  • Cody snorted "I don't know if that makes it better or worse" he said, rolling his eyes. He glanced back in the side mirror "It better not be April.." he muttered under his breath.

  • "No, I recognize that truck." Looking again at the F150, Sydney's knucles turned white as she gripped the steering wheel with a bone crunching grip, she had almost forgotten she had taken off her gloves. She pressed down on the accellerator. Her blue eyes went cold, and her face became a stone mask.

  • Cody glanced at her questioingly and then glanced back at the truck again. "Trouble?" he frowned, as she pushed the car foward. He saw the look on her face and fell silent, not needing an answer to her question.

  • "I knew it was to good to be true. They wouldn't lock him up for beating a juvenial delinquent. After all I did commit several crimes, maybe this is their punishment." Sydney said, mostly to herself. She let loose one hand, and started taking out her gun.

  • Cody's eyes darkened at her words. He frowned as Sydney pulled out her gun but didn't say anything.

  • Still keeping the car pretty steady, Sydney opened the window, and stuck her head and one arm out the window. Shooting at the truck, she missed her target but was able to burst two of his tires. Getting back in, Sydney didn't say a word more. She only picked up the speed and took the car phone. She dialed her father. "Next time I won't miss. Just like you taught me." She snarled and hung up.

  • Cody sat silently, looking out the window as if he wasn't aware of what had just happened. His brown eyes were narrowed and he seemed to be deep in thought. Finally he shook his head and sighed, running his fingers through his hair.

  • Sydney chuckled shakily. "That was fun." She said. With a quick shake of her head, she glanced over at Cody. "You okay?"

  • "Fine" he replied instantly, still looking out the window. "My dad's been dead for awhile" he said abruptly, glancing at her with a small grin.

  • Sydney was silenced by Cody's adruptness, almost hurt, but she ignored it. When he spoke of his father, she looked over at Cody seeing the small grin. A small smile played at her lips, "Good or bad thing?" She asked all the anger from before gone and only kindness remained.

  • "In my opinion good" Cody smirked. "Your dad, the way he seems to be, reminded me of mine. Thats all" he said in answer to an unspoken question.

  • "I'm sorry. You've been hearing my sob story this whole time, and I didn't even think..." Sydney collieded her face with her palm. How could I have been so selfish? Damnit Sydney, your loosing it.

  • "No, no" Cody said quickly "It's fine. I probably wouldn't have told you my story if you'd asked, anyways" he added with a laugh.

  • Sydney smiled and laughed on the outside, but on the inside, she was one step from hell. Her mental state screaming in a pit of burning fury. She had just realized that she had revealed almost everything to Cody, and she had just met him a week ago. She was angry with herself for being such a wimp around Cody... Why did she let herself be so... So... So girlish around him. Whimpering like a dog, and crying like a baby.

  • "Nothing personal" Cody added, glancing at her "I've just found that it works better if you don't tell anyone anything the can use against you..." he frowned at himself. Great, that sounded paranoid..., he thought, rolling his eyes.

  • "Yeah that's for sure." Sydney smiled with a nod. Looking at the clock, she hadn't realized that it was already 3:00pm. But her thoughts weren't on that topic, she was still screaming at herself. She had told Cody almost everything. He was right. Info like that could be used against you. Did that mean Cody meant to use it against her? Now she was worried, scared even. No, Sydney Blake was never scared. She would kill him if he did something like that. Even though it would kill her too.

  • Cody turned his gaze from her, looking back out the window. His thoughts drifted back to his so-called friends and family. He didn't remember his mom but his dad... Cody shook his head as if trying to clear the thoughts away. For a second he let himself blame Sydney for unearthing the unwanted memories. Then he sighed, blaming people wouldn't make anything different and, so, was pointless.

  • They travelled in silence for a while, until Sydney spoke up. "Want to be the DJ?" She asked trying to ignore the pain in her head.

  • Cody hardly realized she had spoken at first. He slowly dragged his thoughts back to the present time and glanced at her. "Sorry, what?" he asked with a slight frown.

  • "Wan'na be the DJ?" Sydney asked again, trying and exit to stop for coffee. She head over to the Tim Hortens, "Want anything?" She asked.
