Chalk nudged the older she-cat, he was almost two moons old, and practiclly as big as her now. "Me protect you," he promised and hunched next to her, hoping his siblings would join him. "Dudette Queeny," he meowed in the direction of Silence. "Did you like.. see.. big serval queen in fwight?" hoping she had seen his mother.

"Yes, I saw her fighting a small Bloodclanner. She had the Bloodclanner pinned when I ran down here." Silence said as Jumpstart came and sat beside her brother. "She's a good fighter."
-
Desertkit blinked the tears from her eyes, and forced a smile. She felt her muscles relax a bit, but she was still shaking. Even if she was older than him, at this point she felt much younger. However, she felt safer here with these other cats than she had before, so she merely sat crouched next to Chalk, hoping she really would be protected.
-
Angus let out a sigh. So mommy was safe. Good.
-
Chalk licked Desertkit's ear and perked his own, rather large ears to listen to the battle outside, "Dwo you have a dad, or owver[other] relatives little dudette?" he asked her in a soft voice, wanting to know if she had someone to take care of her still. He couldn't imagine loseing his own mother.
-
Desertkit flushed under her pelt, pressing close to Chalk for a moment. Then his words forced her to realize something. She was an orphan. "My daddy was Calmnight.." She'd never even had a chance to meet him. Maybe she had been an orphan all along - she'd never known either of her parents. "Who's your daddy?" She squeaked, trying to keep her voice steady.
-
Silence bent to lick Desertkit's face. The queen tried to pull the shivering kit close to her. "I'll be your mommy, now."
Jumpstart scratched her back. "Errato is!" She said softly. "We haven't met our daddy, though."
-
"Me never met my daddy before, I has a gwandpaw though, I introduce you if he visits," Chalk promised, she'd be part of his family weather his siblings liked it or not, she needed someone at least. He brushed his cheek against her shoulder in a comforting motion, his long neck bending slightly to reach.
-
Angus listened in quietly. He had nothing better to do than listen to the kit's tearfulness.
-
Jumpstart pressed against Desertkit's side. She indicated for Angus to come over.
-
Desertkit reveled in the attention. She rather liked it, even if it did make her feel a bit funny on the inside. "Thanks." She managed, her throat tight with emotion. She was starting to feel safe again, and her fur was finally starting to lie flat again. As Chalk rubbed his cheek against her shoulder, she turned slightly and gave him a quick lick on the nose, before giggling softly, in a half-hearted way.
-
[D'aw, she likes him. xDD]
Chalk wriggled his pink nose and grinned slightly at her, glad to see she was feeling better. "Are you like, feeling better?" he asked, his voice still slightly squeaky, wanting to make sure his theory was correct.
-
((Well, he is pretty adorable. =P I love your sig of him!))
Desertkit nodded, "A little bit. I didn't really know her...She was a slave." The dilute calico was a bit embarrassed by that. She had been shuffled from mother to mother as a kit, due to their leaving SunClan just as she was born. But she remembered Hanari, unlike most kits born from a slave.
-
"She was one of the best. I'm sure if she survived she would have been promoted to full member or had a trial membership like Gentlebreeze." Silence said.
-
"Slave.." Chalk never heard that word before, it sounded bad though. "I'm sure she watched you a lot, and is very pwoud of the fwine young dudette yous become," He meowed glanceing at Desertkit.
[Thanks, I made it myself ^^ The picture does all the talking though.. I'm rather proud of the writeing still. xD]
-
ooc: I just realized in the picture he has grass in his mouth. :)
Silence smiled. The serval kits were being so nice to the poor orphan.
-
Desertkit smiled, shuffling her paws. "I hope so." With a yawn, she realized how tired she was. Her terror and resulting panic attack had taken a lot out of her.
-
Desertkit's yawn made him realize how tired he was from his long journey here, "Maybe you swould like.. get some sleep?" he suggested, he'd stay awake, Chalk had a family he needed to protect!
-
"I thinks so." Desertkit replied, settling down and curling up with her tail over her muzzle. She was quickly asleep. She didn't know it yet, but soon she would be too terrified to go to sleep. Nightmares of the murder would haunt her for quite some time.
-
Silence began to groom the kit, lying beside her.
