• "Oh, school is okay. I don't like to get up early, but I like coloring and music class and-- oh, shh, shh! Lyra is gonna sing, I think!" Evangeline gripped Hellent's arm, pointing ferociously as the slim brunette headed onstage. "You get to sing too, right, Hellent? I can't wait to hear you--oh, shh!" She shushed everyone around her, even though she had been the only one speaking. The lights dimmed and she wiggled excitedly as Lyra took the microphone.

--

Lyra had managed to tune out most of what Bob was saying--she'd heard this whole spiel before. But she was brought back to attention by her name. When he announced her roommate, her stormy gaze flicked quickly over to Evie, then Hellent. Well, she'd get a chance to find out Evie's feelings towards them, attempt to make up with her, maybe become friends--but she wished she'd been paired up with Hellent.

"Well, thank god nobody has to room with Jasper," she muttered, keeping the mood light. Her little smirk faded quickly when her name was announced. First? First? She hadn't performed for a crowd in...a long time. She didn't even know what to sing either. She'd forgotten all about the opening performance. Swallowing hard, she searched her brain for any song she had in her back pocket. Nope, nope, nope...ah. Flyleaf. She didn't want to sing anything too moody, but she could make Again sound lighter. If she smiled while she sang it, if she tweaked the rhythm a bit...

She slung her guitar over her shoulder, raising her eyebrows and grinning at her friends as she headed towards the stage, to show that she was okay.

She hurried up the steps, flashing a pleasant smile at the others as she played a few warm-up chords on her guitar. "Hi, I'm Lyra Bell-Sabres, and this is Again, by Flyleaf."

She played a few notes on her guitar, and then her voice wafted out over the crowd as the lights dimmed. At first it was soft and sweet, gentle, but with the hidden power that was expected by those who had heard her sing before. The murmuring lullaby became a strong ballad in a moment.

" I love the way that your heart breaks

With every injustice and deadly face

Praying it all be new

And living like it all depends on you...

Here you are, down on your knees again!
Trying to find air to breathe again!
And only surrender will help you now,
I love you, please see and believe again.

I love that you're never satisfied

with face value wisdom and happy lies,

You take what they say, go back and cry

You're so close to me that you nearly die-

Here you are, down on your knees again!

Here you are down on your knees again
Trying to find air to breathe again
And only surrender will help you now
I love you, please see and believe again

They don't have to understand you
Be still
Wait and know I understand you
Be still

Be still!

Here you are down on your knees again
Trying to find air to breathe again
And only surrender will help you now
The floodgates are breaking and pouring out!

Here you are, down on your knees!
Trying to find air to breathe!
Right where I want you to be, again
I love you, please see and believe again!

Here you are down on your knees again

ic: Her mouth parted to reply, but only to be shushed about a kajillion times in the most adorable way possible by none other than Evangeline. Grinning slightly as her best friend trotted onstage, Hellent easily imagined the cogs winding in Lyra's head as she carefully picked out the perfect song. The almost-blinding lights dissolved to a dim light, and an overhead spotlight flickered to life on stage as the brunette, guitar and mic grasped in hands, began to sing.
Anyone would stop dead and instantly be compelled by her voice; strong and steady with a touch of tenderness and, of course, beauty and grace. Lyra's voice pretty much told the world her personality. One of many smiles graced her lips as Hellent softly mouthed the words to the aria.
When her friend's performance drew to a close, she clapped softly-- a golf clap, if you will. Mind you, she had never really been loud when it came to gestures, despite Lyra's brilliant song. Hellent hadn't been allowed to be, actually, with the strict orphanage and the coward gangs; the only time she'd ever be loud was during fights.

• ((I'm fine with it c: The more the merrier, right? I was actually thinking of bringing Amanda back, like two weeks in? I'm not sure though :p))

Bob
Bob stepped on stage after Lyra was done, clapping as he did so. "Great job, thank you! Alright, I usually would say something nice about all of you once you're finished but there are so many more people this year that I'm afraid we don't have the time, so let's just get to it. Next up will be Jared Denmark!" Bob said, stepping off stage to let Jared up.

Evie smiled as Lyra sang. God, she was amazing, definitely better than Evie. Or at least Evie thought so. Lyra really was amazing though, Evie hadn't realized how much she missed the girl's melodic voice. She flashed Jared a quick smile as Bob called his name to go up next and wondered what song he might do.

