• A newly joined tom and his pregnant mate made their way from the Parlor- it was only now that they realized, after their long journey and eagerness to join for enough food to keep them alive, that they had little idea of what this clan was like.
Hesitating, and obviously looking lost, the two looked around for someone who seemed "senior" to this clan- someone to help them. Someone to welcome them.

((This will be teaching me as much as it's teaching my cats. x3))

  • Suki crouched in the shadows of the mansion, the trainee staying hidden from the sunlight. She crouched on a square of the tiled floor, afraid of the cracks due to her Ocd. Upon seeing the two cats, she asumed they were Elite members, but she couldn't be sure due to no sense of smell. Her half a tail twitched as her color-blind, violet gaze followed the cats' every move. She just hoped they weren't yellow, or had any thing to do with flowers or long words, or were a spirit. She sensed that they weren't hurt and sighed in relief, not in the mood to feel pain at the moment. The young Mortem called out to them in her usual low, yet soft voice. "Hi" the adopted kitten mewed.

    Goodbye, blue sky.
    Goodbye.

The tomcat looked sideways, nearly jumping when he heard the sound of a voice over the loud and incessant buzzing of flies all around. "Oh, hello," he meowed, speaking for his mate who was, instead of looking up, gazing intently at the ground where her paws sat.
"Er.. Er.. We were hoping some cat could show us around. We're new here, you see."

Did you see the frightened ones?
Did you hear the falling bombs?
The flames are all gone, but the pain lingers on.

  • Violet Vita was making her usual rounds of the mansion when she spotted two cats. Walking over and nodding, the healer trainee signed a hello. She was mute, and though most Elite cats understood her crude form of sign-language, these newcomers most likely did not. These were new cats, perhaps she could lead them into a family, Mirage, her sister and also head of the Callidus family would welcome them.

    Goodbye, blue sky.
    Goodbye.

Kakra, the she-cat, waved her tail in greeting to the quiet, younger cat who had approached. She didn't speak since the other cat didn't- not wanting to offend. Her mate, Ata, however- just stared.
Kakra cleared her throat and spoke up after a moment, though: "Hello. We just joined and were looking for some help."

  • Nodding in a friendly manner, Violet ignored the staring. She waved her tail toward a room full of cats, did they have a family yet? If not, she could help them out. Families always made everything easier.

  • Kakra blinked her eyes in confusion, looking toward the room and back to the she-cat. "Er... In there? We haven't met anyone yet at all, so..." her point was that the pair felt quite uncomfortable around everyone, but it made the point also that they obviously would have no family.
Ata lashed his tail, frowning into the room, where the odd glance was casted at them.

  • "So why not start now?" a black tom mewed, walking towards them. "Nikhil Aequilai, head of the sentinel and tracker Family," he introduced himself, dipping his head courteously. Newcomers - especially the clueless ones - could be useful when you handled them the right way, and Nikhil was perfectly capable of acting the gentleman when he needed to. "Please excuse my barging in on the conversation, but I overheard you saying you needed help with something."

  • Both heads turned again, though in a moment Kakra lost interest and turned back to the quiet She-cat, offering her another hesitant smile. This is the part when Ata spoke up, something he only did in the presence of other toms.
"We do- no one explained to us yet the concept of these "Families", but I think I get the idea. We would like to find one," his ears flicked slightly, trying to shoo a fly away, "But... I don't think my mate and I have the same family-interest."

  • "And what are those interests?" Nikhil asked, seeing an opportunity right away. "I might be able to offer you a place in mine if you want," he added, though most cats preferred the more glamorous jobs of assassins and healers.

  • Violet pointed once more to the room, the mute she-cat had spotted her sister- head of the Callidus family. The she-cat was not looking their way, bu she was patiently instructing a young trainee on how to climb a wall. Mirage's family had a few things they specialized in, and she would no doubt welcome them. When Nikhil entered, Violet smiled in a friendly manner to him, he was the cat who took them into the Elite. The reason she and her sister had survived.

  • At the same time, both cats responded- "Healing," said Kakra, and "Fighting" responded Ata. They frowned at the other's response, thinking it petty or brutish. It was obvious that Ata, by his build, was more made for things like hunting and fighting, while Kakra was in too delicate a state to do much of anything.
"What does your family do, again?" Ata prompted, looking toward the tomcat, while Kakra took a moment again to look into the room.

  • Mirage Callidus, seeing her sister, Nikhil and some newcomers, left the trainee to practice and walked toward them. The periwinkle-eyed seal point meowed, "Hello, I'm Mirage, and you are?"

  • "I'm Kakra, this is my mate Ata," the tabby she-cat introduced herself and her mate, but Ata kept his attention on the other tom. "We've recently joined."

  • Mirage nodded, and she had noticed their strange expressions toward Violet. "Oh, this is Violet Vita, my sister. She is mute, so she can't speak. Anyway, so you are looking for a family? I thought I heard healing, well, Violet is in the Vita family, they are our healers. However I'm not sure that Ambrosia will be taking in any more cats, because she just took in some, Including Vi, about a month ago. I'm head of the Callidus family, we are builders, thieves, and aerial combat experts for the Elite. We basically keep the mansion from tumbling down." he ended with an amused tone in her voice.

  • "Builders?" Kakra chimed, her ears twitching. She liked only one part of this family, it seemed- fighting just wasn't her forte and she found herself unable to keep secrets of stealing very well. "It sounds interesting."

  • "Yes," Mirage replied, elaborating, "We can repair rafters, fix leaks, cover holes, fix cracks in windows, get rid of drafts, and other things"

  • Kakra nodded her head, eyes widening. "It sounds interesting." she admitted, bowing her head slightly. Yes, the building did sound interesting... But the thieving did not seem to tickle her fancy.
