Ivan sniffed and shivered, his hackles shaking with him as he looked around sickly. His voice was stuffed and he felt like he had a cold for a moment. " Jake?" he rasped, looking up towards the silent figure. " Jake!?" he voice screeched, rough and hoarsly. He grimaced and paused for a moment, an errie stilness unfolding around Jakes body. " JAKE!!!!????" he pitched in a terrified yelp, feeling a sense of unease at the sudden silence. Ivan lurched and tried to get to his paws, but his chest fell heavily and he toppled badly onto his flank. Ivan groaned, wishing that Venus could hurry with the water.

Venus found a flowerpot full of rainwater, and managed to drag it back to the den. She stopped, panting, before seeing Jake. "Jake?" She barked, nudging him with her muzzle.

He didnt move. His paws twitched. He still wasnt breathing.

"Jake!" Venus barked again, panicking. She didn't know what to do.

Jake pointed a claw weakly at the water.

Venus dragged the water over, tipping it a little so that some of it formed a puddle on the floor next to Jake.

He let it soak his tounge, and swallowed. He started to breathe again.

Venus sat down, relieved but exhausted a she looked over at Ivan.

Ivan let his shoulder's sink, the pain and the worry dissolving. A soft encouringing grin split his maw and he nodded shortly. " Thanks for...saving him." he swallowed, wishing he could simply swallow back this sickly feeling.

Jake gasped. "LET IVAN HAVE SOME!" he screamed.

Venus didn't say anything, tipping the pot again so some water spilled onto the ground by Ivan.

Ivan licked his mouth stiffly, his mouth felt completly dry ad possibly numb. He sniffed and wiggled his tongue out towards the puddle. The broad Male, managed to lick up enough to suit him before the puddle dried out. " Venus...I can't thank you enough. You deserve more than this..." he stated, holding his gaze into Venus's eyes. he felt alot better now, the water had soothed his words enough to speak properly

Venus looked away before curling up and laying her head on her paws. "I couldn't just let you die," She stated simply, wondering how she'd actually got herself into this.

"You can leave if you want, Venus." Jake croaked.

Venus looked at him. "What if you needed anything else?"

Ivan thumped his tail along the shuffled grass, the sound easily muffled. " We'll be fine. I promise. We want the best for you Venus." he croaked willingly.

She looked at Ivan, blinking. "I'm a stray. If I leave I won't have the best anyway."

He blinked sincerely. Im only a pet...I don't understand. " Oh...yeah..." he murmered breathlessly. " But..." he paused in silent awe and shook his head. " I shouldn't go on..."

Venus tilted her head slightly, shifting her position as her weariness set in.
