Lakodah looked at the place she'd called home for sixteen years. I can't believe I have to leave.. she sighed, her eyes filling with tears. She walked around the the back and planted a small seed in the mound of earth where her was now buried. Tears ran down her face. Only hours ago, her dog had been run over. "I'll miss you, Gizmo," she whispered, walking slowly, reluctantly, to her car. She ran her eyes over the surface of the house again before backing out of the driveway and driving away. If I drive all night, I'll be in my new home by morning she thought. With that, she gripped the wheel tighter and continued on her way.
