"You too!" she sniffed her wearily, then tried stalking her tail. Worn out, she plopped down beside her. She smiled. "Are you my friend...?"
(Ah...innocent kits...)
-
"Um...Sure."
-
"Yay! I don't have many..." she said, sighing. "Everyone calls me a party-pooper because I think before acting...." she mewed sadly. "I don't fit in."
-
Garblepelt stretched, moaning at the heat against her thick, now uncomfortable pelt. It was perfect for swimming in the river; it was sleek and well-protected. But right now, in the unbearable heat wave, she thought she would turn into a well-done cat steak.
Known for her annoying friendliness, she plopped down next to the two conversing cats, almost about to land on the poor kit.
"Whoops," she drawled. "Sorry." She slowly stretched each leg, ending at a sweaty pawpad which she flicked off lazily. She took her time before rolling around to face the other two cats.
"Hi," she mewed. "Is it just me, or is this heat trying to kill us?"
-
Amerheart chuckled and then nodded; "I'll be dead like a mouse if it doesn't cool off soon." She joked.
-
"Oh Starclan, have mercy on our poor souls," Garblepelt moaned, half-faking. She sat up and began washing her pelt. She suddenly broke off while cleaning her right ear, her damp paw hovering in the air as she stared into space with those peculiar green eyes.
"Here's an idea," she remarked suddenly, leaping about five feet into the air. Her tail lashed excitedly, the heat long forgotten. "How about a swim in the river?"
-
"I like that!" Amberheart purred.
-
Garblepelt nodded furiously before leaping to her paws again and doing a perfectly beautiful somersault, head over tail, to the camp entrance.
She beckoned to them with her tail."Are you cooommming?" she called in a sing-song voice.
-
"Slow down!" She called in a joking way. Amberheart puffed herself to her legs and then moaned at the sudden discomfor of her growing kits. Shaking it off the she-cat made her way to the entrance.
-
"Are you coming?" Garblepelt paused, trying to remember the kit's name. "Somthin'kit? Sorry. I dunno your name."
-
"Kits can't leave camp, and I don't want to get her mother angery with us." Amberheart reminded the other warrior, as well as herself.
-
"Oh." Her furry ears drooped. "Darn. Still wanna go, Amberheart?"
-
"Yep!" She purred.
-
"Lets go, let's go, let's go!" Garblepetl yowled loudly and shot away out of the camp clearing. She skidded to a stop and dashed back.
"Sorry," she mewed. I have a tendency to do that." -
Amberheart purred and then nodded. "It's fine. Come on!" She purred and dashed off ahead.
-
"Hey!" she yowled, racing after her. She felt suddenly like a wild, playful young apprentice. "Woah!" She nearly treaded on a terrified mouse. "Well, that's a first." she muttered.
-
Laughing loudly, Amberheart forced her paws to move faster.
-
Garblepelt drew up next to her new friend, paws pounding against the hard-packed, dry ground.
"Why hi there," she purred before advancing. She thought her lungs might explode before she would make it to the river until she felt the ground starting to slant downwards, her paws getting wet. She took a great leap and sailed gracefully into the water with a neat dive. Her head popped up onto the surface, bobbing along. She treaded water, grinning.
"Hurrrry up Amberheart!" she shouted.
-
Panting, Amberheart pushed on. "I'm commin, I'm commin!" She called as she caught up with the other warrior.