• As Lyra came offstage and hurried back to them, Jared clapped her on the back encouragingly, whispering something in her ear. She smiled to herself and returned to Hellent's side, still riding the adrenaline rush from performing.

Jared looked up as his name was called. He grinned; he wasn't nervous. If he pretended he was in the living room dancing around with Evangeline, or singing in the cafeteria with Evie, Hellent, and Lyra, or belting out AC/DC in the convertible with Isabelle, it would be fine. He had never had much of a problem with performing in front of crowds.

"Hey, babe, want me to sing our song?" He grinned as he knelt to to Angel's level. "Yeah! Can I sing it with you?" Evangeline clapped excitedly. Jared laughed. "I don't think they're going to let you onstage, angel. Watch me, okay?" He winked and headed up to the stage.

"Hi, I'm Jared Denmark, and this is She's So Mean by Matchbox Twenty."

It was an odd song to be a father-daughter song, that much was true, but they loved the feel of it and it was easy to dance to. Jared grinned and nodded at his daughter as the music started up.

I kn-kn-know a girl
She gets what she wants, all the time
Cause she’s fine
But for an angel, she’s a hot, hot mess
Make you so blind
But you don’t mind

Cause she’s an uptown, get-around, anything-goes girl!
She’s a hardcore, candy-store, give-me-some-more girl!

She’ll make you take her to the club, but then she leaves with her friends
She likes to stay late at the party cause the fun never ends
And all her clothes are on the floor, and all your records are scratched
She’s like a one-way ticket cause you can’t come back

Sayin’ yeah, you want her
But she’s so mean!
(You’ll never let her go, why don’t you let her go?)
Yeah, you want her
But she’s so mean!
(You’ll never let her go, why don’t you let her go?)

You kn-kn-know that if you don’t shut your mouth
She’ll freak out
You better get your sh*t together
Cause she’s bringing you down, now
Yeah, boy, you better, you better!

Cause she’s an uptown, get-around, anything-goes girl, girl
She’s a hardcore, candy-store, give-me-some-more girl, girl

She’s got a wicked sense of humor, can’t believe what she says
She drinks Bacardi in the morning till it goes to her head
And all you want is just to hold her, but she don’t go for that
She has a hard time coming when she can’t hit back

Sayin’ yeah, you want her
But she’s so mean!
(You’ll never let her go, why don’t you let her go?)
Yeah, you want her
But she’s so mean!
(You’ll never let her go, why don’t you let her go?)

Every now and then she makes you just a little bit crazy
She’ll turn the knife into your back and then she’s calling you ‘baby’
Crazy...

She’ll make you take her to the club, but then she leaves with her friends
She likes to stay late at the party cause the fun never ends
And all her clothes are on the floor, and all your records are scratched
She’s like a one-way ticket cause you can’t come back!

Sayin’ yeah, you want her
But she’s so mean
(You’ll never let her go, why don’t you let her go?)
Yeah, and you want her
But she’s so mean
(You’ll never let her go, why don’t you let her go?)
Yeah, you want her
Yeah, you want her
Yeah, I know how you want her, but she’s so mean
You’ll never let her go, why don’t you let her go?

"Thank you, Jared! Excellent, now next up we have our first new camper performing, everybody give a warm welcome to Caleb Jones!" Bob said, taking Jared's place and then rushing off stage for Caleb.

"Great job," Evie whispered to Jared with a warm smile as he passed. She couldn't help but get nervous for her own performance. She knew what song she was going to sing. And a large part of her denied it but the smaller, realist part knew that she dedicated the song to Jared. She also remembered how last year, when she sang, she cried in the middle of her performance.

Her therapist had helped her though, so now, whenever she sang any song with a real personal meaning to her, the most Evie did was let a tear slip. She really hoped that didn't happen while she was on stage though, because then, Jared and everyone else would know that the song was for him. And Evie herself would have to admit it, and she didn't know if she could do that.

Caleb got up, guitar in hand when his name was called. It seemed as if Bob was simply calling people up randomly, there was no alphabetical order or anything. Oh well, Caleb knew what he wanted to start out with. He couldn't help but be nervous though, after all he didn't know who any of these people were and the majority of them were probably much better than him. That last kid, Jared, his new roommate, definitely was.

