A bit of adventure [Private ~ Patchpaw]

    Leafeye trotted towards Patchpaw at the edge of the camp while greeting the apprentice with a meow. "Patchpaw! I'm going to show you how to fight, come" the she-cat meowed with a grin as a soft greenleaf breeze reached them.

    "Lets go then" she meowed before trotting off out of camp. She waded through the shallow water until she reached a large, grass covered area. "This will do. Okay, stand in front of me" she meowed with a nod.

    Patchpaw did what her mentor told her. "Now what?" she asked.

    "Okay, try to mimic my movements. You have to watch your enemy closely so you're always prepared for their next attack she explained as she started moving around towards Patchpaws's flank. "Follow me now and try to see what I am going to do next, then try to stop me" she added as she crouched slightly, tensing her muscles, before pouncing towards Patchpaw. With her claws sheathed of course.

    Seeing her mentor's muscles tense, Patchpaw waited for her jump. When she did, she slid underneath her, then spun around. "Was that good?"

    "That was very good indeed, Patchpaw" she said with an affectionate purr before continuing to circle around her. "It is very important to protect your soft stomach, but use this knowledge against your enemies as well. For example, if I jumped towards you and you slid under me like you just did, you can try to claw the stomach. But be carefully, don't kill if you don't have to" she explained.

    Patchpaw nodded. "You only kill if you can't get away, right?"

    "Exactly, you have to be absolutely certain that there is no other way. I hope you never get into that kind of situation though" she meowed with concern in her eyes. Leafeye started moving around again. "Try to attack me" she said while tensing her muscles.

    Patchpaw nodded again. She noted that Leafeye's muscles had tensed again. Slowly stiffening her own legs, she sprang at Leafeye's chest.
