  • Reedflower walked into the clearing. Most of the cats stared at her, disturbed. The dappled she-cat swallowed dry and padded over to the fresh-kill-pile, dropping the rabbit she had caught. She picked a fat pigeon and looked around for a good place to eat. Walking to the front of the Warrior's Den, she noticed a few other Warriors walked away to a far place. Reedflower leet a long sigh. She looked down at her own body: her scruffy and scarred pelt would make anyone distured. She meowed to herself. "One should not judge others by appearance."

  • Yawning, a pure white she-cat emerged from the warriors' den, her keen blue eyes coming to rest on a battered-looking female. Tilting her head, the femme padded over to Reedflower.
"Something wrong? You look pretty down."

  • Reedflower looked at the white she-cat, surprised. "It's not exactly a big deal, but other cats doesn't like my appearance. They think my appearance is just like my personality. But it isn't..." she sighed.

  • Thistlekit padded towards the fresh-kill pile and noticed the downcast dappled she-cat speaking with the white she-cat. He grabbed a small thrush and padded back towards the Nursery, but tripped over his thrush, bowling into Reedflower's side.

  • Thistlekit's ears burned with embarrassment. "S-sorry" He mewed "I-I didn't mean to bump into you." He bit into his thrush "Wh-what are you talking about?" He asked softly.

  • "Nothing, Thistlekit." Reedflower replied simply. She noticed that the kit's voice was trembling. Was he just embarassed or he was scared of her look?

  • Thistlekit pawed the ground. "I should probably take this back to my littermates now..." he mewed "I'll see if we can talk later... Seeya, Reedflower!" He grabbed his thrush and padded back to the Nursery. His mother told him not to speak with Reedflower because she was different... But he didn't think there was anything wrong with her.

  • "See ya, Thistlekit." Reedflower meowed as he walked away. Reedflower crouched and continued to eat her pigeon.

  • Thistlekit set the thrush on the ground and his littermates ravenously dug into it. He sat down, already having eaten his fill, and thought about Reedflower. Why did nobody speak to the scraggly-pelted she-cat? Was it because of her pelt? He snuggled into his mother's belly and fell asleep, mind churning.

  • Bunnykit hopped over to Reedflower. "Hi!" He yelped and hopped off. He then reliased who he said "Hi" to and smack his head against the ground.

  • Cometkit stared at Bunnykit. "You could hurt yourself." He scolded, lashing his tail. Being the oldest of the kits, he took it upon himself to disipline them when thier mother wasn't around. Then he saw Reedflower, tilting his head to one side as he ate some more thrush. "She dosen't look bad." He mewled, confusion in his voice. "If she's part of our Clan, then why can't we talk to her?" Again, because he was the oldest, he was always first to question authority.

  • "Because my Littermates said they would shove dirt in my mouth If I ever talked to her..." Bunnykit yelped, Looking at Reedflower.

  • Cometkit sighed. "I'm partially related to you, and I'm the oldest kit in the nursery. Just tell them that you can do what you want. What's the harm in just talking to someone?" He arched his back, unsheathing his claws, then lashed his tail and walked up to Reedflower. "I'm going to prove it to you right now. I can talk to her and nothing's going to happen. Watch." Cometkit sat up and mewled "Hello." He smirked at his younger half littermates. "See? Didn't I tell you that nothing would happen if I just talked? Sheesh. Flea-brains."

  • Suddenly, Four kits leapt on Cometkit, Throwing dirt at her/him. Bunnykit gulped and hid in a corner.

  • Cometkit growled and shoved them off. They were smaller then him, and he was much more powerful. He unsheathed his claws and hissed "Unless you want to become mincemeat then stay out of my face!"

  • The kits spat at Cometkit and began chewing his claws. Bunnykit slowly approached Reedflower.

  • Cometkit shook them off. His claws were in just as good condition as they were before. He ran off and hid behind Reedflower, hissing. "Go away you pathetic scraps of fur! Leave me alone!"

  • Rabbitpaw, a spunky, bobtailed, pure white she cat padded upon a group of cats. She cocked her head. "What the heck is going on here?"

  • Cometkit poked his head out from behind Reedflower and mewled "They threw dirt at me just because I was talking to Reedflower! All I did was talk. I didn't do anything wrong."