Nonetheless, Caleb stepped on stage and tuned his guitar. "Hi, everybody, I'm Caleb Jones and this is A Match Into Water by Pierce the Veil," he said with a small smile. "What?! No! What about All the Right Moves? You only just started working on this song! You've seriously screw yourself now kid, I hope you know," he could hear Trish's words in his ear as if his best friend was there with him. He mentally told her to shut up and started playing.

The song was originally performed faster and with more instruments and it had been tough, but Caleb had been able to make it acoustic by slowing it down so it sounded almost as good. He couldn't scream very well either, so for those parts his voice just went up an octave but yet still, it sounded good. He started singing, his tenor voice ringing out throughout the auditorium and suddenly, all his nervousness and anxiety peeled away.

Let's go!

I kissed the scars on her skin
I still think you're beautiful
And I don't ever want to lose my best friend.
I screamed out, "God, you vulture,
Bring her back or take me with her"

Tear it down, break the barricade
I want to see what sound it makes
I hate this flavor with a passion and I fucking hate the aftertaste

How does it feel? How does it feel?
Well it feels like I'm on fire.
Wake up
I know you can hear me.

Make me a promise here tonight, love like a tidal wave
Dreamless in early graves, I never want it to be this way
The chemicals will bring you home again
This is it, when it's done, we can say that,
When it's sudden death we fight back

Pretend like I don't entice you
I've seen you circling the sky above my head
You traitor

I will never be taken for granted again
Keep digging holes in the desert
Say a prayer for you

I know that you're in pain
But if we die at the same time does it still scare you?

Make me a promise here tonight. Let's go!
Dreamless in early graves, I never want it to be this way
The chemicals will bring you home again
This is it, when it's done, we can say that,
Oh my god we're not gonna make it

We will bring the tidal wave
We will bring the tidal wave
We will bring the tidal wave
We will bring the tidal wave!

We will bring the tidal wave
We will bring the tidal wave
We will bring the tidal wave
And nothing will remain

She's mine
You stay away from her
It's not her time.
'cause, baby, I'm the one
Who haunts her dreams at night,
Until she's satisfied.

Make me a promise here tonight, love like a tidal wave
Dreamless in early graves, I never want it to be this way
The chemicals will bring you home again
This is it, when it's done, we can say that,
When it's sudden death we fight back!

Fuck it!

With a flick of black bangs and a nervous sigh, the young musician stopped in front of the camp grounds, getting a good look at everything. Again. He had come to this camp last year, but was pulled out of it quick enough; in which he barely got to have a look around. He barely even remembered the people here.. All he could remember was the Mean Glams, and then everyone else. Everyone else, as in, people more like him. But then again, it was a new year, and he expected different people, probably less than last year. It was expected, but chances of difference in attitude and cliques were slim.

Gosh, what am I even supposed to do here? Adam thought, pulling his large bag of assorted instruments over his shoulder more, as if keeping his instruments secure would make him feel secure. It wasn't really working. Making sure he had everything -- as if he could go back and get whatever he needed, anyway, -- he continued on towards the dorms.

Walking into the small building, Adam ran a hand through his soft, black hair. Just walking round here spiked some memory of what people were there that he could actually remember. He could remember a girl there, saying hello to him on his first day. He couldn't remember her name, or what she even looked like. But, oh, did he remember that boy he saw. Adam's face became red in recollection of the memories on his first day there. What was his name.. Was it Jasper? Yes, that was it.

If you probably haven't guessed by now, Adam was indeed.. 'working for the other team', as some like to put it. Adam let out a sigh as the thought crossed his mind that the very, very attractive boy was most likely not 'like' Adam. He left a scoff escape his lips as he looked up to find that he was already at his new dorm. What he didn't know what that he was rooming with the very boy that he had a crush on. He turned the knob to find that it was unlocked, thankfully, and opened the door fully to step inside.

A regular sized dorm, bunkbeds.. He found that the bottom bunk already seemed occupied, so he took the top bunk out of courtesy. He would rather not, but whatever, right? The dorms were very quiet, and besides, no one was there, so he soon came to a conclusion that they must be gathered in the gym or rec room or performance center or whatever it was called. So, setting down his large pack on the top bunk, he carefully took out his precious violin -- in utter mint condition, must I add -- and his small recording table. He set them aside and removed every other instrument in the bag -- mostly jazz instruments -- and placed his violin and recording table back in the bag. He took it everywhere with him. Since it was light weight, he slung it over one shoulder, and quickly headed out the door and towards the Whatever-It's-Called, where all the others were gathered.

