Just keep swimming! (O)

    Northstripe was sitting by the water, letting the sun heat her up. It was such a beautiful day! Once she was hot, she stood up, shook her fur and leaped into the water. The water pulled gently, and she went underwater. It was so pretty! All of a sudden a searing pain shot through her paw, causing her to suck up water. As she fumbled she stepped on what ever it was again, with another paw. She yowled underwater, pushing up towards air. She could feel the current pulling her away, but her paws hurt so much she couldn't swim. "Help me! Please!" she yowled.


    (Please don't rescue her right away. Have your cat struggle so the Roleplay lasts longer.)

    Ambermist woke up suddenly from a dream about a cat drowning. Startled she raced towards the river knowing what was going to await her. As she leaped over brambles and rocks she ran through the best rescue senerios in her mind. Ok so, there's a long branch about a foxtail away I can drag in to help her up and I can push her the rest of the way towards the bank. Deciding on this plan, she arrived at the location of the hurt cat. "Hold on, I'm here! Try to relax and kick your back legs" Ambermist called out in a sootheing yet strong voice.

    Ashneedle herd a lot of racket somewhere. So she angled her ears over by the river and that was surely where it was coming from. She had decided to see what was going on, and decided to leave the patch of grass she was grooming herself on and trotted towards the river. As she was rushing to the river she stepped on a sharp rock. She scrunched up her face in pain but new there was something wrong so she ignored the gash in her pad and kept on going, this time limping.
    The moment she got over there she noticed Northstripe in the water and Ambermist trying to rescue her. Ashneedle was in shock but quickly padded over to Ambermist to ask what happened. She had totally forgot about her cut up pad by now. "Ambermist, what happened to Northstripe, why is she drowning in the river?", she meowed calmly and waited for a reply.

    Ambermist jumped in and replied to Ashneedle "drag in that branch, I'll explain later." She ducked under the water and resurfaced with Northstripe leaning slightly on her. "Is the branch in? I can't keep this up for long. We don't have much time."

    Ashneedle nodded and grabbed the branch, she dragged across the grass to the river. She took one end and put the stick in the water were the two cats were swimming. "Here grab on it's in the water!" She exclaimed with a mouth full of bark.

    Northstripe felt herself come up to air and reached upward where a branch waited. Her teeth barely grazed the branch, and she felt herself slipping from conciousness as she slurped up more water.

    Ashneedle clutched onto the branch with her teeth tightly, making sure the stick wouldn't slip under Northstripe's weight. She notice Northstripe slipping so with her front paw she managed to just grip onto her scruff before she fell under. I got you she thought but suddenly her paw slipped off her damp scruff "no!" she yowled Her fur's too slippery, Starclan help her! She's to young to be with you.

    Northstripe yowled as she started to get washed away again. Paddle, come on, it's okay. Don't overreact. Pretend it's normal, said a voice in her head. You're not coming with us today.

    She started to follow Northstripe down stream and decided to jump into the water. She paddled towards her, "Lean on me I'll help you get to shore." She said.

    Oaknose burst into the frightful scene with a shocked gasp. He raced to the water and was trying to head for the cat but had stepped on something sharp. He gritted his teeth in pain, but ignored it. "Here, I'll help to!" He mewed.

    When they hit the shore Ashneedle slowly put Northstripe off her shoulder. She tapped her tail to the she-cats head, "Your welcome" she purred. She sat down and started grooming herself to get some of the weight from the water off her.

    Northstripe sighed in relief when her paws hit ground, until a new thought struck her. I can't be scared of water! She collasped in pain, both literal and figurative pain.

    IC: Ambermist rushed over to Northstripe. She leaned down and purred softly into her ear. "Don't worry you'll be alright, let me get you something for your paws and we can work through all this together." She straighted back up, smiled down comfortingly and ran back to camp thinking on how to explain her knowlege of what had happened and how to assure Northstripe that her new fear of water can be overcome, with great difficulty yes, but clearly Starclan had chosen an important path for the warrior or eles Ambermist wouldn't have been reciveing the "vision dream" previous to the accident.


    OOC:Sorry I haven't been on in a while

    Northstripe stared after Ambermist. "Thank you," she whispered. Her friend would be a lot of help. But could she tell her about her new fear? RiverClan cats can't be scared of water!

    Ambermist returned shortly with some Burdock and applied it to each of the cats paws. "Lets get you away from the River for a while," She paused and looked directly into the eyes of Northstripe. "We need to get the medicine cat to check you over. How well are you able to walk?"
