    Cynthia looked around the small, shabby Pokemon lab. The Proffesser was digging around in her storage, then pulled out three pokeballs. "Your choice," Professor Anne said, holding out the pokeballs, "choose anyone. In each one is a starter pokemon. You will need a starter pokemon for your journey across Sinnoh, and a good companion."
    Cynthia picked up one of the Pokeballs, then pressed the button in the middle. A beam of light spread across the room, and out came the water pokemon, Piplup.

    Kanon sat outside, the pokeball containing his Chimchar, Flame, in his hand.

    "Pip-pip!" it said in a squeaky voice, then jump into her arms.
    "Looks like he likes you already," Professer Anne said, smiling as she handed her a Pokedex, "It looks like your ready for your journey."
    Cynthia nodded her thanks, and walked out the door, not seeing Kanon at first.

    "Pip-pip!" Cynthia's piplup squealed, obviously scared of chimchar as he climbed under Cynthia's hat.
    "My name is Cynthia," she said, reaching her hand out to shake his, "and I see you've got Chimchar."

    Reaching up and taking her hat off, Piplup squealed again, "Oh calm down, Piplup," she said, and then held the little Piplup in her arms, "Well, Professor Anne said I would need someone to journey with, would you like to come with Piplup and I?"

    He said, "Sure."/ Flame blinked. He didnt understand why Piplup was scared of him even though he had a type disadvantage.

    Cradling piplup in her arms, she smiled, and dug around in her belt for her pokeball. When she found it she pressed the button, "Piplup, return."
    "Shall we get going?" she asked him, putting her hate back on her head and her pokeball back on her bely.

    Soon enough, a patch of grass came into sight, and a small Bidoof sat in the grass eating a nut. Cynthia reached for her Pokedex, and opened it. It turned on and tried to identify the Pokemon.Finally, it came up, "Bidoof, the beaver type pokemon," it said.

    She continued to read about it on the pokedex, then checked her belt for any spare pokeballs. She only had Piplups pokeball, Dang it. she thought, then flipped her pokedex closed and put it up. She watched the bidoof then shot Kanon a look as if to say, "Gonna catch it?"
