"You're not. You're Thunderclan, and Bloodclan," said Orchidblood. "But that's only by heritage. You were born in Windclan. So, it's up to Scarredstar what to decide."

"Doesn't being here count for something?" Asterkit asked Orchidblood, who seemed rather knowledgable in comparison to anyone else who was really talking about these important issues at the time. And then an another importnat thing came to him: "What's ThunderClan?"
-
"And what's BloodClan?" piped Letterkit, hazel eyes watery as if he were about to cry any second now. He looked over at Orchidblood, then back at his mother.
-
"To me it does," said Orchidblood, "but the choice isn't up to me. Bloodclan's just another clan...a not so nice one which is why your father's far far away."
-
Hawktalon snapped his head up in shock, staring at Orchidblood. Uncertain how to handle the situation, he could only look over to Eastpaw and wait for her answer. Wasn't it their idea...that he pretend to be the kits father?
-
Orchidblood looked at him and figured he was just shocked at her decision to begin educating the kits about their real past. In her mind, they were ready for it. The rape did not have to be mentioned at this point, only their heritage and that their parents had not stayed together.
-
Eastpaw growled in annoyance, "Orchidblood. Whyd you say that? Now Scarredstar will deffinitly not let them stay!" She didnt know how to face him now.
-
"..What?" Orchidblood stared at her friend. "What did I do? Look, i'm sorry, I...what does that have to do with them staying or not though? He won't blame them for bring part bloodclan, they can't help it!"
-
"But now they arent Windclan! And he will know it. So now its off to Thunderclan, or Starclan forbid Bloodclan." Eastpaw sighed, she though Orchidblood knew this already. Why else had they decided to say Hawktalon was the kits father? Now nothing tied these kits to Windclan.
-
"But--" Orchidblood shook her head. She still thought Hawktalon was serving as an adopted father, she was unaware of any attempt at deception. "Scarredstar already knows they're not Thunderclan, Eastpaw. They're your kits. They were born and raised here, though, so if they tell him how they feel about being taken from the only clan they've ever known, maybe he would sympathise."
-
"He wont symapthize with that," Eastpaw mewed simply with a shake of her head. "Weve told him that already."
-
Orchidblood felt her head was spinning. "I can't say I agree, it's unfair to make kits leave the only home they know." She paused, trying to think of a way. She thought of going too, but her family needed her here. And she'd never feel at home in Thunderclan. She'd get miserable and that would spread to everyone around her. Assuming that Thunderclan's leader even let her in, though he seemed pretty much asleep at the wheel from what she had heard--not seen, because he had yet to show up at any Gathering she'd been in.
"I just can't lie to him, Eastpaw. You guys do what you see fit and think would work but I want nothing to do with it. It'll only mean more trouble further down the way."
-
"Well theres no use lieing to him now, the kits know the truth," Eastpaw mewed. "Although it wasnt really a LIE. They might as well be Hawktalon's sons and daughters and he their father. That Bloodclan tom doesnt fit the description at all." She shrugged, it didnt really matter. She saw no reason to meet with Scarredstar now. Now shed just have to tell him the truth. And alot of good that would do.
-
Orchidblood frowned. "It's still lying, Eastpaw and it'd just be a bad idea for the future. Listen I'm sorry, I didn't know you didn't want them ever knowing. That's just not how I was raised. I didn't want to ruin everything."
-
Eastpaw looked at Orchidblood. Shed be lieing again if she said she was disappointed in Orchidblood for revealing what she never wanted her kits to find out. Sighing inwardly, as she remembered that day at the battlefield. Oh well, another night of nightmares about my r.ape. She shrugged, "Its okay, Orchidblood. It probably would have come out eventually. What then, right? Better now I suppose."
-
"Definitely better now." Orchidblood hoped she didn't think she meant the whole truth. The rape itself? She'd never voice that to the kits herself. That was entirely up to Eastpaw, she thought.
-
Eastpaw shrugged, "Diamondkit? You said Scarredstar wants to speak to me? Lets go then.." She wondered what he was going to ask. She glanced at Orchidblood, "its fine really. Dont worry about it. You just basically made me finally tell them the truth. Nothing bad. Dun worry."
-
Diamondkit flicked her gaze to Orchidblood, eyes narrowing slightly in thought. Their father was from Bloodclan? That for sure wasn't one of the four originals, or not from what she'd heard about them. So what was Bloodclan?
Her gaze turned downward. The name alone...told her is couldn't possibly be good.
She nodded to her mother. "Alright," though her posture now slumped. -
Orchidblood sighed....there'd be no way for her to feel good about how this had gone. She felt horrible. "Starclan give you best of luck..."
-
Hawktalon got to his paws, staring at the cats. "Did you...did you want me to go with, Eastpaw?"
