  • "It's the 2070's, and science isn't what it used to be. Scientists take young humans and mix their DNA with the DNA of other animals. It's sick, its wrong, its painful, and its a secret, so if it gets out, the mutant hybrids get put it zoos. Luckily for you, a group of intern scientists, better known as the whitecoats, felt sorry for you guys. They took you to their homes and helped teach you to live on your own. That was three years ago. The expiraments ran away before anything bad could happen and now they are on the run. Food, shelter, and most importantly safety is all that matters. Going back to the lab called the School is not an option."

  • Lydi sat, her hands wrapped around her knees on the cold stone floor of the cave. She, they, were safe for tonight. She glanced behind her and saw the fire dying slowly, and her "family" was sleeping quietly. They would make it. Nothing bad would happen. Lydi smiled and watched the rise and fall of their chests, it was peaceful to see them all so safe.

  • Andrei shivered slightly she retracted her claws

  • Lydi noticed Andrei shivering. As silent as she could she crept closer to the fire. She blew on it slightly and put another tree branch on it. She didn't want to create even more unnessisary smoke, so she plucked off all of the leaves. The fire burned brighter, and warmer too. Content, Lydi brushed her hands on her jeans and sat back at the mouth of the cave. Judging by the position of the moon, and by just random guessing, she figured that she would have another hour or so of watch before it was Andrei's turn.

  • Andrei woke up and shook her head "I'll take over early" she said standing up

  • Lydi looked at her. "No, go back to sleep. You need it more than i do. Your body is different than mine and yours requires more sleep. Sleep." she said, trying to be feirce, yet quiet enough to not wake the others.

  • "I am a cat" she said

  • Lydi nodded. "Yeah, so sleep. I got this for another hour." she said. She didnt want to admit it but she liked night watch, it was the only time she got to herself. Other times she had to think about everyone else and what they need, or their feelings and sometimes even their thoughts filled her head.

  • she shrugged and went outside seeing clearly in the darkness

  • Lydi closed her eyes and tried to find her thoughts. Nope. "Where do think your going?" Lydi asked. Now she was mad. Ok, so maybe she wasn't the oldest, but she was still the leader, and she was the one her family had better listen too.

  • "climbing" she said

  • Lydi huffed. She promised herself to watch her with extra care, the last thing she wanted was a battle with whatever nasty thing the School would be making.

  • she started climbing her claws coming out she smiled

  • Lydi crossed her ankles and put her hands behind her think pink head, and relaxed, but she wasnt tired, and wouldn't fall asleep.

  • she caught a bird and she went back to the cave "look!' she said happy with herself

  • OCC.see ya

IC. "yeah" she said stuffing a wing in her mouth

  • Lydi watched. "Roast it, you're gonna throw up. I dont care how much of a cat you are, your mostly human and your gonna get sick and we do NOt need you throwing up everywhere."

"Shut it!" a grumpy voice mumbled. "Some of us are trying to sleep!"

"Too bad, Darian," Lydi threw a pebble at him.

    "Meh..." Darian mumbled.

  • she rolled her eyes and cooked it but only so it was rare

  • Lydi flared her nostrils, but then let it go, "pick your battles Lydi, let it go" she mouthed to herself so they couldn't hear. Lydi looked behind her again. It seemed Darian had fallen back asleep again. She rolled her eyes mentally at him. Lauri was sleeping, curled by Nyx. Lydi smiled, her family was still safe, and even happy.