By the time he was close,he could hear someone at a mic. They must be doing performances or something. He slowly opened the doors, quietly closing them behind him as he stepped inside.

ic: She kind of, sort of smiled when Jared returned to the audience, clearly and utterly clueless about where their relationship stood. Sure, it'd be nice to be friends with him again... Hellent just wasn't sure if everything could go back to how it was, how she wanted it to be. However, that was in the past, so she'd pretty much given up at this point.[/fancypost]

[fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px dashed white; width: 300px; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia; font-size: 7.5pt; color: black] Strutting down to the stage with a last smirk to Mae, Jasper quickly whipped up a calm facade by his side to mask his panic. Ahh God, what to sing, what to sing... he thought, making sure to take his time walking. Bob was right-- he was totally screwed here. Most of the songs he knew weren't great for first impressions, so Jasper had to choose the perfect song. No weepy or sensitive songs like all the other guys-- he could win over some girls with that, but it'd make him look pathetic. Rock songs? Couldn't scream in songs for his life. Jasper recalled that he was decent at rapping-- or any fast-paced song, really-- so he searched his little song bank for just one good song...

And then he was on stage. Grinning and flipping his hair at the audience to save time, which granted him cheers from a few girls, Jasper quickly reviewed the lyrics in his head. "Heyy. I'm Jasper, and I'll be preforming She was Dead by SR-71." he said into the mic, motioning to the band behind him to begin playing.

[b][i]"From the minute that I saw her, she was different than the rest
But I didn't hear her talking, I was staring at her chest
And I wish I would have listened 'cause I think I might've seen the signs
Now it's been a couple months and I can't take another word
She's been pushing every button, she's been working every nerve
I've got something she can swallow, but it sure as hell's not my pride

Yeah, it's just a waste of time
Soon I'm gonna run out of lies
She'll just have to hear the truth instead
Everyday I'm gonna make her cry
'Till the minute that we said goodbye
I'm gonna make her wish
She was dead

I used to hang out with my homies gettin' stupid every night
Till I met her and she chained me up to keep me out of sight
I got to get away from her I think I'm running out of time
'Cause I think I'm gonna die whenever she's behind the wheel
And it drives me up the wall when she asks me how I feel
I don't really want to talk so I tell her that I'm doing fine
There's got to be a way that I can get it through her head

Yeah I know it's just a waste of time
Soon I'm gonna run out of lies
Then she'll just have to hear the truth instead
Everyday I'm gonna make her cry
'Till the minute that we say goodbye
I'm gonna make her wish...

I'm going crazy and she won't let me go
The lease gets tighter every day
Already told her she's Miss Right Now
But I wish she was Miss Yesterday

Yeah I know it's just a waste of time
Soon I'm gonna run out of lies

"Alright, thank you Jasper. Next up we have another newcomer, Maelie Tyler!"

The girl raised an eyebrow at Jasper's performance. Damn, that boy could sing. She wasn't all that surprised when they called her next, Bob was running through people like there was no tomorrow after all. She stood up with a small smile and made her way towards the stage, the short girl passing by Jasper and whispering a quick "Good job." to him.

"Right, hey everyone, I'm Maelie but please do call me Mae," she said with a small smile. "And today, I shall be playing and singing With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear by Sleeping With Sirens," she said, with a little half salute of her drumsticks. She made her way to take her seat at the drum set and tapped for times before she started playing with the rest of the band up there. As Mae started singing, her alto voice rang out across the auditorium, loud and demanding attention. It was really beautiful and quite a spectacle, she managed to keep up with the song, drumming along perfectly and her voice was almost a complete opposite to Kellin's but still amazing.

True friends lie underneath,
these witty words I don't believe
I can't believe a damn thing they say, anymore
Lie! Liar you'll pay for your sins
Now! Liar I know all the places you've been

Forgiveness this taste all but poisons my mouth
I scream but nothing, nothing will come out
You've gone too far

So tell me how does it feel,
how does it feel to be like you?
I think your mouth should be quiet
Cause it never tells the truth
So tell me, so tell me why,
why does it have to be this way?
Why can't things ever change?

