Soni dropped down on the ground. Her black wings hung around her frame limply, as the Eraser above her kicked into her gut. But she shook her head coughing, she didn't care. She wasn't anything to the world. Your a freak! A mistake! A heartless, soulless, waste of air! Soni let her dark eyes flicker and watched a feather from her sleek wings fall in front of her. She had a spirt and lots of it, but she had lost all hope and determination, a price held above her head. Soni had spent her life running and fighting and being thrown from one cage to another, what more could she do. She couldn't fly forever, not even her wings could pull her out of the life she lived in. Soni snapped back as she rolled over on her back and the Erasers above her growled as one stepped on her wing, she bit back a cry.

"Jerk-face! cut that out!" a slightly squeaky voice yelled at the eraser
"Mira! be quiet!" another voice whispered, reaching his arm through the cage bars and tugging gently on his younger sisters wing to make her move back from the door of the cage. he then raised his own voice "you heard her! leave her alone. sure, its easy to beat up kids who can't fight back!" the second voice belonged to a boy, fifteen, maybe sixteen, with pale grey wings and grey eyes to match. his hair, like his sisters, was bright red, though his was considerably shorter and stuck out in odd directions.
"what, so you can yell at them but I cant?" the little girl grumbled. she was almost an exact copy of her brother, just smaller and female, as well as she was about 7 years old.

Soni brought her eyes up from the ground and gritted her teeth though the pain that ran up her wing. A kid who can't fight back?! The expression of pain quickly turned into rage, Just another mistake who thinks I'm worthless. Soni closed her eyes for a moment as the sudden urge to prove everyone wrong made her lift her feet off the ground forcefully sweeping the Eraser's feet out from under him. There here to watch me die, I won't give them the satisfaction. Soni ripped her wing out from under the Eraser's feet as he fell to the ground with a loud thud, in front of the cages. She let her gaze travel to the person who called out at her before her sudden strength vanished into just enough to lift her off the ground. Soni shakily managed to make it on her feet, her thick blonde hair tangling around her face. She forced her self to take another step knowing she wouldn't be this free for long. Soni's right wing trailed on the ground, until she rolled her shoulders up and folded her wings in. She looked back at the other mistakes in the cages and hesitated.

Mira smiled, her face lighting up. let us out, let us out, please let us out... she begged Soni mentally.
the boy calmly reached through the bars of his cage and pulled his little sister back from the door again.

Soni snarled at herself, letting her heart win over. She looked at them between the whisps of hair that covered her eyes and ran over towards the knocked out eraser that laid on the floor in front of them. She quickly found a metal club, Soni looked at the cage as raised the weapon smashing it against the lock. The club hit the lock on their cages and she turned away to run,That could have cost you your life. she thought. Her wing drooped slightly but she was determined to look strong. Soni limped away for the cages.

the boy pushed the door of his cage open and climbed out. instead of just flying away as he easily could have, he turned to help his sister. Mira's cage, while the lock was broken, the door was also jammed shut. he braced his feet against the base of the cage and pulled on the door, finally making it swing open. Mira yelled in delight and jumped out of her cage, throwing her arms around her brothers neck.
"Mira-Mira, your choking me, we don't have time for this." he protested, peeling her off of around his neck and sending her to follow Soni. "I'll try and find Skye, go on!" he whispered and started off down the other way, peeking into cages. most of them were empty and the things that where in there tried to get at him, snapping. finally he came to a cage with a crumpled form in it, bluish wings draped around the shoulders. "Skye!" he hissed, starting to undo the lock. Skye wasn't high security like the rest of them, she just couldn't unlock her self from the inside. "come on, we're going!" he opened the door and shook her shoulder, withdrawing his had quickly at how cold she was.

Soni kept limped an walked as fast as she could along the edge of the wall keeping her deep teal eyes bright. She ignored the pain growing in her large dark wings and peered over her shoulder. For some odd reason she willed herself to push past the lack of hope and faith, she wanted to prove them wrong, to prove she wasn't a waste of air and mistake. Soni knew though she could not live like this forever but she would rather prove impossible than prove breakable. She glanced back at Mira and stayed silent but looked at her with a gaze telling her to run.

