a glare, who rolled his eyes in return. "I'm Pebble, and this is my brother Koi," she greeted warmly. "We're just here to wait out the storm for now. We'll be out of your fur in no time."

ooc; Excuse me, but would you mind putting what Dusk says in quotation marks? It's a little hard for me to understand ;D

  • OCC~Ok sorry about that

"well I get cats who stay here all the time you are welcome to stay her for however long you like and their are plenty of mice so when your hungry feel free

    OCC~can Koi become Dusk's mate

  • ooc; Sure c: They'll have to get to know each other first, of course.

Pebble dipped her head. "Thank you," she purred and stood, giving Koi a nudge with her paw. "C'mon, let's hunt. She's kind enough to let us stay here and catch ourselves some prey. We should at least accept her hospitality," she mewed.
Koi sighed and got back up on his paws. "If you say so." He cast Dusk a wary glance, then padded off farther into the barn in search of food. Pebble padded off in the other direction, opening her jaws to scent the air.

  • Koi paused. He thought her Dusk's voice from somewhere in the barn. Is someone else here...? he wondered curiously. He quickly pushed the thought to the back of his mind as he spotted a mouse in a pile of hay. The young tom sprang and killed it quickly. Just as he finished of the mouse, he spotted another not far away. [i]This place is full of mice! However, he left the tiny creature be and settled down to eat his catch. He preferred to only kill as much prey as he needed, and he wasn't very hungry at the time.

Not far away, Pebble had caught two mice of her own. Grabbing them by the tails, she carried them over to Koi and sat down beside him, then tucked in and sank her teeth into her fresh kill, enjoying having a warm meal for once.

  • Kits don't go out there but the four kits ran out well these are some kits that got left at the door of the barn they are sun stripes dew and heather

  • Koi blinked in surprise as the four kits tumbled out from the hay. "So that's who I heard earlier..."
Pebble grinned at the young cats. "Aw! They're so cute!" she purred, her blue eyes sparkling.

  • Pebble shot her brother another look. "Alright," he sighed and tucked his paws underneath him. "Now, I'm going to tell you about me and my sister's encounter with some rouges a few seasons back," he began. "One day, me and Pebble were wandering along to foothills of a mountain far away from here. We were tired, hungry, and thirsty. There was no prey among the rocky slopes, and we couldn't find any water, other than a small pool that stank of death. After debating what we should do, we decided to head farther up the mountain. We could see huge birds called eagles circling in the sky, so we assumed that they must be hunting some kind of prey. So, we climbed up a small trail we found, until we came to the top of a cliff. Just then, a group of angry rouges practically melted out of the rocks. They said that the mountain was theirs, and that we were intruding on their territory. We quickly told them that we didn't know any cats lived here, and that we would leave as soon as possible. But they wouldn't settle for that- they grabbed up by our scruffs and dragged us farther up the mountain. Their leader, a huge dark brown tom they called Peak, said that the eagles would eat well tonight. Near the top of the mountain, they tossed us out on an open cliff face completely open to the sky, and circled us so we couldn't escape. The rouges hid under the rocks so they wouldn't be targeted by the birds. They told us that if we did the same, they would toss us off the cliff side. Then, after ages of waiting, an eagle started to dive towards us." Koi paused, as if to add effect to the tale. Even though the tom was distrustful to the barn cats, he still showed his knack for story telling.

  • Koi rolled his eyes jokingly and smiled. "If I did, how would I be here? Anyway, just as the eagle was about to grab us in its talon, I jumped up and swatted it right out of the air!" Behind him, Pebble smirked. "With my help, of course."
Koi gave her a look, then continued. "It fell to the ground and hit its puny little head on the rocks and was stunned. The rouges were amazed. While they were distracted, me and Pebble dashed off down the trail. They tried to catch up to us, but it was no use- we were long gone."