Falling over, and over again
Oh, why does it have to be this way?
From the place I was, to the place I am,
to the place I want to be
For the mountains I've been climbing over
and under and over
From the place that I was to the man I've become
I'll be there to see the tower you'll fall from
No this kingdom isn't quite what it may seem
You're an illusion, you'll never be king

Sometimes things are better left unsaid
But this time you'll get what you give
(True friends lie underneath, these witty words
I can't believe, I can't believe
a damn thing they say, anymore)

"Come down, come down from your tower"
"Come down, come down from your tower"
I know that for all my life, for all my strength
There is only one above who can judge me
All I am is yours, all I am is yours, I am yours!

"Thank you so much Maelie, ahem, sorry Mae. Next we have Adam to the stage!"

• ((ohmygawsh im sorry i didnt even know the last reply was posted))

Adam raised his eyebrows and glanced around the room. He was supposed to perform? At least he had his violin.. He gripped onto the one strap that went horizontally around his torso, and, in his worn down Vans, walked forwards and trotted up the steps to the stage platform. He shook a black bang out of his blue eyes, removing the bag from his back, and gingerly taking out his polished violin. Adam then took out this tiny orange metal device, with a footpetal. Did that give his violin distortion? Couldn't, could a violin have a distorted sound?

The black haired violinist switched a few buttons on the side, and then plugged it into the amp. He paused, thinking of a song to perform. He decided on a One Republic song.

He tapped the footpedal, doing a simple background up and down motion with the bow, making the overlay sound for the back. Taking his foot off of the pedal, he began to play something new to overlay the background, but the background he just performed kept playing. Oh, we was layering!

He kept his mouth shut, though, he absolutely refused to sing. Adam was afraid he'd mess it up with his singing, since it sounded great already. After a few more layers, the song could now be identified. Secrets! Secrets by One Republic, that was it.

But alas, as much as Adam wished he could play it again, it was only a three minute song and came to stop. He quickly stepped on the footpedal twice, causing everything to stop, and he stopped playing as well. A professional ending, as Adam liked to call it. Placing his bow in the same hand as his violin, he lightly smiled, and gathered his layerererer device, trotting down the stage steps.

ic: She found her hands clapping together after every performance-- not out of politeness, because God knows she had tons of that, living on the streets and all, but since all of those people were freakin' amazing-- especially that violin guy and the redhead with the drums. Jeeze, how did I make it into this place again? Hellent thought as the boy finished, silently snorting in disbelief to herself. Oh, right, free entry.
Aaand that's when her name was called. Her stomach instantly sank to her feet-- what the heck was she going to sing? Unlike most musicians out there, Hellent didn't exactly 'loose herself' when she sang, especially when she hadn't even picked out a song yet. The fact that she was gonna be on a giant stage in a dark room packed with strangers certainly didn't help much. Though pleased Bob used her fake last name, that wasn't much of an aid, either.

She let out a distressed groan, making her way towards the stage to only be greeted by silence and eager stares from the audience. Blowing a strand of dark hair out of her face, Hellent cleared her throat and stood in front of the mic. "I'm Hellent, and I'll be preforming The People who Raised Me by Gregory and the Hawk." She didn't know why, but the words just spilled out of her mouth. Oh well-- it was a short song, anyways.

"I've been the wild one,
I've run through the streets and I've suffered
I've been the quiet one,
Sequestered and smothered

But I won't mind no time spent to save me
Just tryin' to be good to the people who raised me
It's been a strong year,
With a bright, bright sun
And from here, the past looks cold
And the future seems a promisin' one

But I won't mind no time spent to save me
Just tryin' to be good to the people who raised me
And glide through life without a meaning
On trails torn up between clouds and turf
I've wished for you and what it's worth
I want to visit on the wind..."

"Thank you very much Hellent, that was fantastic!" Bob said, hurrying up onto stage after Hellent. "For our final performance we have miss Evie Rose!" And with that, Bob hurried off stage for Evie to go up.

Evie clapped for each and every performance. She had almost forgotten how talented everyone that went to this camp was. She clapped the hardest for the best though. Jared, of course, along with Lyra and those new kids, the red head and then the boy who sang a Pierce the Veil song. And of course, the violin kid and definitely Hellent. Of course Hellent. She was just so brilliant and talented and Evie felt small and little having to go after such an amazing performer.