Mira shook her head "no. Kip told me to stay with you, you'r not going to make me go away." she said stubbornly.
Kip rolled the figure over gently and checked for a pulse. nothing. he let out a shaky sigh and closed the door, not locking it. he dashed after Mira and Sony, roughly wiping his eyes with the back of his hand.

Soni cast a ordering glare at Mira and continued limping around further away from the cages. Her hair hun around her face as she turned the corner, only to face a huddle of white coats muttered under their breath. Eyes going wide and face whitening she quickly held out her arm hoping it would stop them. Soni plastered herself to the wall and looked around her chest heaving for air, she looked around the hall way for any chance of escape. Her dark eyes resting on a small window she held her breath knowing her only chance might kill her.

Mira mimicked her movements, not wanting to get caught.
Kip froze, seeing the two hiding against the wall. after a split second decision, he swaggered into the huddle of white coats and put his elbows on the table. "so!" he said conversationally "what are we talking about?"
Mira darted towards the window, tugging on Soni's arm, trying to get her to follow while Kip was distracting them

Soni pulled her arm away and flinched at the touch. She let the pain from her legs seep deeper into her feet as she pushed off the ground and leaped up at the window. Her fist smashed though the glass leaving long scratches down her arm. Her hea told her to jump and leave but still determined to prove impossible she dropped down from the window and stepped back from the broken glass waiting for Mira and Kip to move. Soni would have dropped right there and then and let the white coats take more test on her, but she felt responsible to help them out. With pain gnawing at her and adrenaline pumping though her veins she stood between the white coats and Mira hoping Kip would have heard the que of breaking glass.

"nope, no panic buttons aloud." Kip said, still using his conversational tone of voice and slapping a white coats hand away from a button under the table.
Mira fluttered up and climbed through the window, crouched on the roof and reached her arms back through to help Sony up, ignoring a shard of glass that was cutting into her bare foot.

Soni ignored her offer and pointed out the window towards and dense forest telling her to meet them there. She hesitated for a slight moment then pushed Mira out the window wishing she would do as Soni told her. Her instinct of fight or flight was pushing her towards the flight mode. Knowing the they only had a few Safe moments she lunged across the hall way and snagged her fingers on the back of Kip's shirt trying to pull him away. The only thing keeping her from dropping dead was the adrenaline.

Kip let out a startled cough and stumbled backwards as his shirt was grabbed "alrighty then! be seeing you later!" he said cheerily and waved. he then righted himself and dashed after Soni "where's Mira?" he asked her, a little sharply.
Mira nodded and purposely tumbled backwards, falling off the edge of the roof and using the momentum as a head start in flying.

She didn't answer but nodded, telling him she was alright. Soni gasped for air and winced every step she took, she was able to pull out enough energy to leap up at the window the sharp edges of glass tearing at her shoulders. Her pain coated eyes closed as she tumbled down off the roof, for a scary moment she was sure if her wing was broken before she snapped them away from her back and bit her lip as the wind pulled her feathers upward sharply. Soni didn't look back an kept her black wings stretched out and then pushed down getting higher up. Sighing glanced at the tree line as her mind started fading the only thing between her and death, being the rush.

Kip flew close to Soni, he could tell she might drop at any time. he knew the circumstances where horrid and they could die within moments, but it felt good to have the wind on his face again.
Mira was having a little trouble flying, due to lack of experience and the fact that she didn't quite have all her feathers yet, just most of them.

Soni panted her chest heaving, he eyes flickered but she stayed steady only closing her eyes every five minitues or so. She spun the ring on her finger nervously and sighed a smiled creeping onto her face, maybe she could lead a somewhat normal life now that strangers weren't stabbing her with needles every day. She dropped her smiled knowing this would never happen. With her heart starting to slow down she changed he direction to the tip of the pine forest. Soni waited until she hovered above a large tree and dropped down into its branches holding out her arms catching onto the branches.

"Kip! where's Skye?" Mira asked, flying over from a nearby tree and landing a bit clumsily on a branch.
Kip ignored the question and turned his attention to Soni "thanks for helping us out of there." he said awkwardly "you probably know our names already, but I'm Kip and that's Mira."
