Secret started to stop by a large hill. Skylar looked to Hattie

Sky stopped beside Secret.

Secret looked around and Skylar smiled lightly. The view was amazing up here.

Sky huffed again, she was very old and the vet said in about three weeks, she would pass away.

Skylar looked at Hattie, "Are you scared?" Skylar said lightly.

"About what?" Hattie asked. She had no idea about Sky's soon to be death. Every one else on the ranch had kept it from her.

"I'm guessing nobody has told you..." Skylar said gently.

Hattie didnt want to hear it. Sky ran back to the ranch and Hattie's jaw dropped open as she saw a beautiful horse with a ribbon on her/he.

Secret and Skylar followed.

"This is for when Sky dies." Her dad told Hattie. "No. No!" Hattie let her arms go limp and Sky ran back down the trail.

Skylar sighed and said slightly, "Let's get you back to the stables, Secret..." Secret trotted on toward the stables.

Hattie soon came back, her eyes red and puffy.

When she came back, Skylar was sitting in the barn infront of a kid's horse Tyler. She brushed the black and white palomino then sighed.

Sky huffed as Hattie took her saddle off. Then put Sky in her stall for the night.

Skylar rubbed Secret's head, "I have to go home...I won't be far.." Secret tossed his head as if nodding and Skylar nodded. She turned and walked toward her house.

"Wait!" Hattie called to Skylar. "Is it true that Sky is going to..." Hattie trailed off.

Skylar nodded lightly, "I was the one who told your dad about Sky...one day I was sitting in the barn watching her and she started having some symtoms of old age."

Hattie's body shook. "Did you ask the vet?"

"I food and that was about a week ago...he said hat Sky would most likely pass in about 3 months..." Skylar looked at the horses.