On the other hand though, Evie knew what she was going to sing and she knew it wouldn't be easy. Since she started getting therapy, the only time she ever showed her true feelings was when she was performing. Even before, she barely ever cried. She had to sing this song though, it was so close to home that it wasn't even funny and she knew that if she didn't, the knot in her chest would only get tighter and tighter. So, she took a deep breath, grabbed her guitar, flashed Jared a small smile and made her way to the stage.

As she stepped onto stage, she felt herself growing more and more nervous as an anxiety attack started to come on. She sat down in the stool and closed her eyes briefly. Just count to 10 and open your eyes... She did so and when she looked up again, everything was fine. She tuned her guitar, taking her time on the stage as her heart thundered quickly in her chest. She looked out into the crowd, avoiding eye contact with everyone and spoke into the microphone. "I'm Evie Rose and this is Little Lion Man by Mumford & Sons," she said, trying as hard as possible to keep her voice even. Don't think about it...Don't think about them...Don't think about all their eyes on you...Don't mess up... Evie's thoughts weren't helping one bit but nonetheless, she began to play. Her fingers worked the chords delicately as possible but her hands were shaking to hard. She messed up on a few chords at the beginning but she kept trying. "Weep for yourself, my-" Evie suddenly stopped playing and singing, closing her eyes and looking away. Too many mistakes. She was messing up all the notes and chords. "Um, sorry, let me try again," she said, looking at Bob, her eyes pleading. He simply nodded and she took a deep breath as she looked out into the crowd again. They were all staring at her, waiting for her to mess up and she could feel the room getting smaller and smaller, trapping her. No, it's not, she thought and closed her eyes, counting to ten again. When she opened them again, all she could see was Jared.

Jared. The boy that she had wanted so much last year. The boy who's heart she broke, for the second time. The boy who she was singing this song for. The boy she couldn't seem to get over. The boy who she was in love with. The boy she had been in love with since they first met. Complete, irrevocable, and utter love. She focused on him and began to play again. Her hands were shaking anymore so she could easily play the song. Her fingers plucked at the strings delicately, weaving out a beautiful and melodic sound. She began to sing and oh dear, was it gorgeous. Her Soprano voice rang out loud and clear through the room and she was absolutely amazing and not a single soul could deny it. For most of the song, she was either looking down at her guitar or had her eyes closed. Near the end though, she looked at Jared. Straight at him and she couldn't tear her eyes away. With her eyes, she pleaded to him. For him to forgive her, for him to give her another shot, for him to love her back and through that look, that one look, she told him that song was completely for him and she was so, so sorry for what she had done.

Weep for yourself, my man,
You'll never be what is in your heart
Weep, little lion man,
You're not as brave as you were at the start
Rate yourself and rake yourself
Take all the courage you have left
Wasted on fixing all the problems that you made in your own head

But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?
Didn't I, my dear?

Tremble for yourself, my man,
You know that you have seen this all before
Tremble, little lion man,
You'll never settle any of your scores
Your grace is wasted in your face,
Your boldness stands alone among the wreck
Now learn from your mother or else spend your days biting your own neck

But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?

But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?
Didn't I, my dear?

[harmonizing]

But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?

But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?
Didn't I, my dear?

• ooc -- LATE LATE REPLY. i'm a horrible person i know. i'll be better! x)

Several kids went up and performed but the only one Lyra really paid any attention to was Hellent. Her best friend still had it. That lovely lilting talent that carried every emotion the troubled, pretty, petite girl felt. Lyra clapped fiercely when her song was over, smiling and giving a thumbs-up. She did not feel competitive with her friend at all, and it wasn't because she possessed more talent, which was simply not so. It was because she loved Hellent, and she wanted the best for her no matter what, because it was what she deserved. In Lyra's opinion, Hellent was the best of the best.

Then Evie went onstage. Lyra looked down as she felt a tapping on her hip; little Evangeline was reaching up for her. She took her hand warmly, gently holding the little girl's small fingers. Angel reached her other hand up towards Hellent, freeing it from Jared's firm but gentle grip. Lyra swung her hand slightly to the rhythm as Evie began to sing, beautifully.

Jared and Angel also clapped along for Hellent. He was amazed by the talent of her and the girls, whom he was proud to call his friends, and he had to admit that those other kids were definitely not bad either, even Jasper. Then Evie climbed onstage and once again Jared was struck by a rush of feelings, brought on by Evie's voice and her eyes and her songs. He remembered last year and the whirlwind of emotion and excitement. He looked away from the girl on the stage for several moments, feeling slightly suffocated. After living with Evangeline he'd felt like he had no more love left to give; apparently that was not so. He was feeling something towards Evie and while he wasn't one hundred percent sure what it was yet, it was overwhelming. But God, that girl could sing.

