You've just been dumped by text, and you run crying into the bathroom of the restaurant. There's an woman who looks to be around twenty-six sitting on the sink ledge, polishing her nails. You're taken by surprise, and ask, "Um... what are you doing?" she replies, "Come over here and I'll show you!" in a high pitched voice.

When you wake up for the first time after that, you're in a centenarian room with white marble columns around the balcony. You notice a shimmer of light reflecting off of what seems to be nothing. You try to sit up to examine it, but you're tied down lock-and-key. You easily break the chains, but your legs fold gently when you stand. When you look at them, they are pale and almost... perfect. Unnaturally perfect, exactly. You run a hand over them and them feel cool to the touch. After a couple of hours of stroking your feet, you note a small box beneath the bed. You pull it out and it is marked "Read Me". You hesitate to open it- it hasn't been touched in ages. You dust of the lid and pull the stone to the floor, somehow effortlessly. You look inside to see a book about vampires and their history...
"Vampires are mythological or folkloric beings who subsist by feeding on the life essence (generally in the form of blood) of living creatures, regardless of whether they are undead or a living person/being. Although vampiric entities have been recorded in many cultures, and may go back to "prehistoric times", the term vampire was not popularized until the early 18th century, after an influx of vampire superstition into Western Europe from areas where vampire legends were frequent, such as the Balkans and Eastern Europe, although local variants were also known by different names, such as vrykolakas in Greece and strigoi in Romania. You notice the inked out line of "mythological and folkloric". You turn the pages, skimming for anything to tell you why you're here, when you see a section on newly turned vampires.
"A week after which the human is turned into a vampire (by bite or by venom injection) is the week of which the venom slowly takes over the body, turning cells into machines of perfection that will change the tissues and organs into perfect replicas, but blood veins flowing with nothing. The heart stops, having nothing to pump, and becomes a cavern for venom to collect in at the end of the first week. After flipping through the next seven pages of "Symptoms of Vampirism", you realize that you are a vampire.
You wander downstairs, into a lobby also decorated with marble columns. The lobby has many other vampires in it, some sitting alone, some flirting. You join the ones sitting alone and check out the map of the city {to be added}.
Before you are allowed to leave Newborn Services, you must enter all of your information into a computer. A box appears, and you begin to fill out the questions.
