  • Slate glanced over his shoulder at her, smiling. Slate felt something collide harshly into his side, smashing him against a tree. He didn't have time to register what happened, he landed on the ground, crushing weight on his back. He was tangled in a net. He squinted his eyes to make out a shadowy figure towering over him, the erasers hot breath cascading down onto his face. He made out more figures lingering in the shadows, and his eyes widened a little. He didnt see the blade the eraser held until he felt it. Slate held still, the steel of the blade cold to his neck. Slate glared up at it, glancing around for Dusk, praying she was still alive. Slate strugged to get free but it was impossible with a blade pressed to his neck. He didn't know what the erasers were waiting for.

  • Dusk had flown straight into another net. She let out a gasp in surprise as she hit the ground, quickly getting tangled up. She yelped when she felt the sting of a blade slicing into her leg.

  • Slate heard the familiar noise of a helicopter, his mind drifted for a minute- they were taking them back... "The school..." He whispered in horror.
    --
The eraser growled, a sneer on its face. "That's right. And from what i can tell, you didn't have much time left to live anyway." It growled, smiling.
    --
Slate felt the pressure of the blade release, he struggled against the eraser's weight as it stepped on him as if he were nothing. Pinning him with ease. Slate growled in irritation at its comment, "I have more time than you." He spat.
    --
The eraser growled, "Shut up!" It snapped, kicking at him.
    --
Slate ignored the sting, he grabbed at the net, burning it. He ripped it quickly, freeing himself. Before he could think about what he was doing, he launched himself at the eraser, tackling it to the ground. He hit it swiftly to the face with his fist. There was a gunshot and Slate fell over limp, blood dripping onto the grass
    --
The eraser flung him off in disgust. "Send them up." It growled. It glanced to Dusk, "Tranquilize her." It added before it picked Slate up bringing him up to the helicopter, leaving the other erasers to bring Dusk up.

  • Dusk had watched that scene with horror. She began to struggle, trying to get free, but winced when she felt the sting of a tranquilizer dart. She began to get sleepy, and she slipped into unconsciousness. An eraser untangled her from the net. It picked her up and brought her up to the helicopter.

  • Slate's vision was hazed as he woke up. He felt awful pain in the front of his left shoulder, and he figured out he was being carried- slung over the shoulder of an eraser. He tested out his arms but they were bound together. He turned his head slowly, seeing the still Dusk slung over another eraser's shoulder. He panicked mentally, looking for any signs of life. He let out a small oof of pain as the eraser jolted to a stop before going back into its jog. He wasn't sure what they were doing with them but hoped they'd get to where they were going quickly... He was losing blood. Slate felt them stop again, cool air hit him from behind, and doors closed behind them. He tried to peek over his shoulder and already knew where they were... The school of course.

  • Dusk was still unconscious when they arrived. She was starting to slowly drift back to consciousness, though.

  • Slate was nearly unconscious again by the time he was thrown into a cage. He cringed as he hit the cool metal, but didn't do much else. He watched as they brought Dusk in, his eyes filled with slack hope.

  • Dusk had gained full consciousness by the time she was thrown into the cage. She gasped a little, then looked around for Slate.

  • Dusk jumped a little when she heard his voice coming from beside her cage. She turned to look at him. "Slate, are you alright?" She asked, worry in her eyes.

  • "I'm fine." Dusk replied. She glanced around with a slight sigh. "How the heck did we end up back here?" She asked, replaying the events from earlier. They had been relaxing in the peace.

  • Dusk's eyes flickered back to him. "Why are you giving up so easily?" She asked quietly. Sure, she was close to giving up, but she wanted to put up at least a small fight first.