Evie smiled, thanked everyone and rushed off stage as soon as she was done singing. She didn't go back over to where Jared and the others were and instead walked off into the shadows, hiding her face from everyone. As Bob thanked everyone for performing and instructed the newcomers where they could get maps of the camp and who they could consult if they got confused, Evie couldn't help but sneak glances over at Jared.

As soon as Bob was done speaking though, she rushed to her dorm room, forgetting to grab her guitar case and bag. She was the first one out the door, with almost everybody far behind her so as soon as she exited the auditorium, she started running to get to the dorm. She just couldn't handle a crowd of people falling down on her at this point. She entered the girl's dorm building and slowed her pace to a walk, looking for her and Lyra's room number. As soon as she found it, she pushed the door open and walked into her room.

It was pretty bland, actually. It was simple white walls with hardwood floors and two wooden bed frames with Tempur-Pedic mattresses, two dressers and two desks on either side of the room, one of the beds was by the window and the other was by the door. Evie dropped her guitar on the bed by the window and looked around the room, surprised. This was far too bland for L.O.O.S.E Y.O.U.R.S.E.L.F. A paper on one of the desks caught her attention and she picked it up curious, skimming over it. Apparently, this wasn't permanent and the girls could decorate the room as they liked. Evie considered it before setting the paper back down and then sitting on her bed, taking deep breaths as she did so.

Sure, everybody at that camp had been truly amazing but Caleb was grateful when the last girl was done. He sat, listening to Bob with a bored look on his face and as soon as Bob dismissed them, Caleb gathered his stuff, making his way to the dorms. He walked down the hall of the dorm building until he found the room he would be staying in. When he entered, he claimed the bed farthest from the window, and looked around, a bit disappointed. He shrugged it off when he saw they could decorate though and began to unpack as he waited for his roommate, Jared.

Mae gathered her things when Bob announced they could leave and stood up, flashing Jasper a small smile before completely blowing him off and walking out the door and towards the dorm building. She entered the room she would be staying and looked around, pleased when she found out they could decorate. She just hoped that the Hellent girl would have similar interests with her.

ooc;;
Psh, it's fine, sorry for my own late and sorta boring reply :p

• [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px dashed white; width: 300px; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia; font-size: 7.5pt; color: black] Even just the littlest thumbs up from Lyra set her emotions ablaze with warmth and, being the dramatically oversensitive girl she was, Hellent reached over and hugged her. She didn't say this aloud, but the petite girl knew Lyra would always, always be there for her. And, though as dependent as she might've seemed, she was thankful. Very thankful. A small hand slipped into her's, and Hellent glanced down only to find the darling little girl Evangeline between her and Lyra.

Her eyes were drawn to the stage again. God, Evie was talented. Deciding that she and the girl would be better off friends than enemies, she offered a Evie a smile as she hurried off of the stage. Hellent expected the brunette to return to their little group, however that certainly wasn't the case. Dulled blue eyes found themselves following Evie dash out of the auditorium, face hidden well by a veil of shadows.

"...Guys, I'll be back soon." she said after a deep hesitation, letting out a deep sigh. Hellent crouched down to hug Evangeline, giving the little angel a quick peck on her head. "See you later, alligator." she whispered to her with another smile, knowing that it could be a while until she next saw Jared's daughter. With a final wave to Lyra and Jared, Hellent was making her way out of the performance room.

Trying to beat the crowd, Hellent squeezed through clusters of people with various "'scuse me"'s and "sorry"'s. Running around the girl's dorm wing like crazy, she realized that Evie could be in any of the tens, maybe even hundreds of rooms. The sound of heavy breathing and tearless sobs rang in her ears, and she soon found an open door with no one other than Evie inside, who apparently forgot to shut the door.

"You okay?" Hellent inquired carefully, hesitating awkwardly in the doorway. Still, she wasn't even socially acquainted around her friends. Well, that is, if Evie even thought of her as a friend.

ooc: xD sorry for the gigantic post.

•
Evie looked up sharply when she heard Hellent in the doorway. How could she have been so stupid so as to not shut the door? Maybe it was a subconscious co-dependence sort of thing. Almost like she wanted someone to find her like this, wanted someone to help her. But, no, that was selfish of her. No one needed to be burdened with her issues, especially not Hellent.

