  • Hawkfoot gulped an nodded his head fiercely at Shadowmist, "I think I'm ready. "

He watched quietly, as Cloverfang shifted her body to a sitting position. Her eyes were open, although she still seemed to be in somewhat of a dream-like phase. She didn't really seem to notice Hawkfoot or Shadowmist, until Hawkfoot gently called to her. "Cloverfang?" He mewed.

Cloverfang's ears pricked and her pelt bristled as she swung her head to the side, gazing at the both of them. "What are you doing here?" Her ears flattened in embarrassment.

  • Shadowmist padded over to her, and smiled with loving care and concern. "Nothing, we just wanted to know if you were ok. You looked like you were dreaming SO peacefully."

  • Cloverfang twitched her tail. " I was dreaming." She mewed curtly. Her gaze rested on Shadowmist. "You know something is coming, don't you?" She hissed just loud enough for Shadowmist to hear. "I saw you in my dreams Shadowmist." It was almost as if the two she-cat shared a mystical, and special connection. A connection that Hawkfoot would never know of.

  • Shadowmist looked down at her paws and was silent for a moment. "Y-you did....?" she looked up at Cloverfang. "What did you see?" Her voice cracked with a sadness she tried to hide deeply within. She thought to herself, "are my worst dreams coming true....?" She swallowed her anxiety, and she tried so hard to keep her paws from uncontrollably shaking.

  • "Yes. You were there." She didn't take her eyes off Shadowmist. "I remember the sky turned black. The ground shook, and blood roared like thunder in my ears. It was awful." Cloverfang's voice shook a bit toward the end, but she caught herself, and kept going. "There was war, Shadowmist, war worse than any of the Clans have fought before. Lots of blood, and teeth, and claws.... b-but then.... then there was light. And StarClan, and you and me..... I didn't understand."

Cloverfang looked genuinely confused. "I didn't understand. But it scares me."

  • She looked up swiftly. "What? What about StarClan and you and me??" A look of mystery and lostness in her eyes. "StarClan hasn't had anything to do with me since I was born." She looked around. "Unless..oh no. There isn't a prophecy with this is there?" Her long, sharp claws sank deep into the earth. "I'm sure this is just another sign that they want me dead." She slowly looked up, her eyes full of anger and hurt, so much that you could even tell her childhood was indeed a horrid one, filled with bloodshed and death, just by looking into them.

  • Laying her tail gently across Cloverfang's shoulders, she tried to comfort her. " I'm not sure what the signs mean. But I'm positive we're the only ones getting them. No messages have been sent to any Clan leaders of Medicine Cats. This must be for us alone to solve.... " she mewed sympathetically. "StarClan wouldn't want you dead. You have to help me end this storm before it begins."
Cloverfang looked closely into Shadowmists' eyes, seeing every bit of anguish and pain, brought on by her kithood. "What happened when you were young? You must tell me."

  • She looked at Cloverfang, feeling a little calmer now and nodded. "Well I wouldn't want to bore you with it." She half-smiled. "It all started on the day my dad died, Scourge killed him because my dad wouldn't allow him to send me into battle as a kit." She looked up to the night sky sadly. "Never had I seen my mother cry so much.." She turned her attention back to them. "Not too long afterwards, the battle between BloodClan and the other clans began, I was forced to go and had a front row seat to the deaths. Cats, rouge and forest alike, lying eyes wide open in pools of blood. I even heard one whisper help me, staring right at me when he was dying.." She sat down, trying to compose herself. "I wouldn't dare let my little sister Rose see this, so I told her to hide in the foxhole I had found that was well sheltered. Me and my brother Gale took turns checking the foxhole as we fought." My brother was wounded, but mother came and got me and I was separated and brought here to WindClan as an apprentice..I can only pray Rose and Gale made it out alive.." She stopped for a heartbeat. "All of that, my brother Night's determination and threats to kill me the next time he sees me, Scourge's death and the mysterious sensation I had, my mother has become ill, and now the visions and the coming storm.." She looked at Cloverfang and Hawkfoot. "What are we to do, and how are we to know when "The Storm" will come?" Shadowmist said finally, a stillness in her eyes.

  • Listening quietly to Shadowmists story, Cloverfang and Hawkfoot both sat and let the words soak in. After Shadowmist was done speaking Cloverfang swiveled her head to gaze at her brother. " I don't know when The Storm will hit, to be honest. StarClan can be so vague sometimes....." She stopped talking, as if her mind was working, rather than her mouth.

Hawkfoot flattened his ears to his head in fear. " I think this is insane!" He hissed. " BloodClan is dealt with, and I doubt they're going to take revenge or whatever. You must be interpreting StarClan wrong, Cloverfang." He glared at his sister. However, Cloverfang was icy calm.
"You're just scared, Hawkfoot. It'll be alright." Cloverfang flicked her ears toward Shadowmist. "StarClan hasn't told you when the storm will be, right?"

  • Shadowmist took a pawstep forward. "No," She mewed confidently. "All I know is that its coming, but it may be soon." She slowly looked at Hawkfoot, then turned her head to Cloverfang. "I saw Dark Forest cats rising out of the ground under the light of a full moon. StarClan cats staring down upon the horrific sight with unspeakable fear in their eyes. It then flashed to clan camps with cats running around frantically, asking StarClan why had they forsaken them and why this had come to be.." She paused, closing her eyes. Letting the words sink in. "Then I saw three cats engulfed in flame, one was aflame with holy red fire like a comet, the second likened to green, like vines that seep into the Earth to take root, the third..the third.." She stopped, her eyes wide. "The third stained with blood, but amasked with a blue flame, white hot like anger." She looked up. "You couldn't see who they were, or their fur color." She continued. "I also heard voices..like..spirit voices, but I couldn't understand what they were saying." She looked back down to them. "They ran at each other, the three and others against countless on a bloodstained battlefield, as they all went to leap for each other....I awoke."

  • Cloverfang gasped in horror, almost as if Shadowmist's words hit too close to home. "I remember now! There was some sort of prophecy about.... three cats. I also remember seeing flashes of colors. More vibrant and bright than anything I'd ever seen before! I completely believe you, Shadowmist!" She gazed at Shadowmist, swallowed whole by her stare. The two she-cats shared something more deep than Hawkfrost could comprehend.

He felt a sharp thorn of jealousy stab his gut. "Well, you two can preach and mew all you want about these dreams, but I haven't seen or heard anything strange. Why would StarClan choose you two anyways? This is a load of mouse-dung! I'm leaving." Hawkfoot lashed his tail.
With a quiet hiss, Cloverfang tried to persuade her brother to stay. "No! You must stay with us! We need to figure this out before returning to our Clan!" Cloverfang looked at Shadowmist expectantly, hoping she'd have something to say to Hawkfoot.

  • Shadowmist stepped forward, "Hawkfoot, so far I count two cats in the prophecy." She tilted her head to the side and smiled kindly. "And I see a third in front of me." "Please stay with us Hawkfoot" She said, her ice-blue eyes pleading. She looked at Cloverfang then back to him softly, "She needs you Hawkfoot, and.. so do I." She said, the words being hard to come by, because Shadowmist had never expressed her true kind emotions, for she was afraid to let her heart be hurt anymore. She especially didn't want to show any weakness. She looked into his eyes with determination and focus, but also a kindness her cold stare hadn't seen in a long time. "We can't do this alone Hawkfoot, we need you here, prophecy or not." She half-smiled.
