A black and white Tom cat sat on top of the pile of junk. He looked down, surveying his surroundings. Yes, this would do just fine, he thought. He licked the blood off his paw and smiled this would do fine indeed.
Something...or someone is coming. Be prepared.

Rain padded through the swathes of junk, her long, grimy fur hanging over her thin grey eyes. Swallowing the last of the mouse, she looked coldly up when she saw him. It wasn't often that you saw a new cat around here.
Unsheathing her claws, Rain carried on staring.
"Who are you?" -
Phantom narrowed his eyes at the cat, then smiled, but there was something strange about the smile. "I'm Phantom, and you are?"
-
There was something unusual about this new cat, thought Rain, smiling cooly back before answering.
"Rain. I've been here a while - I'm guessing you haven't?" -
A gray she-cat also padded up. " New cats?" she mewed. " I'm Ghost." she stared at the black and white Tom.
-
Rain turned briskly to see the new arrival. Not a new cat, she decided by the fact that the cat seemed comfortable here, although Rain hadn't seen this cat before.
"Hello, Ghost." -
" Who's that cat?" Ghost stared up at Phantom. " Looks new here. Did you used to be a kitty pet?" she yowled up to him.
-
Rain looked to Phantom. How did he come here?
-
" You don't smell like a kitty pet. Guess your owners are too soft and don't want to put a collar on you?" Ghost teased. Her parents had been kitty pets. But they were loners for a long, long time. They lot the kitty pet scent and all. And she never lived a kitty pet life, anyway.
-
"Kittypet," he laughed at the thought, "No, I'm no kittypet. I came he from a clan but I...left it. I would never live as a kittypet." he flicked his tail a bit as though he had been a bit insulted. "And, the names Phantom." He said looking at Ghost.
-
" Clan?" Ghost echoed. " Oh! Wildcats! Why'd you leave, then? Isn't live better there than here? You know, there are dogs here." she mewed, her ears pricking at the sound of barking far away. " I live in a cardboard box. Do you know what that is?"
-
"Cardboard is this correct?" pointed his tail at some cardboard at the bottom of a pile. "I left because I would like to start a clan of my own, I have come here to collect cats to join me."
-
" Correct." Ghost mewed, nestling in the box. " I probably won't join you. " she mewed. Then her ears price up again. " Dogs! They're close!" she raced up a pile of junk and climbed up a tall stack of twoleg's monsters. She wasnt that far. " This is the only way to escape them." she explained.
-
He smiled up towards her and gave a laugh. "I'm not afraid of dogs, I never was but especially not now." He looked over towards a different trash heap.
-
From behind a trash heap walked a huge German shepherd husky mix dog who towered over the cats growling.
-
" A-are you sure you want to fight that one?" Ghost's mew was a bit shaky. She was almost at the top of the twoleg monster heap now, it was a short one, thankfully, not as tall as the skyscrapers that towered into the sky. But she was high enough. She padded into the monster, thankful it wouldnt wake up anytime soon.
-
"Oh no, I've already faught this one my dear. He answers to me now, he isn't growling at me...he's growling at the other dogs." Phantom smiled, "Though I could go through the trouble of fighting the other dogs...i don't quite feel like it at the moment."
-
" Allies with a dog?!" Ghost hissed, crawling down the stack of Cars. " Cats aren't friends wih dogs! Dogs eat cats!" she growled at the dog. " And he looks weirder than one I've seen before."
-
"Oh it's strictly business, and if he got out of line ever I could easily take him out." He looked at the dog and smiled. "You can go back you whatever you were doing Buck...the threat has passed." He looked back to Ghost. "By not killing him when I could have makes it so he owes me a life debt. I figured if im going to start a clan, I was going to need a one up on all of the others. Then he came along."
-
Buck glared at Ghost and growled, "I appreciate the complement.." he grumble walking back to a couch in the junkyard imitating he "Weirder than most dog, hmf, I'd like to eat her." He sat down on the couch curled up and closed his eyes.