Evie opened her mouth, about to say the usual "oh, yeah, I'm fine" spiel but a choked sob came out instead. Her hand flung to her mouth and she covered it, looking away from Hellent. "Do you mind shutting the door?" she asked, forcing the words to make their way out of her throat and when they did, they sounded...different. Not like the voice she put on all the time, the voice that said that she was happy but more like her old voice. The voice she had used all the time last year before she got therapy, before she got help. The voice that she used when she knew she had no future, when she was depressed and everything in the world was bleak and boring and she couldn't bear it. The voice she had had when she wanted to commit suicide.

She cleared her throat, not meeting Hellent's eyes and brought her hand down to her lap, she was shaking. Almost violently. Tremors were spreading throughout her body and she couldn't do anything about it. She tried to focus on what her therapist had said and to just close her eyes and count to ten but it didn't work. She would need her medication for this. She stood up shakily and made her way to her bag, taking out her anxiety medication. She attempted to open it but her hands were shaking too much so she held it out to Hellent, pleading with the younger girl not to make her ask aloud.

• [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px dashed white; width: 300px; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia; font-size: 7.5pt; color: black] ooc: xDx so sorry, I've been meaning to reply but couldn't figure out how to start off.

ic: She was genuinely shocked to see Evie in that condition-- the oh- so horrid state of mental health she couldn't stand to see anyone else suffering from. When Hellent expected Evie to bluntly lie and say she was alright, the other girl let out some sort of strangled cry. She practically lost it, but her feet were frozen to the ground beneath her. She didn't know what to do. Hellent could only manage a cracked whisper of God knows what as Evie whirled around to mask her face.

And then Evie used that voice, the colorless and fatal voice she'd heard too much of. Shocked by the girl's sudden change of emotions, Hellent slowly reached behind her and shut the door with a loud creak. When she turned around, she was desperately digging through one of her bags for something-- medication, she supposed.

The older girl struggled to even grasp the bottle in her hands, and when she held it out to Hellent the petite teenager hesitated-- not because she wouldn't help Evie, but Hellent was still paralyzed and alarmed by what had just happened in less than 30 seconds.

Hellent cautiously reached forward and took the bottle without making eye contact, her bright blue eyes dragging along the floor. She found that her own hands were shaking themselves; Hellent could barely get the dang thing open. "D-mn it," she muttered to herself. Finally, the small bottle opened with a pop, and Hellent checked the bottle for the right amount of pills, spilling them out on her hand before handing them to Evie.

"You need to take it with water or anything?" Hellent called, already flying into the mini-kitchen of the dorm-- basically, a little fridge and a sink. She grabbed one of the cups-- making sure it wasn't glass so they wouldn't have to pick up little shards of glass and/or skin later-- and filled it with the tap.

Adam stood awkwardly through the rest of the performances, suddenly feeling like the uncomfortable band geek. Nonetheless he clapped after each performance; he saw the talent in each one. And soon enough it was all over, and the few started to file out of the auditorium and headed back towards the dorms. He waited, though, and once most left, he stepped outside as well.

He walked slowly towards the dorms, trying to guess who his roommate was. Or did he even have one? Of course he had to have had one, the bed below his new one looked used, and besides, the dorm was kind of messy. He quickly grew anxious about the subject. What if his roommate didn't like him? What if he didn't like his roommate? What if he found out he was-- No no nonono. This was not something to get stressed over at the moment. He would meet his roommate soon. It's not like he's never met someone before, but, then again, when he found a new home he never did leave that much. He was an indoors person, a cat person as well, unlike some people who are always hyperactive like dogs.

No, Adam thought, I shouldn't be acting like that. I bet he's a really nice guy. Not like I'm attracted to every guy I meet, that'd be gross.. -cough-slnt-cough- His blue eyes traveled up to the door as he stopped, feet placed together. Reaching a hand out of his pocket, he slowly pulled the door open, stepping into the boy dorm building and letting the door slide closed behind him. Taking quiet steps on the carpet beneath him, he eventually made it to the dorm and reaching in his pockets pulled out the keys-- Ugh he left them on his bunk bed. He hesitantly raised a pale fist to knock on the wooden door, hoping that his roommate was inside.

((the thread must go on))
