iam headed back towards the kitchen. "I'll see what I've got."

Callika followed, thinking for a moment about life back at the market.

Liam looked through the cabinet of the kitchen flr anything to eat.

Callika stood and watched him, her eyes flickering with thought.

Liam took out some bread and searched through the fridge for something else. "Sorry, you'll have to settle for a sandwich."

Liam pulled out some pickles, turkey, mayonnaise, and any other things he could make a sandwich with. He pushed them on the counter towards Callika. "You can make your own sandwich if you want."

Callika nodded and glanced at the different things, deciding what to put in it.

Liam had started making his sandwich.

Callika made a turkey sandwich, and soon finished making it.

Liam finished making his own sandwich and began eating.

Callika began to eat her own sandwich, wondering when the last time she'd had a sandwich was.

Liam ate absentmindedly wondering what his father would think of Callika.

Callika absorbed herself in her thoughts, mainly wondering what kind of job she'd be doing as she ate.

Liam finished his sandwich after a while and gazed out at the dark night outside. "We should probably get to bed."

Callika finished her sandwich and nodded, glancing outside at the darkness.

Liam glanced back at Callika. "There's some fresh clothes in the spare bedroom and the shower's just down the hall," he reminded her before heading towards the hallway.

Callika nodded again and turned, walking towards the spare bedroom.

Liam entered his bedroom, the first room in the hallway, and shut the door behind him.
