  • The creature staggered to its feet, glaring at Vick. With a screech, it June's onto his back, digging its claws into his shoulder blades. He toppled forward with a yell as pain seared through him.

  • Her eyes shot open at the sound of the scream she knew that was Vick's. Bolting her long legs carrying her nimbling over objects in her path. Yanking her dagger from her belt he pulled to a hault she the creature on top of him. Lifing her dagger slightly she prepared to throw it, throwing it she hit her aim just right so that the dagger went straight into the head of the creature.

  • A squeal escaped its jagged jaws, and it leaped off of Vick, heading straight for Sky. Vick scrambled to his knees, grabbing the back foot of the Capybara-like creature and yanking it backward, utterly stunned by its strength. Wratling it to the ground, he pulled Sky's dagger out of its head and jammed it into its heart. It fell still. Panting, he stood up and sprinted over to her, where he wrapped his arms tightly around her and hugged her close to him.

  • Watching as that didn't kill it she cursed under her breath, but atleast it gave Vick some time. Freezing in her tracks as the thing turned to bolt at her, her eyes widened slightly and her heart beat rose. Waiting she froze as the thing fell motionless, and as Vick got up running over to her. Smiling she hugged him back tightly as he hugged her, wrapping her arms around his neck.

  • "Thank God you're safe," He whispered, running a hand gently through her hair and giving her a weak, yet meaningful smile.

  • Hiding her face in his chest, she squeezed her eyes shut quickly. Lifting her head she pulled open her eyes. "Atleast you're ok," she said looking up at him before hiding her head back in his chest.

  • He stroked her back gently. "We're both fine, that's all that matters," He whispered soothingly, kissing the top of her head.

  • Smiling and nodding she hugged him back tightly, not caring about anything else other than they were both safe.

  • Just then, a large male tribute rounded a tree, eyes wild, hair a mess. Upon seeing the two, he threw the machete he was gripping. It flew just past them, causing Vick to force Sky to the ground. He whipped around, pulling a small yet sharp knife out of his belt and throwing it. The other tribute dodged it, and hefted a spear.

  • Falling back her eyes wide as she reached for a dagger. It was still in the creature type thing, looking around quickly she had nothing. Pushing a hand behind her she readied herself to jump up if she had to.

  • He hurled the spear at Sky. "No!" Vick hurled himself in front of her, the spear lodging itself into his thigh. Groaning, he dropped to the ground.

  • Seeing her dagger ladged not far she stood up slowly and bolted seeing the tribute run towards her. Just as her hand clamped around the dagger, the tribute tackled her to the ground. Strugling under his weight he moved his hnads to her throat. Sucking in one last breath his hands clamped down. Strugling she got the dagger free and jammed it in his throat, watching as he fell over lifeless. Rolling over she cucked in a few breath rubbing her throat slightly.

Looking up she saw Vick and rushed over stil breathing hard and trying to catch her breath. "V-Vick," she huffed and looked towards the spear. Looking around quickly she kneeled beside him looking down.

  • He could barely hear the cannon sound. "Sky..." Reaching up to brush a strand of hair out of her face, he let a shaky breath escape his throat. Blood dripped out of his leg, and he stared into her eyes, his gaze starting to glaze over.

  • Her eyes widened as his gaze began to glaze over, "No, your alright," Sky said in a shaky voice. Reaching down she took his hand, then looking towards the spear. Biting her bottom lip she wrapped her hand around it, and pulled and the spear slid out. Dropping it to her side, she looked down at him again, her eyes pleading.

  • Shaking her head, "No I didn't," she said saftly, "Without you that would've went right through my heart, before when you killed that girl, she would killed me, then the first time you have my life in you hands, you could've taken it," she said shakily. A tear rolled down her cheek, "You won Vick, I am just a puny district 12 girl saved by a career," she mumbled hiding her face in her hands.

  • "No." He took her face gently in his hands. "Look at me. You are the strongest girl that I know, and you deserve to win. You deserve everything. Without you, I wouldn't have got this far. I wouldn't have had any motivation." He drew a shaky breath, knowing that the Gamemakers were just waiting for his life to slip away before they announced her the winner.

  • Tears rolling down her cheeks as she looked up at him listening to his words. Sniffeling she curled up next to him squeezing her eyes shut laying her head against him as a few sobs shook her body, but raising her head finally. "We either die together or win together," Sky said softly looking up at him.

  • He waited for a moment, before nodding. Gripping his dagger in his right hand, he raised it, eyes flashing in defiance. This would show the Capitol.
