  • Dusk glanced at Slate. "Are you alright?" She asked, tilting her head some.

  • Slate nodded, but made no attempt to speak. His jaw flexing, fighting against the pain.
    --
Ash blinked, looking away. "It happens every now and then. Something went wrong in one of his tests, he almost died. But he recovered eventually, they were human enough to spare him." She said, her sentence ending bitterly.

  • Dusk nodded, understanding. She continued to nibble on some of her fries.

  • Slate felt a great darkness wash over him, tugging at him. He fell limp on his side with a quiet thud, the noise ricocheting off the hard walls.
    --
Ash's attention flicked over to him. She scrambled over to him in alarm, shaking his shoulder gently. She flipped him onto his back, she could sense he was alive but this had never happened before...

  • Dusk looked over at Ash. "Has this ever happened before?" She asked.

  • Ash shook her head, "Never..." she said, a hand laying on his arm.
    --
Slate tried to find a way to control his eyes, move a hand... Something. Fight against the darkness that overpowered him. After a few minutes Slate shifted his arm, finding enough will to open his eyes.

  • Dusk looked down, seeing his eyes open. "Slate?" She asked again, touching his shoulder.

  • The right corner of his lip lifted into a partial grin, "Hey, did i miss anything?" He asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
    --
Ash rolled her eyes, "You about scared me to death!" she growled, but she was smiling, glad to see him awake.

  • Dusk rolled her eyes. "Yes, thank you so much for that scare." She said sarcasticly.

  • He cackled lightly, his attempts of sitting up resulted in him falling again and he gave up. "I might as well have been knocked cold with a thousand buses." He murmured, a hand slipping up to his head where he lay.
    --
Ash stood up, "Just recover for a bit, not like we have much to do the rest of the day anyway.

  • "Just try not to do that again." Dusk said, walking back to where she was sitting earlier.

  • "Mmm." Was all Dusk replied with. She was looking out at the trees again.

  • "Just the trees." Dusk said. Alright, you could call her a nature lover.

  • He smirked, "What is so interesting about staring trees? " He asked, walking out into the sunlight. "All i do is climb 'em." He said, jumping up on a branch of a nearby tree, pulling himself up.

  • "Well, I'm the kind of person who could sit still for hours, just listening to nature." Dusk replied.
